This is my favourite NES game. The Moon theme is the most unforgettable track for me during the NES era.
Never knew about the buying health trick or the $0 ending. Great video, thanks!
You're welcome man. Those secrets surprised me too!
Same.
wow
I didn't know this game had three different endings!!! Crazy.
When I was a kid we bought this game used like we did with all the games, and like many it did not come with instructions. So it felt like the most unfairly difficult game ever until we figured out how to do the pogo jump!! After figuring that out it became one of our favourite games for a good reason.
Ducktales woo-ooo! 😩 90s kid here, I love Ducktales!
80s kid here, but i also loved me some Ducktales woo-ooo!
Born in 82 and loved me some duck tales growing up!
Might solve a mystery
Or rewrite history
Some of the greatest video game music ever. The Moon 🌙 so epic
that's my biggest memory of the game and the pogo attack.....
hel the moon theme tops a lot of game music today, it don't matter that it's 8bit it sounds great.....as do many NES games scores...
@@darthXreven totally agree. I still listen to the Megaman music sometimes when I workout. Gets me fired up lol
I feel sorry for my kids because they have to hear me tell them how unlucky they are to not have lived during the 80’s. Dad Card Obtained!!!
You sound like me dude 😂
On the other hand, they get the new DuckTales cartoon, which is pretty great too.
I fill you brother I shoud my kids thay love the old duck tales and the games mr mc duck ms biggly lol I miss thos days
I was born in 1980. I have 5 kids tell them the same thing. Nothing really defines these new generations. 80s and 90s man classic times.
Hearing the Disney Afternoon theme music come on at 3pm every weekday was the best thing ever!
This and chip n dale rescue rangers are my number 1 all time favorite games. Also I didn't know about the select tip, thank you so much for that tip.
I'm 47 and I was there from the beginning and I still play this game from time to time 🙏🏽
Obviously im partial here, but i really dont think there was a more nostalgic era than the mid 80s to late 90s. Just all the amazing toys, games, commercials etc. I feel like compared to other eras this one is seriously cranked to 11! I know nostalgia is a personal thing but i really do feel that as 80s, 90s kids we connect to it so deeply because of how iconic the marketing, art work, tunes etc. really were. It was really the first time it was all so "in your face" and loud. Not sure if this makes sense but anyways, i love all these vids on G3. I come back to watch these vids from time to time bc they really epitomize that feeling of nostalgia in me.
Loved this game & TV show. As far as themes go, not many cartoons could beat Duck Tales.
One the the first NES games I beat as a kid. Knew about 80% of these secrets back then in the early 90's as a kid and had none of the magazines
Duck Tales was and is an absolute must have for ANYBODY collecting NES carts, I remember back when it was new borrowing it and liking the game but not putting much thought into how good it actually is, it was just one of those highly playable games that simply existed, but over time it's aged quite well.
Couldn't have said it better myself Chris!
By the way totally enjoy your content, very high quality, well put together, very entertaining, and just charming as heck and a real joy to watch, brings me back in the most awesome way, appreciate your hard work, and passion!..Thank you👍
This was a trip down memory lane for me. I was also born in 82 and I remember watching Ducktales everyday after followed by Rescue Rangers. I played this game A LOT when I was a kid. One of my favorite NES games of all time! The Moon theme was epic, but when I was a kid I liked the Transylvania theme more. It wasn't until I got older that I appreciated the moon stage music for what it was more.
I used to love that game and I have the remastered version for the PS3. Crazy how much more challenging those games were than the modern ones today are.
Just finished watching Ducktales with my daughters who are 2 and 5 years old. They wanna play the NES games now! Great nostalgia trip, and some nice tips to boot
Absolutely one of my favorite games, this one and its sequel. Nothing like an afternoon pogo-ing through those games.
I'm over 40 & i remember me & my brother watching this cartoon & beating this game - great video game review.
Thanks so much. I'll be 37 in a few months!
Capcom nailed this game wide open! It was insanely popular.
Nailed ….wide open ….???
