Like, if LMG is set up as a sole proprietorship or partnership, then fine.

In regards to the nose thing, it's totally true! I had to find special "Asian fit" protective eye wear because everything else I found had a pretty big gap from my nose/face. Its not something you really thing about!

I've had the same issue of starting projects and never finishing. This makes Linus super relatable even though I'd prefer he figured out a way to stop having these issues. It's one of the things I really like to work on in my life. I hate wasting money on a bunch of todo items.
Simple, set up alerts whenever you start a project so you're constantly reminded it exists.

7:55 Having the plug plugged in backwards like that actually shouldn't hurt anything. The prongs are in fully and all the wiring connects together when the splitter meets the outlet anyway. The neutral is still getting connected to the same neutral and likewise for the hot. Electrically, it wouldn't really make any difference at all
A lamp socket may be hot around the rim though instead of at the bottom of the socket which could increase your chances of getting shocked...
Never mind, I thought it was forced into it, they were still big plug to big hole, little plug to small hole... Not different electrically at all.

I enjoyed how personal this was. I have so many projects I thought about, started, bought stuff for, and never followed through on. We all have obligations and 'life' that happens, this video seemed REAL. It made me feel normal! Thanks for sharing it!

This is probably one of my favourite LTT videos, just felt like a casual daily life video rather then something super planned and setup. Sounds backwards but it felt homey and as if we were really being shown through the house rather then behind a camera
Yeah I love these kinds of videos as well. Like the video where they visited Yvonne's parents. In that video Linus was just some guy trying to buy some cheap tech for a better wifi setup. So relatable.
I've always preferred the behind the scenes and candid videos to the scripted ones

Love your channel, you guys cover a lot of the pc parts I run. This video is a nice break from your usual wish I had some of your issues, you had/have rooms bigger than my whole apartment.

My wife and I thought the same way, and assumed we'd just be experiencing each day together for a long time to come just the same. But even though already beaten down by losing her to cancer one day, life continued to beat down on me day after day for having that previous thought pattern leave me wishing for those things. "Something could happen, slowly or suddenly, and she's gone" is the reason why, Linus.

Really excited to see the content at the new place. Its odd they are leaving this house they had so many memories in and I do as well. I remember Linus filming in the kitchen when LMG didnt even exist. Im curious to see how linus will do it when setting up a new house with the resources he has now and all of the lessons he learned from this house.
7:55 Damn! I was aware that US wall socket design was bad but the fact that you can criss-cross the socket between two different receptables is simply another level! It seems that you have some low quality splitter installed there, though. Hopefully the actual wall socket doesn't have equally bad design.
To be fair, there’s functionally zero difference between the ‘right’ and ‘crossed’ ways of plugging it in.
If there’s no ground plug, then its just hot and neutral.
It isn’t any more or less safe.
@@stertheder I think it may have been between two different sockets. Which in practice is exactly the same as reversing the polarity, which is what I think you mean by "crossed".
@@SephBane Thats probably what he thought. But when the plug doesn't have a grounding pin then the polarity doesn't matter.
@@dannulik It depends on the device. In appliances if the neutral wire is energized then the circuitry can stay energized even if the device is switched off (manual or automatic). That can shorten its life due to burn out. You can also cause a part to be energized that normally isn't. For example the threaded part of a light socket instead of the little tab causing a shock hazard when changing the bulb.
Maybe whoever designed that has OCD and wanted all the slots evenly spaced. Not exactly the best design.

I have to say this is the first video where I can finally take advantage of your videos beeing in 4k, as I finally have a monitor where I can see the difference to QHD. Fees nice and is super crisp.
11:55 Inhaling helium straight from a tank can be dangerous. Lungs draw air into them using your diaphragm muscles, and are not meant to be filled using an external pressurized source. pressurizing the lungs to 1.7PSI higher than the surrounding atmosphere is considered lethal. A tank like his can be pressurized over 250PSI. I'm sure Linus was smart enough to only open the valve slightly to avoid over inflating his lungs. Deaths from helium inhalation are rare, but most people suck the air from a balloon, not straight out of the tank. I would have put a "Do not attempt" warning.

