Would you mind sharing a link to the specific Phoenix shovel. I googled it and it seems that there are different models. Want to make sure I buy the correct one. Would really appreciate it.
My predator hand digger model 85 showed up such a game changer as far as weight capacity. I shed 3 1/2 pounds out of my bag. The handle is better. Super stoked thank you predator tools.
Do you have any input or have you ever used the hand tools for predator tools . I ordered a model 85 I can’t wait for hopefully an upgrade my first hand digger was half the price and has an extension handle so you can use it like a small foot shovel. I swear my ol one weighs 4 pounds where as model 85 weighs I believe half a pound can’t wait
I wish they had a distributor in Canada. By the time I get the Pheonix to my door it will cost me like 350 bucks Canadian. Can't do it.........just can't do it lol.
Would you say the Spartan shovel will be better for very hard dry soil? It is similar to the phoenix with d handle and height. My main concern is getting through the rocky hard clay ground. Thanks
My first shovel from Predator was the Spartan, I sold it within just a couple weeks. The Spartan does not have a double curved spade, the Spartan has a straight spade which does not make clean plugs. The Spartan has a very small narrow/short spade and takes a lot of stabs to dig a plug.
So streak, are you just letting your friend use your shovel, that’s why you are using a different, less efficient? What is the one yiu usually use? I heard you say phoenix?
I was letting my friend use the Phoenix. I was using the Ranger just to say I tried it out. There is just no shovel that can compete with the Phoenix. The shape of the spade is perfect!!

350 is CRAZY!! I would not be able to justify 350 for a shovel...hell no!!

The cost is super super crazy to ship a shovel overseas. It might be over $400au by the time it gets there.
Do you recommend the foot pads?
NO!! I have used my Phoenix without pads for over 4 years. Footpads just dead weight.

I do not like the Ranger!! Too long of a spade. The spade is too narrow. Too heavy!! Makes horrible plugs. The Phoenix is magic!!

When I use the Ranger I trip over it because it is so tall.
I do trip over it too. It is just such a tall shovel.