Ok
yep, we'd have cartoons after school and saturday mornings. Yep, this was a very good and fun game too.
That game really holds up well. Music, graphics, and gameplay! Pretty cool a childhood friend I used to play it with went on to work at WayForward on the remake!
A cornerstone my childhood!! One of the greatest NES games EVER made!!
The feels man..I remember my old man purchasing this for me. A classic.
At 15:07, I always got a kick out of getting Scrooge stuck in the snow, he looks like an old Donald Duck!]XD
My mom bought me this game in the (quasi) local Capcom store in the mall as a kid. Afterward, we went to my cousin's house so I could play it. Of the small handful of NES games I actually owned as a kid, this was absolutely a favorite.
Even though I've watched you sporadically for almost 2 year's,I just now subbed you. You content is unwavering and never fails to take me back to that golden age of between 8-14, when friends, skateboarding, and Nintendo meant everything to all us kids in the neighborhood. A very simple, worry free time in every kid's life where tons of possibility lay before you; before WORK and reality set in... Thanks a million!!
Wow Brent! That means a lot to me. I really appreciate you taking time to share that. Glad we have earned your trust!
I used to play this game when I was 6 years old, in 1991. The first game I've ever completed. Thank you for bringing back this memories
I'd love to see Ducktales' graphics and music included with Mega Man Maker.
Interesting!!
you could always just do mega man-ized levels based on Duck Tales....minus the music....eh
I got my copy at a garage sale for 1 dollar, the cartridge shell was busted and most of the label was gone.
The circuit board was fine though and I played it so much.
Still one of the best nes games ever.
So much nostalgia for this 37 year old!!!
can't remember how many times i finished this game as a kid. cool info too, never knew/cared of those different endings, thanks a lot
That game is such a classic that it got referenced in 2017 Ducktales series. Really should try it someday.
I loved the remake on the Wii U, it introduced the series to my children
In my top 5 for all time favorite games. So many memories playing this for hours! You showed me a couple things I never knew, and I came into this thinking I knew it all. You got a sub, can't wait for more like this!
Still play both original Ducktales games on the NES. Love both titles!
Not just the gameplay on this classic, but the music! This game was as close to max volume as my folks would let me get away with, especially on the Moon lol. I actually still have that theme on my iPhone today and still enjoy listening to it.
Luv DUCKTALES both original & the reboot. That theme song is awesome to this day.
Your videos and reviews on old NES games are always so thorough and well done!!!! Some of the best I've seen!! And i appreciate the hard work you put into them!!!
Chad that means a lot to me sir. I do try my best to bring you quality content. Your comment really helps push me forward.
Man, I LOVED this game as a kid! Awesome game. The HD Remaster is pretty good too.
80/90's was best time for gamers like me imo...
There were lot's of magazines (remember, there was no internet for most people, we used BBS's).
It was a big fun to go to the stores searching trough all those game packages displayed and even play games on the NES/GB/Mega Drive store displays. Most stores I remember had a huge (and I mean huge, HUGE *HUGE*) section dedicated to Nintendo/Sega stuff. Nowadays it's just a few boxes thrown in a corner...
Men, those days before I went to school there was the Super Mario Super Show on TV, every friday evening a game-related show on TV with tips/trics, reviews, news etc...
Yeah, sometimes I just miss those days...
Dude classic brother. One of best games ever on NeS. So many memories of child hood have come back since I found your Chanel
I still have that theme song stuck in my head brings back good memories
Born in 1984. Beat this game over 50x. Loved it so much
I remember my dad bought this game for me and my sister along with the guerilla war nes game at the flea market. One of my happiest childhood memories.
Now as an adult I have this on PC emulators and a lot more to relive my child hood.
I never got to see the end of Duck Tales. Brilliant to see what was squirreled away within this classic. Thanks for the video
Never knew about the penniless ending. Also forgot or never noticed the gameboy port.
Those bosses were tough as a kid.
