This is a Muonionalusta meteorite. The unique Widmanstätten pattern makes this one of the most beautiful meteorites. Showing this ring to new people really is amazing. Some people freak out completely when told this story and rightfully so. It's freaking 20 million years older than the earth! Thanks to lead-lead dating we can with great accuracy determine that this meteorite is at least 4565.3 million years old. It's just mind-bending.

Something written and translated a few thousand times from dead language to dead language especially when the languages didn't have the same structure will obscure any meaning and most of it is left to interpretation.
So while saying anything written in a book 1000 or 2000 years ago is a lie wouldn't be right, saying anything written in there is fact depends purely on how reliable the source material is.

You guys know that the shavings are worthless right. Meteoric iron is so full impurities you can’t do any thing with it except work it as is. The shavings are worth less than dirt. But the ring really came out awesome and could be sold for a mint.

Really priceless by originality and age
So far I've seen only 4 metal meteor rings in my life. This being the 5th one. All have had an incredible crystallized grain structures such as this. I've always wanted one but price has been astronomically high, thus unobtainable. And the few meteors that I have found in the desert over the years didn't contained enough iron to make a quality ring.
But nice job at crafting this ring. And what a stunning etching it took
