「 Soulless 」 it did make sense, thank you for taking the time to explain :). But in that case, do you actually “hate” the person or do you just (strongly) dislike them? If someone made fun of you everyday in front of your classmates and made you feel all kinds of wrong, then o think it would be possible to actually hate the person. But if it’s just someone from your class who didn’t let you borrow his pen, or someone who always talks over the teacher or someone who is always disrupting the class bc he’s late, I don’t think that’s called hate. But in general I think the saying just means that no one is born hating, you’re either taught or you learn it through own experiences throughout life

Not everyone who is traumatized gets PTSD, trauma itself is horrible to go through, PTSD is failure to recover from trauma. We can't say whether or not a person has PTSD by looking at them, you need to run formal diagnosis and tests. 😊🤗 I'm saying this so that we don't use words like that without actually knowing if a person has the disorder
There are chances, but we don't know.

    • @boelsboel2208
      @boelsboel2208 Před 4 lety +17

Soundarya ptsd post traumatic stress disorder is when an individual has had a tramautic event happen in their life some of the symptoms(i know its not called symptoms but i dont know the english Word for it) include shaking, flashbacks etc so even though you cant with full certainty say a person has ptsd without actually doing a psychology thingy (once again I don’t know the English word for it) you can pretty much tell by looking at behaviour and other things.

    • @YN-ld3mh
      @YN-ld3mh Před 4 lety +21

@@boelsboel2208 yeah, it occurs when a person fails to recover from the trauma. As a psychologist under training, I'd suggest that people don't make assumptions on mental health unless provided with a diagnosis.
Psychologists are not sure why some individuals get PTSD, while others don't. It's a mental illness that occurs when a person fails to recover or manage their trauma.
What you're describing CAN BE be the symptoms of trauma than PTSD.
I've listed SYMPTOMS OF TRAUMA here:
      Emotional & psychological symptoms:
      Shock, denial, or disbelief
      Confusion, difficulty concentrating
      Anger, irritability, mood swings
      Anxiety and fear
      Guilt, shame, self-blame
      Withdrawing from others
      Feeling sad or hopeless
      Feeling disconnected or numb
      Physical symptoms:
      Insomnia or nightmares
      Fatigue
      Being startled easily
      Difficulty concentrating
      Racing heartbeat
      Edginess and agitation
      Aches and pains
Muscle tension. (I copy pasted this.)
PTSD isn't something you could self diagnose, you must go through formal testing, we say this because what you're going through could be trauma or another disorder. The whole point is to not assume others mental illnesses.
It's classified as trauma and stressor related disorder. (I can give more details from DSM 5if you're interested in it ,or I can give the code for you to refer if you have a DSM or someone you know has one😊)
Edit: you can study about the disorder on the internet or books, so that when you're family member or a friend seems to show sign, you should ultimately bring them to a professional, you're not supposed to assume because you're not0 qualified enough or trained for it.
Only mental health care professional can say if a person has a disorder, BUT even we cannot and shouldn't determine/confirm and continue with the therapy or prescribe medications (that's a psychiatrist's job, however, a psychologist can prescribe antidepressants) unless we've ran tests.

The reason why it isn’t deemed as high as if a white person was racist towards a Black person is because racism has A LOT to do with power, before you say no it isn’t, do some damn research, white people will always have a higher power than any person that isn’t white. This country was built off of genocides and hatred towards anyone that wasn’t white or a women, and in today’s world, that can be proven valid as well. Comment Written In all the documentaries I've seen, before anyone can officially join a gang, the members of the gang would beat up the "initiate" to an inch of their life to test their commitment, and as a warning not to betray the gang. If anyone wanted out of the gang, they would have to go through the same thing otherwise likely be killed. It wouldn't surprise me though if many would die from the the beat down to get out of the gang. The beat downs would alway draw blood, hence the saying, " blood in, blood out." I hope this was helpful.

Im sobbing. I just want to hug him. I study the afterlife & stuff, when people survive insane near death experiences & events where they should’ve died - they’re supposed to be here. He’s supposed to be here even if it’s just to make this video. No telling who he & this video has reached & made them want to change too. This is probably one of the most beautiful videos I’ve ever seen. Man, if you ever see this, know how happy & proud me & so many others are of you. & if any racists see this, we love you too even if you don’t love us. We don’t understand why you hate us so much when all we want to do is love you & unite & be treated equally. I could never understand why racists hate people of color so much because We never did anything to deserve it. We’re all human beings. I was the first mixed child in a family of racists & I loved the hate away. My great grandparents became my best friends even though they wanted nothing to do with me at first, mostly my granny & my granny sent my twin uncles to beat my 16 year old mother with a bat while she was pregnant with me to make her miscarry because I was going to be half black. Just to give an example of how racist they were. They decided to keep me one time & fell in love with me & ended up basically raising me. It was part of my life contract to change their hearts & I did. Every other great grandkid ended up being mixed too. My papaw was never really openly racist growing up at least not in front of me, it was mostly before I was born & it was my granny who was more openly racist during my lifetime but he was lowkey & secretly a little prejudice (my great aunt said it was really bad when they were growing up but it died down by the time I was born) & guess who ended up taking care of him in the last years of his life & fed, bathed, & changed his diaper & was his friends, black people. The people he hated the most. They were his home healthcare aids. The universe is funny like that. Life is so much better when you lead with love. Love always wins.

Ignore the trolls & morons. I wish my kids' father seemed to have the same kind of genuine sincerity & good heart, that ur cousin's guy seems to:) Glad it sounds like you're supportive of him- in any situation, esp everything he has gone through, & will go through- it will make a huge difference for him, & a positive future, if he knows he's got the support of some people, as opposed to trying to do everything solo.

They said estimate..50 hours. Even giving time for the editing and video production... probably still in process. Especially since it's free you probably only get like .... Session a month.

I realise it will take a long time before it's finished, but I just think Vice shouldn't have hurried with getting this video out. Would've been interesting to actually see some results in the end

I'd say this video is about more than just "covering up a tattoo"; Even mainly about the "Erasing the Hate" part

the shame in his face when he shows the tattoo artist makes me know this man is changed! Proud of this guy

Damn brother.... You shoulda just sat and knocked it out in one sitting!!! Unless it was the artist not wanting to finish. If it was a pain factor, use the pain and suffering your feeling inside from the choices you made, use it to drive and strengthen your morale, character, integrity, principals, soul, pain and on and on. There's hope and people like you guys, the shop and so many other people(s) just like y'all are what the world and the nay-sayers need to see, to be inspired for change, to have their heart strings tugged, to seek God. GodBless you guys 🙏👍💪🍻

My heart goes out to this man. The brokeness in his eyes. He looks so much older, than he probably is. I pray he will find some closure and peace at the end of his journey. I hope he realizes how important he is and how loved! He survived so much!

People change, we have to accept that. People can go down a wrong path but we all need to forgive the wrongs people do sometimes.
Edit: Because when they have learned what they have done, and we refuse them. Tragedy will only continue to happen

seeing all these people mature, completely change their outlook & become educated is heart warming. seeing the shame & guilt they have really shows how serious they are now about living their new lives. props to them for having the strength to leave these brotherhoods/gangs knowing about the violent consequences that could very well happen. people CAN change. if they want it bad enough, they'll get it. so proud of these people
