My guess would be a 3D Mario and Mario Kart in the first 1-2 months … since there was no „real/new“ Mario Kart for Switch
i have insider info. Nintendo will re-release Mario's Game Gallery 2 for launch. Along with this, they will also sell a Virtual Boy-mini console where you put the goggles against your nostrils and use smell and your nose to play. This might be 100% confirmed.
@@SoyAntonioGamingok buddy I HAVE insider info, and super Mario 65 is coming out day 1, you are WRONG
But yes the smelling device is real
It’s all good guys, I HAVE inside info that GTA VI will be the Switch 2 launch title.
おっしゃる通りです。
💯🈹同感です
@@IamThatChris Would be funnier if GTA V would be a launch title since it was never ported to a Nintendo console and Rockstar Games should be experienced enough now to port GTA V to every new console since 2013 (minus the Nintendo consoles) 😂😅
In term of ports, I think games from 2018 - 2020 and less demanding current gen and cross gen games will be in high demand. Games like FF7 Remake, Red Dead Redemption 2, Elden Ring, RE4 Remake, Persona 3 Reload, Sea of Thieves, Genshin Impact, Psychonauts 2, Sekiro, DMC5, Tomb Raider reboot games, Final Fantasy 14, Jedi Fallen Order, Control, Star Wars Squadrons, Kena Bridge of Spirits, Armored Core 6, Lies of P, Street Fighter 6, Diablo 4, any major Ubisoft games from the past decade.
My theory is that Bowsers Fury was a test and proof of concept for...
A proper open world Mushroom Kingdom 3D MARIO!!!
This is exactly right. Come back here when it’s announced.
@@ansettaustralia 🤣
Seems obvious to me but yea.
Hey… this is it! Definitely.
I think I'd love that!
I think big 3rd party port will be Elden Ring given the good relationship between Bandai Namco and Nintendo. I also would not surprise if we see some of the newer Final Fantasy games.
I don't think Nintendo has a particularly good relationship with Bandai Namco, there's plenty of Namco titles that were missing on the Switch, like Tekken and Soul Calibur, not to mention most of the Bandai Namco titles that the Switch got tended to be late ports of anime games and just this year they'll port Ace Combat 7.
Elden Ring isn't a title that I would necessarily believe it's going to be a game changer for both companies relationship, but I think it'll be more of how the Switch got Skyrim in its first year
I also forgot to mention, while I think that Bandai Namco has made quite huge mistakes with the Switch, at least they have published several games. With Elden Ring the situation is also different, since it is actually a From Software developed game, and From Soft has never had a close relationship with Nintendo
@@pablocasas5906 Banda Namco has 2 studios exclusively makes Nintendo games. They are called studio 2 and studio s. They are developer for Smash Brothers franchise. Also Nintendo, during wii u era, got lots of help from Bandai Namco while adapting hd development. They worked on lots of 1st party Nintendo games and for some of them they took ownership of the project.
@@pablocasas5906 Bandai Namco has entire internal teams devoted to making Nintendo games. Pokken, Smash Bros, New Pokemon Snap, even the original MP4 was being developed by a Bandai Namco studio. Not to mention the Mario Baseball games, Donkey Konga, and Mario Kart GP Arcade titles in prior gens. There isn't a single other major publisher Nintendo has a better relationship with.
As far as From Soft goes, they self publish in Japan without Bandai Namco. You have to keep in mind that FS games have performance issues even on powerful hardware (Bloodborne and DS3 were infamous examples), and their meteoric rise happened while the Wii U was absolutely struggling. Miyazaki has praised Nintendo several times in interviews, and considering how dominant Nintendo is in Japan, it would make a lot of sense for Nintendo and From to work together going forward.
They’ve had a pretty good relationship in the last decade or so though. Helped develop SSB4. Tried their hand at Metroid Prime 4 even though that didn’t work out. Put DS1 on a cart and even had the whole network test for it. They wouldn’t have done that if they didn’t care about the experience on the switch. A $79.99 complete edition of Elden Ring on the successor would sell very well. Would like to see how much they could fit physically in one package though. Also, Miyazaki has always maintained that games like Ocarina of Time sparked his interest in video games. I know he’s not the end all on the decision, but I’m sure if it were a possibility then he wouldn’t oppose it. That being said, I would imagine they would try Sekiro or DS3 before that though. My gut says something like Tales of Arise though. GTA5 or RDR2 is more likely than any of the from games. Sell GTA5 on one last platform before GTA6 comes out.
