Add a diamond on the side of the engagement ring for every generation it has been passed down.
Each successive generation could change which gemstone to use for 10yr markers.

It would probably have been less expensive to let someone that already had all of the existing equipment and already knew how to use it make a ring, as opposed to obtaining all of the equipment and spending the time to learn how to use it properly. So he didn't do it to save money.

Aweee, my fiancé made my engagement ring himself too. Well, he had help from a blacksmith, but he did a good job. This video made me so emotional because I have pictures of my fiancé during the process, but I never got to see how much work it actually was. Thanks for sharing.

bitasid Inn I am not sure how hard it is. It took one and a half working day for my fiancé to make the ring and he has pictures that shows it’s not impossible of course. He started from searching for a blacksmith that has workshops. The person who helped my fiancé has actually never done this on gold, but they did a great job. I am very happy with the result. It might not be the most beautiful ring in the world, but it definitely is the most meaningful because it was made for me and there is only one ring like that.
Oh, my fiancé bought the “stone” separately too. Actually, I am sure he had the diamond way before he could find a blacksmith workshop.
