    You should check the back side of your clutch hub for broken because of the witness marks on the inside of your primary case. There's a good chance that the automatic chain tensioner is causing the chain to get too tight.

    Great video. Getting ready to do my compensator next week. A cool trick I saw on another video is take a zip tie around the tensioner before you remove it and it will keep it compressed for easier install. That may gain you the other few fingers you need!

    The clicking or ticking you hear when first started up was the dry chain.bouncing up and down on top of the clutch flywheel, it will stop after a few times when the chain becomes saturated with oil, and and also the chain tensioner will move a little more when the chain gets hotter.

    I enjoyed that - thanks! Nice and methodical, with a little humanity thrown in :-) - I chuckled when you rode out of the garage with your helmet on the sissy bar, then when you rode back in it was gone! I assume you didn’t lose it. I’m going to do my belt/compensator/pulleys, etc etc in the coming year so it was good to get a look at the way you did it. Again, thanks for putting in the time to video - must take ages to put it all together.

    Part 1 drove me crazy.. you REALLY seemed like you had no interest in changing the compensator and were looking for every reason NOT to.. repeating the same thing over and over.. but i stuck with it and learned a TON of valuable info!! My clitch has been doing the same, clunking etc.. so likely need a new one. I have a 2010 FLHXXX. About 70,000kms and never been done. My big "AH-HA!" was your comment about having too much oil in the primary being the culprit for making neutral hard (damn near impossible!) to find!! Liked, saved and followed! Down to earth. I appreciate you, sir! ✌️😎

    That tensioner is what is causing your comp to wear out I went with Hayden tensioner

    Do I have to take the clutch basket off just to replace the Comp?

      Looks like you could do it without removing the clutch basket..... I put it back together in this video beginning at 11:45 without taking the clutch back off. Thanks for the question!

    May I ask --- what light are you using over the clutch basket? --where did you purchase it?

      Its a rechargeable work light I got on Amazon.     I might have missed it but can you give me the Harley kit number? I really like the sound of you bike. Sounds strong.

      Wow and the rotor was included? In the netherlands the dealer want 533 for the compensator, 180 for the rotor and some extra for the glue.
      An otter question, Is it possible to do the complete operation be done in say 2.5 hour ?

    Can you tell me about how much that SE Comp. kit costs? I need the upgrade as I have an original making noise on my '07 Ultra Classic with just under 40k on it.

    Might have been easier to put the bolts in the tensioner to hold the spacers in place

    Didn't see you apply two drops of red threadlocker to the clutch hub mainshaft nut. Did you skip that step? Also didn't see the procedure you used to tighten the compensating sprocket bolt. Both steps are fairly important.

    That chain tensioner is another reason the old compensator is faulty.

    I broke a small piece off magnet on compensator can i still use

      How big of a piece? Is the remaining piece of magnet held together well, in other words material isn't flaking off?

      I cleaned the loose fragments off it I cracked it trying to pull it off very small piece on corner of magnet

    I dont want to be a wiseass i only want to let you guys know, Auto brake manufacturers, have deleted the torx bolts on all their brake caliper systems because they are insanely hard to remove after some time has passed.

      No wiseassery detected. You're right about the auto manufacturers going away from using torx head bolts and a lot have also gone away from allen head bolts on the brakes too. I think, at least my initial thought, is they went away from them because of rust issues..... A torx head bolt starts rusting and pretty quickly nothing fits right and you can't get a good enough bite on it to get it out. We won't have any rust issues in this instance because of the environment that bolt lives in. It's also a large headed bolt, so a lot more meat to grab onto when loosening or tightening.
