Replace 12 volt battery on 2017 Tesla Model S

- Replacing the original 12 volt battery on a 2017 Tesla Model S with an Ohmmu 12 volt Lithium Iron Phosphate replacement battery. I go through the entire process from powering down the car via the touchscreen to the final piece of trim being reinstalled after everything is done.
There are several gotcha's that you have to be aware of that I mention and this install should be applicable to anyone with a refresh Model S that has the HEPA filter. If you want to do this replacement yourself it really isn't too hard. It will take some time but there are no steps that are really tricky.

Boy, Tesla didn't make it easy to replace a simple 12 V battery. Lots of steps and parts to remove. I'll just pay someone to do it. But great step by step video.
Lots of steps, but they are pretty simple. It's that they hid the battery so deep in the car more than anything.

I was told by a service rep to 1. disconnect the neg. 2 disconnect the high voltage quick disconnect. 3 disconnect the positive. For connection, in reverse order.

Great video, Thanks. How’s the Ohmmu battery in model S so far? Looks like they have lots of issues in model 3/Y with Tesla firmware. Have you received any warnings on yours?
No issues at all.
Isn't the charging curve and "trickle charge" for LiFePo4 much different that lead acid? How will your car know to adjust the charging profile to the improved 12 volt battery?
I'm not an expert on the internals of the battery, but my suspicion is that for the drop in replacement type battery such as this that they use a step up converter or something similar to increase the voltage to the appropriate level for the lithium ion battery characteristics versus the lead acid.

For me the lights went away and Tesla didn't need to do anything. I think I read somewhere that the cars a few years older needed to have something reset after the new battery went in but Tesla fixed that before mine was built.
Have you noticed any improvement in your audio performance now that the nominal voltage is more consistent?
Sorry but we honestly don't use the car's audio very much. Based on our limited use we did not notice any difference.

How much did you paid for the battery?
Understanding that prices have almost certainly changed since we purchased: $419 is the answer to your question.
now that you've had the lithium battery in for 2 yrs are you happy with its performance?
No issues, so I guess I'm happy!
This man did way too much work removing the frunk components. The battery isn't in the frunk, why remove that?!
