I've always appreciated your videos for your honesty and your realistic approach to professional soccer. Educating younger kids about the reality of chasing the dream and also the idea that "there is no secret" is greatly important. In the end, I have found you can't blame anyone but yourself. The amount of work you put in determines the results you get and I think you've done a fantastic job explaining it. Well done mate 👍

Love that Matt wants to help Nick by showing him that he just has to take responsibilty for how things are going and he has the ball in his hands. U create your own world. It's all about perspective and little about facts. As long u believe, the results will come. It's the law of averages and attraction. Just stay positive and enjoy the procese. I believe Nick can do it. Become your greatest version and u will succeed. Peaceeee

Matt is absolutely right and here is what I think - If he was good enough and a stand out player he will get the contract. Imagine if a premier league player goes to a team like this, what will they do? They will take him asap when I see that his level is very good and the same goes for everyone that is trying to make it.
Don't expect to be an average or below average player and to get signed, work to get to a very high level - ball game, fitness, game IQ etc. and when you get to that level you will get signed at a pro team ;)

Well said Matt. Train Effective needed to hear this from the right person. From experience I know how easy it is to fall into that mentality that the world is unfair and skewed against your but for anyone who truly wants success you must learn to supersede that, stop complaining and work harder. Cheers!

Honestly one of my biggest inspirations and role models not just within football but everyday life. Spreading this sort of positivity and having the balls to say something against what you truly think isn't right shows your character and how much you truly care about not only your viewers, but also the kids (including myself) that also watch Nicks videos and are potentially influenced by them. Been supporting you for almost two years now and just want to say keep up the great work and keep inspiring people like myself to achieve their goals.

I agree with many of the things you say. I've been negative myself (many times) but I've learned to use those moments to push me forward afterwards. It's hard, but this is how the beautiful sport gets rid of the ones who aren't meant to go to the next "level". The way I look at it: "if I keep pushing, it will happen... maybe tomorrow, a month, a year... but it'll happen"

Matt, what you're saying here is so important. Every person has the potential to be their best supporter - or their worst enemy. There will of course be struggle and hardships along the way in whatever path you're walking, and everyone has their own personal struggle, and everyone doubts themselves at some points. But when you let that inner critic take over and drown out the inner supporter, it's a slippery slope that doesn't lead anywhere good.
I'm a relatively new subscriber (subscribee?), but I love all this content. Keep up the great work!!

Honestly from what I have read about his story and on his blogs, although he claims to be invigorated by all the philosophical things his read and his apparent self belief, he doesn't at all have the proper mindset needed to succeed in this sport. To think that the game is corrupt is one thing, and I agree to an extent, but at the end of the day if you perform well enough in a trial to a point where the coach thinks you can improve a squad, you are going to get picked, regardless of the imaginary factors that he believes are there, ughhhh anyway, good example of what not to become hey

Good video! I have that experience when you are better than someone but the treat him like he is twice better as you. But that motivates me and I hate it because it is all over the world. A lot of people tell me now that I can't be a pro but I don't listen to them. I was to a Barca camp in my country and I was better than many kids there, but the coach decided to put me in the second group. I was very nervous that time that I had in my mind a lot of negative mind. And then we played a competition, first and second group together, and then a lot of kids saw who was I, even one kid told me that I was better than a lot of kids. I will never forget that, but one day I am sure that they would see what they've missed and will prove them wrong.

train effective went to the most difficult place to play football in the world its the most physically league to play in plus there's tons of competition I believe if train effective wants to play pro it might not be England or Europe it could be Asia with so many leagues you can play in so many countries. he needed to be real and seek a professional level which is within his current abilities then after proving himself he could go anywhere.keep going hard guys and play as hard as you can for as long as you can!

*Let me tell you something. I, like Nick and countless more passionate and devoted people are going for that ultimate goal - to get a pro contract and do what you love. Well, just like Matt said, ENOUGH of the negativity. It is all up to you. Just put it that way, Matt is 24, much more experience, better physicality whereas Nick, lack most of this and still complains a lot. Well, mate.. I have been playing all my life, I have dealt with scoliosis when doctors were telling me to stop, now.. GET YOUR SH*T TOGETHER and either lift your head up or quit. 'Cause, if it was easy, everybody would do it. To y'all, who is passionate about something, would give their all and cannot live a day without thinking about.. CONTINUE GUYS AND NEVER STOP! Even if it does not work, know that you have given your best and it is your fault only if it does not work. This is sport, you need to shine early if not, you will struggle, realize that. That's how things go.. But, hey. There is this guy, Jamie Vardy and the fact that he has done, why can't you? Love you, Matt, thanks for the transparency and keep on grinding, just like you did back in Germany. DO NOT SETTLE DOWN UNTIL YOU REACH WHERE YOU WANT TO BE!*
