    You don't need a bondsman. But you still have to go to the jail. Post the bond, go through the motions of being booked in and booked out with a court date. Posting your own bond take 2 to 4 hours. Using a bondsman takes 4 to 6 hours and you lose your 10 percent. Either way, you are still being booked in and out. If you accidently miss a court date, within 72 hours go to the payment processing center of the court house and pay your 30$ bond fee. The warrant is cancelled and you get a new court date. Always remember 72 hours business days. According to the UCC everyday is a business day so those weekends and holidays count. The only time the weekends and holidays don't matter is if they owe you, or they're doing something for you. Yes, its a double standard. But who are we dealing with? They are the true criminals. We are dealing with fraud, color of law, and fake actors that will deceive you every chance they get. They all went to law school to learn how to deceive the Americans, as they are all foreign agents. Do your homework. You are the beneficiary, not the other way around.

      If you can afford a bond, then true you don't need a bondsman. You have to get booked in and booked out either way. Also the bond may be too high. If you pay the bond, you must pay the full amount. So if the bond is $20,000, $30,000 or more, most people cannot afford to put up that kind of money in full to get their family member out of jail. Also I don't know of anywhere that you can do a non-arrest bond on a felony or a misdemeanor in 2-4 hours. As a general rule bondsman can get it done much quicker than if you went directly to the courthouse and tried to get someone out on bond. It may be so in your jurisdiction or for traffic bonds. In any event, if you know what to do, you are not required to hire an attorney. These video are for information purposes only.

      @@THEFEDORALAWYER I'm taking about low level bonds. Say if you accidently miss a court date on Thursday, they're closed on Friday due to a holiday, then Monday comes around and your 72 hours are up. You can't go to the courthouse and pay the warrant fee and get a new court date. Now you have to go to the county jail and post the bond and get booked in and out. I understand that most people use FRN'S and 20 or 30k might be difficult that way indeed. There are other ways though.

    I was a temporary run away teen 1998 in San Francisco. Got in trouble for drugs, lied about my name and age. Courts issued a failure to appear bench warrant (adult Court). Back then, I was back home being a kid and going to school wasn't think about the run away days. Now in 2022, I get pulled over and officer sitting his car for 15mins, then he walks up asking me, do I use another name. He tells me about the two decade old bench warrant from 1998 (I was 15 years old he said). He was confused his self. He said, my real name is attached as an Aka. but he couldn't verify it's me 100%. He took a photo of me and got my phone number, then let me go. What should I do? I ran my real name in the warrant search but nothing popped up. I ran the alias name, I used as a runaway something popped up. He also said my license is not listed on the warrant. I thinking, I didn't have any identification back then I was a kid.

      That's not enough information for me to give you a solid answer. Was the trouble you got into a felony? Were you a minor at the time? Were formal charges ever filed? What state was it in? Not knowing much else, my advice is for you to contact a criminal defense lawyer and explain the situation to the lawyer. This way you can get it resolved properly. Remember, when you consult a lawyer it is absolutely confidential. You can tell the lawyer anything and the lawyer is bound by law not to divulge what you say. Also don't tell anyone else until you speak with a lawyer first. You should get this resolved ASAP.

    My husband and I moved from pa to Delaware 2 years ago, last week he got a pa warrant in the mail for driving while under suspension from 1992. Isn't there a statute of limitation??

    • @THEFEDORALAWYER
      @THEFEDORALAWYER  Před 2 lety +5

      The statute of limitations begins from the time the criminal act takes place until formal charges are filed. So long as charges are filed within in the statute of limitations period, a person can be prosecuted for that criminal act and an arrest warrant can be issued. That said, I doubt PA will try and extradite him from Delaware for a driver's license problem. Worst case scenario, the license suspension will carry from PA to Delaware. He should seek out a good traffic lawyer in Delaware to fix the suspension problem. Good Luck.

      There is no set time limit to become a fugitive. Once you fail to report you are considered an absconder. From that point you are generally consider a fugitive. If you have never been arrested on a case you are fugitive until arrest. A lot of federal drug conspiracy cases work like that. Any defendant in the conspiracy who has not been picked up yet is considered a fugitive. Hope that clears things up.