I’m expecting a brand new 3D Mario on launch day and Mario Kart 9 in the first months.
There's been rumors floating around of FF7 Remake being shown on Switch 2 in behind closed door showcases. Would not surprise me if that is a Day One third party port to show off the power of the console.
And Visions of Mana. That's definitely coming.
I hope it plays at 60fps
It would be interesting to compare it to the PC version running on Steam Deck with optimized settings. I think the more interesting thing will be that if we get Remake on Switch 2, we will also expect Rebirth which is a way more demanding game.
@alistairblaire6001 Rebirth I think is still possible. It would defintley need to be stripped back a bit in graphics but it's doable.
Part 3 I am pretty sure is probably gonna make the base PS5 cry. Given the rate of demand from Remake to Rebirth then part 3's performance mode is gonna run at a gnarly 720p lol.
@@Powerman293 The wise thing to do (assuming they are serious about their new multi-platform strategy) would be to scale back the "ambition" of these projects a bit. If they insist on bleeding edge tech, that limits the amount of platforms they can put the games on.
Red Dead redemption 2, Mario Kart 9, new Mario, prime and tears
Botw is more likely
Mario Kart 10. Nintendo counts the mobile Mario Kart as the ninth title in the franchise
I got a feeling an Ocarina of Time remake is coming.
They already did that bruh 😂
Please no, it's on Nintendo switch already on NSO and it already has a remake on the 3ds.
Like a full remake using the assets and world of BoTW/ ToTK...
I know ray tracing was brought up in some of the leaked chips so I really think we will see a Nintendo game that focuses heavily on light and the way its cast
New 3D Mario, Mario kart 9, smash.
or maybe starfox? or a brand new 3D Donkey Kong..?
Hear me out. They've done three Pilotwings games (SNES, N64, 3DS) to showcase "this system can do THIS?"
Pilotwings 4...K.
but we're not getting a 4k switch 2, it will be 1440p at best if I had to guess.
@@Omar-ih1lz I'd be more than happy with 1440p 60fps.
I'd like to see a new Wave Race and 1080 Snowboarding.
Doubt it.
Ha! I love it XD
Probably just 3D Mario on Day 1 if we’re talking big sellers, Metroid isn’t a big enough IP to where MP4 can carry an entire system launch alone (this is *ESPECIALLY* true for Japan). Mario Kart 10 (Nintendo seems to view Tour as 9) can hold down the summer, while Animal Crossing 6 would be their big holiday game.
too many big games at once. first year those of us who've been waiting for a Switch Pro for years will be the early adopters _switching_ over to Switch 2, so nintendo will get those massive sales from us the first year. New AC can be released later down the road to cater to the casual and female audience to upgrade :)
Switch 2 has apparently been ready since last year. I believe they are holding back the console for a new 3D Mario game to be ready to ship. Nintendo can hold back their hardware until the software is ready while with everyone else the hard deadline is shipping the hardware with no regards to software lineup. Its a huge advantage to Nintendo controlling the hardware/software stack.
They’ve been pretty good at keeping some things under wraps lately.. all I know is I hope they are able to excite us when they do decide to throw out a Switch 2 teaser trailer. Definitely hoping for a new 3D Mario.
A new 3D Mario for sure. Mario Kart 9, Animal Crossing, Kirby, a 1-2 Switch type "gimmick" release. You'll likely see a deluge of 3rd parties (especially Capcom, Square-Enix, and Ubisoft, and maybe Sega-Atlus too) porting over most if not all of the games they couldn't bring to OG Switch. I can also see Falcom doing re-releases/performance boosts for their older Switch titles, much as they had with PS5.
Let’s look at their studios. EPD 1 no longer exists. EPD 2 mostly works with 3rd party studios. EPD 3 is Zelda team, with both TotK and EoW so recently they won’t have anything new ready to go. EPD 4 will probably have a 1-2 Switch type tech demo for release, but that barely counts. EPD 5 is likely focusing on Animal Crossing rather than Splatoon, so I’d expect an AC game coming launch year. EPD 6 might be collaborating on partners on Luigi’s Mansion 4, a new Paper Mario, and/or a new WarioWare, in addition to their production work on Metroid Prime 4. LM4 might actually be a system seller with how well 3 sold on Switch, so maybe put a bet down for that. EPD 7 does minigame collections and 2D Metroid, so maybe Metroid 6? EPD 8 is 3D Mario, discussed in the video. EPD 9 does Mario Kart, which we should expect launch year. EPD 10 probably won’t have a game ready for launch, but maybe Pikmin 5 and/or Mario Maker 3 will be coming soon-ish. And that’s all their studios.