I also remember being so pleased finding the shortcut in amazon going straight to boss
This series is awesome....so thorough and full of great info. Your channel is gunna blow up soon. You got a new subscriber in me. Great stuff Tyler
This is so awesome! Brings back memories from the 80’s! Loved this game!
nice to see retro games getting some life back! Thanks
I was born in 86 I watched DuckTales on TV all the time. I had an Nintendo NES, but I didn't own this game. I would've had this game a long time, like the 90's, 2000's, 2010's, 2020's, and now.
Hell yeah it's one of my favorite games! It's honestly probably the game I remember most
I loved playing Ducktales when I was younger. The music for the Moon stage is some of the best Capcom ever put out, and Ducktales Remastered only upped the quality with a newer, more enhanced version. Definitely makes me think of simpler times...
I like the Moon music the best also!👊
Ducktales was my ABSOLUTE favorite! UNBELIEVABLE gameplay, so fun!
My husband and I are playing Ducktales, and we’re discussing about the hidden objects and endings. So many memories, cos we had the opportunity to play this in our childhood. Thanks.
You are so welcome. Glad you get to play together. Very awesome.
I am so glad this channel popped up one day...I have been loving it! This episode hit home. I have always loved this game! Also, loved the old WWF reference with Ted DiBiase!
Thanks Mikey! You will come to find that I love me some old school wrestling lol.
This game brings back some memories and a lot of long lost friends!
I had this game as a kid. It was so much fun. As for the cartoon DuckTails & the Disney Afternoon, always the best part of the day. 📺😊
This was one of my favorite games as a child. I must have played though this at least 50 times.
This game was a huge part of my childhood. It was one of the first games I completely mastered.
I love DuckTales and now I have the theme song stuck in my head and I am not mad about that. Great video!
Thanks Linda! That song is infectious lol
We definitely grew up at the same time (born 80) ! I LOVE this game and pretty much watched every episode after school. Another great video, sir!
This is one of the best NES games ever made. I got this on my 7th birthday.
Thanks for sharing all these Tyler. Brings back all childhood memories of me in the 80s. I grew up playing the NES
Couldn't agree more. For me, the cane/pogo stick is the most memorable part of the game. It's so funny.. Though I was a kid and didn't know about pogoing to kill enemies, even then I could still tell that the game was better than a lot of other games. There's a style and flair that's almost intangible about it, yet it's there. Extremely surprising as it's a rendition of an already well-established tv show. As mentioned in the vid, that was very rare, especially back then. As you may imagine, the game opened up to me once I found out about pogoing and pushing the directional pad towards the object that you want to hit before hitting B.
Thanks Kevin. Really enjoyed reading your thoughts here. I can totally relate to the first time playing and wondering why nothing happened when I just tapped the B button lol.
This, Rescue Rangers, Castle of Illusion, and Aladdin are my all time favorite Disney based games
I love the remastered version of this game, it was such a fun game and the more recent remake series is excellent. Both clearly show how much the creators love the originals.
A lot of stuff I didnt know about this, but I cant say I spent a major amount of time on duck tales. Your video is as gripping as ever. good work my man!
Thanks so much man!
I've forgotten a lot of things, but I have never forgotten that theme song. They really created something memorable there. It gets in your head, and never leaves.
There are four childhood favorite theme songs from the 1980s that will never leave my head. DuckTales, Fraggle Rock, The Real Ghostbusters and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Got this at launch with gremlins 2, I knew nothing about either but never forgot them, the remake was a must buy.
I remember playing this on Gameboy. Loved it
The ducktales cartoons were really memorable and special as a kid along with tailspin!
Just discovered your channel yesterday. It’s awesome
Ah! Love the Legends of the Hidden Temple reference, another good vid G3!
I LOVE THIS GAME. Id solidly put this in the very top of the musical scores from the 8 bit era.
I didn't have this game, but we'd swap games with friends (or more often just bring all our games and get together at one of our places) and Duck Tales was always fun to play (unlike Captain Planet and Star Trek which we couldn't get by level 3 or so in either). We didn't know a lot of the stuff you highlighted in the video (and I long since forgot much of what we did know) but the bonus stage with Launch Pad was something we knew we could get sometimes, but not exactly how. For me the highlight of the bonus stage was not the treasure but hearing all of the Launch Pad music from start to end. i remember that music to this day.