I know exactly how you feel Linus, I'm currently in the process of moving. I've got over 20 years of stuff to pack up and it's awful.
It's refreshing that someone of Linus' stature has a house that, for the most part, everyone can identify with. No sterility or staging, just well-worn, lived-in, and very apparent kids live there.

That's why I enjoy this series. Even the in studio stuff is staged around one thing but we get a view of his life outside of work. I can definitely tell Linus is an amazing dad.

Makes you wonder, how he got Covid in the first place (-:
I had my place all set up perfectly and just right for me, but then I had to move. It's now over a year later and I still haven't been able to reconnect more than a computer with bad speakers and a screen. No surround system, no tv, no bluray, no home stream. And why you might ask, it's simple really this new place has much less modifying possibilities and that hampers me a lot, plus the brains of the whole thing broke during the move and getting a new one has been on order for over a year.
But here's the thing, I was shocked when I managed to pack down all my tech, it was a hell of a lot more than I thought it was and it was all connected, doing the same thing in this new place is a lot harder since I have to be very careful and do as little modifying as possible.
The other issue is several needed upgrades that's been on the waiting lists for over a year. I need tech stuff for around 7000$ and that does not include a cpu or GPU, it's just hard drives and my new main surround amp, I have the cash, but the parts are just not showing up and it's driving me bonkers.
Moving suckes when you have lived a long while in a place you have turned into your home.
Finally, you're going to your dream house! I'm so proud of you guys!!!

I also recently moved, and was stunned by all the tech stuff i gathered over the years, i have big bags and bags full of cables, hard drives, pc motherboards, you named it! Enough stuff to build a dozen pc's! I didn't realise i had so much stuff! My girlfriend told me i have to clean it out but i say than what if i need that or this or i have to fix this . . . It's a never ending story, a move is great for 1 thing, to find back long lost things you stashed somewhere and you looked everywhere, which only for you to pack everything and to find it again :p

I would definitely be down for rack-mount case partnership or design files and a company recommendation!! I've been using a modified Rosewill 4-U for the past 4 years, and absolutely love being isolated from the noise, heat, and lack-of-desk-space that comes with having a desk rig.
I'm gonna miss that server closet! So many fun and interesting personal rig videos have come from there.

Referring to your setup with the 48" OLED. I run a 32" main 1440p monitor and my secondaries are 29" 1080p ultrawides. Best setup ever. It's like having 5 displays. Each 29" ultrawide has 2 windows side-by-side and the main content/work is on the 32". I don't think I will ever change this layout.
For anyone wondering it is a 1x2 setup. Single post with a single monitor arm and then a triple monitor arm underneath (Because most doubles won't support ultrawides). So the 32" sits centered above the side-by-side ultrawides.
I love watching you and Yvoon interact with one another. The respect and partnership is just a breath of fresh air.

dude, careful with that helium man! I did that with a friend at his house when I was 11 and passed out part way up the basement staircase. Luckily I kind of slumped down and just slid down the stairs instead of falling hard. But I did come to with quite a headache and bump on my head!

I understand. My wife was speechless when she witnessed my tidying technique for the first time: wander around the house tossing items in the direction they're supposed to go. After enough wandering, everything is in the right place very efficiently.
Interrupt the process, though, and it isn't pretty...
I used to toss things by the door of the room it belongs to. Then if I enter the room then I'd grab all the crap from the door and then put em away lol.
Thank you for being so open with your personal life. This makes me feel less like my wife and I are dysfunctional at adulting.

I like this. It shows that not everything is fancy and perfect made, like the LTT videos always shown us. Good to see that Linus is still a human :) . It reminds me of the early Linus, when he was a "normal" computer geek like us ^^. Maybe he still is. I like the unscripted situation btw 👍
