I'm not hip to the boat reference , I'm still catching up on the APS videos. It just reminded me of the time when my husband's brother shot a car in half and buried it. He was hard on cars when he was younger. That's pretty much what forced my husband in being an automotive technician. Somebody had to fix all the stuff his brother broke, or blew out. He's made a good career of it though. And I haven't paid a repair bill in 20 years. Win win

As a Nurse for many years if I were to see a tattoo that says “Do Not resuscitate” and that is all the information I have I am ethically bound to honor it ...

Actually, if you read the full article, the doctors on call contacted an ethicist and in the mean time, kept the man on antibiotics and adrenaline.
The ethicist advised them it was not good to count on the tattoo as sole-proof of a decision to die.
Luckily, they were able to find identification through fingerprints and traced his Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) form on yellow paper - which they then honoured.

Joe, I have a brother that keeps doing the same stupid things (drugs and theft) again and again and, as such keeps going to jail. He is 25 and I keep telling him every time he gets out that eventually the judge is going to get tired of seeing him for the same offenses. Also, I tell him that all of these convictions are going to make it hard to find a women or a job. It would be super awesome if you could make a video about some of the issues you have had when you get out. As he keeps telling me I a "square" and I have not been there. So a video about issues you have when you get out would be very inspirational and who knows, maybe it might help him to hear it from someone who has been there. I am sure that I am not the only one who would find a video like this helpfully. Like the videos BTW it helps me try and understand some of the things my brother is going through in prison.
Get him the book, " A Mind Set Free," by Jimmy Evans it is very inspirational. Most people don't understand this is the devil's playground and we all have addictions in some form or fashion that no matter if we want to keep doing it the devil can whisper thoughts that is how he gets to us so that is why when we wake up in the morning and when we are idle in the day as well as before bed we should read a scripture pertaining to what we are going through. Jimmy Evans had an addiction to Pornography and smoking but with in days of doing this was completely set free, he helped one of the most disciplined people he knew break his pornography addiction by telling him to do the same thing. I don't remember what scripture it is but God tells us to do this in the bible. I'm going to get the book too for my husband who is in Prison right now and I'm think it would be a good Christmas present for others, it is about $6. God Bless all of you and also for the videos.

Around here juggalos are fans of the Insane Clown Posse, a rap group from Detroit Michigan, popular in the late 90s. I live 50 miles south in Toledo, Ohio. They held a concert here and did so much damage to the venue that Toledo banned them for life. One of their trademarks was spraying their fans with faygo pop.

Eric Zigmont where I work(as an RN), we have to have it in our system that they are a DNR. If they just have it on a bracelet or tattooed on them, we don’t honor it

I got a MS13 tattoo back in 2006 to celebrate Micheal Straham's 13th season.
It came out later, when they found out the guys identity, that he did have a DNR on file
I think then the hospital was at least legally justified. Ethically, you typically want to err on the side of life, but the fucked up thing is they could've gotten sued if they had revived him because of the legal paperwork he put in place. It's like a lot of things in this world: a fucked up grey area with no easy answers. I personally think while a DNR tattoo is not legally binding and shouldn't be the final say, it should be taken seriously and people that want these tattoos need to seriously think and understand the shortcomings and consequences of this tattoo, and the possibility that they may still be resuscitated because it will ultimately be left up to the doctors at that point, the hospital's policy, and the state's laws regarding right to die. Like I said, a lot of fucked up grey areas.

Ken Williamson first off, it's likely those in prison have been there for a minute and won't really know him. Aldo, inmates wouldn't get pissed, they would actually thank him because there is nothing worse than a fish that has no idea what is going on.
Ok the guy who had "Do Not Resuscitate" tattooed on his chest had registered for it and was suffering from depression and alcoholism for some time. The tattoo was an additional step above and beyond to try to prevent his resuscitation. Additionally if he didn't get the tattoo he would have been resuscitated because they were not able to successfully identify him until sometime after his admission to the hospital.