Great video, buddy! The channel keeps getting better. Glad to see you doing the Thursday release too!
Thanks Chris. Appreciate the feedback man. I always want to make each video better than the last.
I'm so glad I spent any money I could get my hands on as a kid on renting games from the local video store or I wouldn't have all these great memories of all these games.
this was awesome. I use to watch this with a buddy who has a TY channel who told me to check you out. So happy I did
Excellent secrets and history and tips and facts!!! So much I never knew!
Now yor par of th squat!
Lots of great trivia to share about this gem. I had a blast researching it. Loved that new Ninja Gaiden video of yours!
Classic! Great video man.... the soundtrack, gameplay, graphics. Just amazing!
You are exactly right dude. Thanks for the awesome feedback.
I speed run this game and there is a nice clipping glitch in the moon level to skip most of the moon stage. You can clip through the green wall all the way to the right one of the kids is standing on. Makes the level much more painless. Also when you come straight down on a pogo with no lateral movement at all you can not be hit. Makes some of the bosses easier and can allow for double hits on Dracula Duck before he cycles. I love this game it’s one of my favorites.
Wonderful video as always! Thank you for all the time, dedication, and care you put into your work.
One of the things I love most about this game is all the well-hidden secrets which gives it great replay value! Thanks to you, I learned about a few new secret areas and shortcuts. Just FYI, there is one secret in the Himalayas which isn't highlighted in your video. From the beginning of the level, take the first rope down and hold left while free falling so that you land on the icy platforms below. To the left, you will see a gap in the ceiling. Hop up here with your trusty pogo cane and move left. It appears this path is a dead end, but there is actually a hidden rope which leads to a new area with a few treasure chests.
Take care and stay safe! Have a wonderful day!
I remember playing for hours with that game
I love this game. I remember beating it. Just recently got back into collecting and playing Nes games!
I'm addicted to collecting now too man lol
Such an incredible replay value!!! I love it.
how can you not say a single word about one of the best NES soundtracks ever..? :)
Oh man, this is so awesome! I loved this game. I just had a great flashback watching this game being played. Thank you for this amazing video
Tyler, the 80s was awesome I'm happy for guys like you and many other content creators on CZcams. Keep up the good work.
This game is my favorite of the NES games. Ducktales 2 is an awesome sequel as well.
I only ever owned Super Mario Bros 3, Tetris, and the Mario Bros/Duck Hunt pack in growing up but Ducktales had to be my most rented NES game back then.
DuckTales NES is always one of the best games I ever played on that system :D
It was masterfully developed. Tight controls and very true to the cartoon.
Damn i play this Game since nearly 20 Years over and over again.
But didnt know that there is Bonus Stage and 3 Endings.
Thank you
You are welcome my friend!
Really enjoy your video series! 80s/90s kid here too 👍🏻
Awesome! Really happy you are enjoying what you see. Your feedback helps make this channel better so thank you!
I absolutely loved this game when I was a kid. it actually was the first video game I was able to beat on my own without any help from my older sister. it was one of my proudest moments as a youth. thanks for the video! see ya next time!
You are welcome Jonny. Thanks for sharing your story. So your sister is a gamer too? Very cool.
@@GenerationGapGaming she was just a wonderful big sister. she saw her little brother getting upset with something and she fixed it. getting very good at the games in the process, haha!
Of course it was and is a MASTERPIECE!
God this game takes me back. Great video!
I absoultly love this channel man it brings me back to the good ol days
Your videos are so nastalgic. Yes the 80's were the best era for games along with music and movies too. Thank you for many AWESOME videos!! Please keep them coming.

Captain Commando?!? Holy crap you just took me back 30 years!
I like your NES Secrets and History videos the best.

Awesome Stacy thanks so much. Means a lot.