      That does not sound right to me. But it depends on what state you are in. A small fine would be for a traffic ticket or other class "C" misdemeanor "fine only" type offense. It doesn't make sense that your husband would not know about a warrant. And why is there a captain involved. That seems a little below a captain's pay grade to be dealing with a simple warrant. Your husband should contact an attorney or at the very least a bondsman to check on the warrant. It just does not sound right to me.

    Hi. I'm from Michigan. Last July I was arrested for hindering , I spent a month in jail and at court I was released on a personal bond. I had every intention to go to my next court date but in the meantime I received a warrant in the mail for a domestic violence charge that happened in June with my son and I, we got into a shoving match. Anyways I also had a retail fraud charge I believe that was a warrant when I was arrested for hindering. So I believe right now I have 3 warrants and I plan to turn myself in Tuesday, I'm wondering what I need to do before I turn myself in to make things easier and also how can I find out if I for sure have 3 warrants since I'm only for sure about 1.

    • @THEFEDORALAWYER
      @THEFEDORALAWYER  Před rokem

      A bondsman can look up the warrants for you to make sure there are only 3 warrants. Next step is to hire a lawyer to arrange for you to turn yourself in. The lawyer can get a bond company on board who can send a representative to court with you. You should also have a friend or family member in court with you as well. Next, you, the lawyer, the bond rep and a family member all go to court on a date the lawyer has arranged with the court. The judge sets the bond in all 3 cases. Sometimes the judge will allow you to leave court with the bond rep to handle the paperwork through pre trial services. If not, you will need to stay in court while the bond rep and your family member go handle the bond paperwork for you. That is how I do it with my clients.

    Hello I had a traffic violation a year and half ago, the day i received the ticket I parked my car and walked down to the police dept. Because I did not understand how the officer could issue the ticket for my running lights not working when indeed they worked the judge's secretary told me not to worry about it that she get it taken care of well i never thought about it again and this past August YES I was working im a self employed laborer and was arrested on a job site for this very traffic violation. What can I do about this if anything, when the officer arrested me I tried to tell him I took care of it the judges secretary was on vacation but even if I feel strongly he would have still taken me in on it. The judge after spending the night in jail having being arrested on my job site and my picture ran in the newspaper paying a bondsman and the original amount of the violation I was refunded my money with an apology and said it would be time served. TIME served really??? I am being punished for something I took care of i feel.

    • @THEFEDORALAWYER
      @THEFEDORALAWYER  Před 2 lety +3

      Yes you were punished. Time served usually means you are guilty and that is your punishment. Not much you can do but file a complaint with the board of judicial conduct. Except it was not the judge that did anything wrong, it was his assistant. I don't know why she would say it would be taken care of and then let it get to this point. A judge's secretary has no business telling you it will be taken care of when that person is powerless to do anything. It was not necessary to come and arrest you either. They could have given you notice by mail to resolve the matter before filing an arrest warrant. And if the judge's assistant says it will be taken card of, get it in writing. In the future though, spend a few dollars and get a lawyer to help you with any type of legal matter. A couple hundred dollars to a lawyer would have avoided this whole mess.

    • @THEFEDORALAWYER
      @THEFEDORALAWYER  Před 2 lety +2

      You may have a good reason if your lawyer did not inform you. But as a rule, most judge's will expect you to know when you have court. That said one missed court date is not a serious matter so long as you get the warrant taken care of as soon as possible. Also most courts will have you sign a reset form notifying you of your next court date each time you leave court. Did that happen with you?

We call this a walk through. In most cases the judge will just raise the bond. You may also contact a bondsman and see if there is a bond already set. Many times the court will just double the bond on a misdemeanor case. If that is the case, pay the bondsman their fee and handle it that way. But don't wait any longer. If the charges are not that serious, might you be better off just taking care of the cases. That way the charges will be behind you forever. Most times the prosecutor will negotiate a deal and possibly dismiss some charges in exchange for a plea on the others. But if that is not what you want, just stay out of the way of police, don't drive and pray you don't get caught...for the rest of your life. If you leave to go to another country, you will likely need a passport. Many countries will check for warrants upon entry to their country. Canada, for example, is very strict about who gets it Anyway good Luck!

