Joe, if you're going to try to get that gang classification off your record; before you see the judge.... get that tat covered up. That'll show a judge you have regret over ever getting that tattoo.
I wondered why he still has it too but actually it makes sense. While he still has it, it corroborates his story as to how he got into this whole situation. If he gets it covered up, then they might assume he is lying about the "white trash" thing and that he was actually part of something more serious.
If you get it covered then upon inspections you may be able to get the "Disassociation/Inactive/Reformed" label rather than the "Active" label of flag waving..... In time it may move to the back burner even if it is never completely removed. The judge that has to rule on it will probably be way more favorable if it is covered up.... What do you do with a mistake? Correct it.... Cover it up and stop waving the flag.
Joe, as I said in a previous comment, I am a retired Police Officer. The only time I wasn't on the street, was the two years I spent after I, "came in" from being Undercover, I had to, be officially "reacclimatized to civilization.” (Understand, that if you work deep cover long enough, you tend to assimilate some of their habits, actions, language, etc.) My first wife even made me choose between her and my job because she didn't recognized, or like the new me. First wife being the key words here. My present wife is also retired Law Enforcement, so she understood me. The biggest point here is, I worked closely with Street Gang Units from N.Y., Pa., and Ohio. Every one of them had copies of gang tattoos all over their walls, and I know that I'd remember your, “WT”, because it's so unique. Never saw it anywhere so, if it is gang related, it's not from any areas I worked. You got shafted, Joe, although you already know that.

G B it's a non existent gang basically. No one knows what it is. I'm from Texas and the there's a prison gang in Texas called west texas and they use WT too but it's stacked on top of each other, so even then he wouldn't get classed here. A lot of people would probably think it was a loved ones initials honesty.
regardless of the "certification" he should still cover it, he should've covered it the first time he found out it was a gang from the that dude on the yard, hell he could have covered it himself left handed jus tat a square over it, so frustrating that he still isn't gonna remove it, main reason is if other inmates see he covered then his story would make sense, but never covering it makes it look like u are in the gang

There is a program that will help former inmates have visible tattoos removed for free so that they are better able to get a job and not be so stigmatized. Having worked in a prison I have that information if anyone ever needs it.
@@bluewinterwolf lol I don't think Tattooists do tattoo removal. Pretty sure that's a pretty major medical thing that involves lasers burning your skin and shit....yeah...some of them do cover-ups though.
here in germany some tattoo studios actually do also tattoo removal with lasers. It´s not a "witchcraft" thing. Here you have to get a certificate that allows you to do it and the authorities check on that and hygenical standarts and then you go get these really expensive lasers and you´re good to go. For a little tattoo like this getting it 5 times lasered will have it removed.
Sometime around 1969 at the age of 14 my dad gave himself a time dot. In 2005 when I was 7 he got locked up. Kind of funny he gave that to himself 35-36 years before the fact. Thanks Joe for making the APS series and giving me an idea of what his life on the inside may be like. We can't let the past define who we are, even if we still feel the ripples. I believe it's how we move on from the shitty things that happen to us or that we do that shows who really are as people.
Mike Mchugh it’s really not that noticeable and any decent cover work would probably stretch on to his hand making his tats visible with long sleeves/ business attire. I suppose you could go the other way but that would probably interfere with existing tattoos
My guess is bc it is difficult to tattoo yourself on your right arm if you are a right handed person Joe could get someone else to cover it up. It's a very noticeable place even with long sleeves so you would want a good artist doing a good cover up
Joe you ever considered going back too school and getting a Bachelor's in counseling with a masters in physiology . With APPS I am sure and know you help more people than you can imagine now imagine yourself with college degrees.. You'd be the bomb bro

I think there would be a lot to document for APS. but I don't think he would major in Psychology I think he would do something like Communications since that's more in line with someone that runs a show.

May I suggest start taking a a vitamin named niacin. I take a high dose in morn and again in eve. It took about three months before I was able to clearly see a major lift in my mind. 👍

Joe that’s crazy! I’m from Niagara Falls Canada , and just finished serving a 5 year prison term for an assault charge. I have the word REDRUM in red letter up my left forearm(a quote from my favourite horror flick the shinning) and I guess there’s a gang in the greater Toronto area known as The redrum gang. So being a white dude “affiliated” with a mainly black gang caused me some grief with the parole board

Dude, it's amazing to me how open you are about your time in prison. It's hard to open up about things you regret but you really do help others out here understand what's going on. Even getting a tattoo in the free world you should know what connotations it has if any. I think you made a stupid mistake in the heat of the moment. I have only one tattoo my MJK Norwegian special forces moniker a anker a horse and wings, I moved to a high Muslim area and it caused massive problems, I still held up my game and never lost a fight including people with knives but I don't look for trouble it finds.
Thats what tattoos are for. They build character. A story. And that's just what this is. Even though it mY show a past that is long gone, it is a friendly reminder of how far you have come today.
Anyway joe we all make mistakes and have constant reminders of them. I have one on my arm, it’s not quite a tattoo. It’s a scar that came from a mistake I made. It’s a constant reminder of a shitty time in my life but you know if I didn’t get that scar, I never would’ve learned the lesson I learned. That scar now reminds me of how strong I am. It reminds me of where I was and where I am now in life. I’m a totally different person. That scar like your tattoo is a part of me and a part of my story and although I hate it, I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Joe met him on a Craigslist ad, that Joe put out to find somebody who could help record & edit videos. Then after working together after awhile they became friends. There’s a video about it, I believe it’s called “How Cody & I met” or something along those lines

