    The old "compensator bolt was loose, you got It loose to easily.

    I have an 08 SG and yes when I took my primary off to replace the compensator I discovered someone had already installed the SE unit.. Good news is I found the inner primary seal leak I was looking for... and found thank God that was all....

    Your starter noise is probably coming from your starter clutch. Just replaced it in my 2011 Tri-Glide. Exact same symptoms as you were describing.
    And yes that is a SE comp in that bike now.

    90 ooo on a stock compensator 2011 rg sprocket was worn bad install new se one git rid on a lot of noise

    The old compensator looks like a stock compensator not a se one.

    Do have to take the clutch basket off just to replace the Comp?

      It looks like in can be done..... in Part 2 of the video I put the new compensator in without removing the clutch again..... that begins at the 11:45 mark in the part 2 video. Thanks for the question!