    So I got a traffic ticket, I did not pay since I had no job or money, we had to reschedule the court appointment because of some issue about my address I think, i completely forgot about that new date. I’m now in a different state and it been a year and there’s a warrant for arrest… I hired a layer and I’m waiting for their response, my bond or ticket was 500 dollars and that’s what the lawyer charged me… still waiting for their email with an update, it’s been a day now. I’m worried I would need to fly over to Missouri and be in jail for a month.

      @THEFEDORALAWYER  Před rokem +2

      If it is only a few days since you hired the lawyer, you should wait a bit longer then contact the lawyer you hired. If there is a warrant for your arrest they will not come looking for you on a traffic warrant. The only way you would likely be arrested is if you were once again driving in Missouri, got stopped for separate traffic violation and the police ran your license or ID card and saw the warrant. It's always good to get a traffic ticket attorney to help you. Traffic ticket lawyers specialize in traffic tickets only and usually know the best way to handle traffic warrants. You can also call the court directly and see if the warrant was lifted yet. Sometimes the larger cities have websites where you can check on the status of your court case. Hope this helps a bit. Good Luck!!

      No bail or Hold bail on a seat belt violation and failure to appear is a little extreme. I have never had a hold bail for something like that. @@kritick505 If this is a ticket for no car registration, a no bond is extreme for missing court. Usually the bond is double the value of the fine for the ticket. I'll give you the same advice. You need to contact a traffic ticket lawyer in the area where the court is located. Hiring a lawyer for a ticket should not be very expensive. This is the only way to handle this situation. If you are stopped while driving and the warrant is still active, you can end up in jail and your car will be impounded. This will cost even more money. Good Luck. What state is this by the way?

    So my girlfriend got caught up with a 0.2 of cocaine in Yuma Arizona back in 2019 in she was in Yuma with her sister in law when this happened she kicked her out long story short she was on the street that night with cocain a lil amount and got two felony charges. Anyway she got released to her mom back in San Diego where I lived at the time and her mom and boyfriend drove to get her from AZ then they took her to SD and dropped her off at my house when she just turned 18 and promised the courts she would get her to all her court dates. Another long story short that didn't happen her mom shipped her there in the first place n didn't give a F that's why when she got her when she got released she dropped her off at my house so she could stay with me but I wasn't in the position to handle all that so she has a warrant now for her arrest for over a year/ haft now and last yr we moved to spokane Washington and I'm sacred we will get pulled over and all lose my girlfriend when she's been clean has a hella good job and is on the right track she just has her past from AZ hunting her how should we go about this without jail time? She didn't mean to skip court or run by know means necessary!

      First thin first. Contact an attorney in AZ where the original case is pending and have that attorney help you get the case resolved. I doubt AZ will extradite her for such a small amount of a drug even if she gets stopped in Washington. But the sooner you get it taken care of the easier you will be able to sleep. Good Luck.

      If you have an open arrest warrant in Texas, you can be arrested anywhere, anytime. However, I seriously doubt any officer will arrest you on your way to a hospital to give birth. If you were already in custody, they would have to transport you to a hospital anyway. They will just wait and come back and get you at a later date.

      @THEFEDORALAWYER  Před 10 měsíci +1

      If it is a misdemeanor DWI warrant, which means this is either your first or second DWI, then you likely will not have a problem anywhere. No state law enforcement agency is going to hold you for another state's misdemeanor warrant. Same for going out of the country. But if it is a felony warrant you could run into problems everywhere. You could be arrested in any state and held until Texas comes to get you. It would be a big mess. Leaving the country will probably not be a problem with a felony warrant for DWI but upon returning, you will likely get stopped and held. Hope that helps.

      If you were ordered by a court to pay child support, you will be liable to pay it. if you were married to her at the time the child was born, in most jurisdictions you are the presumed father and therefore must pay the court ordered child support. If you think you are not the father, get a paternity test to confirm it which may relieve you from paying further support. There are many different options at play here. For example, if you have been the presumed father for a long time i.e. many years, you may be legally "estopped" from denying paternity. But best to consult an attorney in your jurisdiction for help. Good Luck.