It is but I don't think it's exclusive to prison, I think the thing with prison is that if you can't look at them and know what they mean then you probably have no business knowing anyway. So asking can be kind of offensive to more hostile people. Which is pretty stupid in my opinion. Outside of prison it's kind of a grey area because tattoos can be so abstract and vague. But my family artist told me when I got my first tattoo at 16. That your ink is supposed to be a way to express yourself, to tell people who you are without using words. He said that whether it's your whole life story on your arms or just one event on your shoulder, if a person can't look at them, read them and know exactly who you are and what you're about then it's either a stupid person or a poorly done tattoo, no matter how great it looks. So with that way of thinking some guys can kind of be like....."really guy??" Lol You know? But sometimes people ask just to start conversation and it's extremely annoying when someone points at one of my most obvious tattoos and says "so what's that mean" and I have to explain to them that it means I'm now an American lol Or sometimes it's just sensitive stuff that people have trouble talking about and can get a little ruffled when you ask. But I don't think it's really that way anymore, at least not in this culture. alot of people just get a bunch of cool looking shit just because it looks cool.
You should cover it up even if it doesn't change the clasification just so you can be done with it and also if you decide to get a lawyer in the future the judge will wonder why you kept it on your body for so long if it doesn't have any meaning to you and even only caused you problems. We all still love you buddy!!!

Bro you may want to still get that covered up. Even though it wont change the problems you've had in the past, it could prevent future problems in the free world. Plus when you do stand in front of the judge, it would look a lot better for you if that tattoo was no longer visible. I've gotten a gang tattoo not knowing what all went with the ink and caused problems for myself too. I have mine covered up now so that way even though i had run ins with people in my past, i have a clean slate when i meet new people.

May I suggest start taking a a vitamin named niacin. I take a high dose in morn and again in eve. It took about three months before I was able to clearly see a major lift in my mind. 👍

Joe that’s crazy! I’m from Niagara Falls Canada , and just finished serving a 5 year prison term for an assault charge. I have the word REDRUM in red letter up my left forearm(a quote from my favourite horror flick the shinning) and I guess there’s a gang in the greater Toronto area known as The redrum gang. So being a white dude “affiliated” with a mainly black gang caused me some grief with the parole board

Dude, it's amazing to me how open you are about your time in prison. It's hard to open up about things you regret but you really do help others out here understand what's going on. Even getting a tattoo in the free world you should know what connotations it has if any. I think you made a stupid mistake in the heat of the moment. Thats what tattoos are for. They build character. A story. And that's just what this is. Even though it mY show a past that is long gone, it is a friendly reminder of how far you have come today.

Anyway joe we all make mistakes and have constant reminders of them. I have one on my arm, it’s not quite a tattoo. It’s a scar that came from a mistake I made. It’s a constant reminder of a shitty time in my life but you know if I didn’t get that scar, I never would’ve learned the lesson I learned. That scar now reminds me of how strong I am. It reminds me of where I was and where I am now in life. I’m a totally different person. That scar like your tattoo is a part of me and a part of my story and although I hate it, I wouldn’t want it any other way.

It is but I don't think it's exclusive to prison, I think the thing with prison is that if you can't look at them and know what they mean then you probably have no business knowing anyway. So asking can be kind of offensive to more hostile people. Which is pretty stupid in my opinion. Outside of prison it's kind of a grey area because tattoos can be so abstract and vague. But my family artist told me when I got my first tattoo at 16. That your ink is supposed to be a way to express yourself, to tell people who you are without using words. He said that whether it's your whole life story on your arms or just one event on your shoulder, if a person can't look at them, read them and know exactly who you are and what you're about then it's either a stupid person or a poorly done tattoo, no matter how great it looks. So with that way of thinking some guys can kind of be like....."really guy??" Lol You know?
But sometimes people ask just to start conversation and it's extremely annoying when someone points at one of my most obvious tattoos and says "so what's that mean" and I have to explain to them that it means I'm now an American lol
Or sometimes it's just sensitive stuff that people have trouble talking about and can get a little ruffled when you ask.
But I don't think it's really that way anymore, at least not in this culture. alot of people just get a bunch of cool looking shit just because it looks cool.

You should cover it up even if it doesn't change the clasification just so you can be done with it and also if you decide to get a lawyer in the future the judge will wonder why you kept it on your body for so long if it doesn't have any meaning to you and even only caused you problems. We all still love you buddy!!!

Bro you may want to still get that covered up. Even though it wont change the problems you've had in the past, it could prevent future problems in the free world. Plus when you do stand in front of the judge, it would look a lot better for you if that tattoo was no longer visible. I've gotten a gang tattoo not knowing what all went with the ink and caused problems for myself too. I have mine covered up now so that way even though i had run ins with people in my past, i have a clean slate when i meet new people.