Echoes of Wisdom is probably Grezzo.
I really doubt AC first year. It’s such a big game. I think 2nd or 3rd year makes way more sense. Better buildup too. Smash Bros probably before AC. AC came out way after Smash Bros and had a DLC kinda recently in today’s world of gaming. But I would be all for it if it happens.
@@Ray-dl5mp It'll be over three years since Happy Home Paradise when the Switch 2 launches, so I wouldn't rule it out completely.
@@logicalfundy yea it’s a good point by you. You could argue Mario kart might only be slightly over a year since the dlc ended when next one comes out. And Mario Kart and Animal Crossing are their 2 biggest franchises currently so why wouldn’t they try to make the most money with them possible you could argue. Any gap with those games is just wasted revenue. But I also like that about Nintendo that they like the buildup so the releases still feel impactful.
@@Ray-dl5mp Agree. Although with Mario Kart - it kinda baffles me that we haven't had a truly new and original title at all this generation, with Mario Kart 8 being a Wii U title. It also feels like the booster course pack was the team doing some testing for the next game. It's really strange they all of the sudden showed up with a bunch of tracks after being silent for so long.
I think realistically we're gonna see a few new Switch 2 games and ports of Switch 1 games.
At this point, I expect switch 2 won't launch until late 2025. I agree Mario Odyssey 2 or Mario Kart 9 is likely to be a launch game. The big question is whether they have a plan to dual launch their games going forward, like MP4 and Pokemon.
It'll be "Mario Rabbids Go To Space" and it'll be a space shooter like star fox
I'm betting on a new F-Zero game, by Shin'en, the guys who did the Fast RMX launch title for Switch
Geez, this far along, I realised I have thought of Mario Odyssey as a launch title for many years now! I’m hoping that, seeing I have yet to get to TOTK, I get to play through enhanced on Switch 2 next year.
I really hope the online service is not another full reset and then waiting on a trickle of retro games and is just a continuation of the switch library, tbh i would be more hyped for better running switch 1 games lol
Nintendo have stated that they're looking to continue with Switch Online going forward, meaning everything will most likely just transfer when you log into your account on the next console.
I would really just expect that, plus maybe another console added to the library early on at some point.
@@amadeus.7436 It would just make sense if they did a vertical mode where you could turn it sideways for DS games. A sideways Switch is pretty perfect for mimicking two DS screens on top of each other.
I decided I wasn't going to tolerate this the first time they pulled it with the Wii U. Been emulating since and having a much better time.
@@richtersundeen6105 That's fair yeah, although I don't know if all mechanics from DS games would translate properly.
Some games used the microphone of the DS, and some had you blow air on the bottom screen and I don't know if the Switch's screen is sensitive enough.
Plus restricting most DS games to only be playable in handheld mode would be a shame. Even ones that don't heavily feature touch controls usually has something like a menu be touch-screen only. DS on NSO will be a hassle no matter what they do tbh.
Pretty sure we'll get GameCube before DS anyway, and maybe some older stuff too like Arcade, Virtual Boy, 64DD, Game & Watch and Satellaview.
That would be retarded of them not to just carry over current nso and eshop with everyone's library. It needs to be fast though and not so damn sluggish.
Id like to see meaningful upgrades to current games stuck at 30 fps in handheld mode, now running at smooth 60 with textures ane lighting and hopefully some exclusive dlc content. In terms of new games il like a 3d donkey kong, new f zero game, mario kart double dash 2, wave race 3, and maybe some remasters or remakes from gamecube era ... Thinking zeldas, some mario sport games etc
I think MP4, a new 3D Mario and a new Mario Kart are pretty much guaranteed in the launch window, or at least launch year. This gives them a single player game with a mainstream appeal, a sp game with core gaming appeal and a multiplayer game, covering all their bases (although MP4 might have multiplayer too, who knows?)
we're obviously not gonna see a new 3d zelda anytime soon, but a "4k port" of tww and twilight princess close to launch doesn't sound unlikely
and I can almost guarantee we're gonna see a cyberpunk 2077 port
Put Switch 2 news and speculation directly into my veins! ❤
If they launched with Mario Kart 9 I think the Gaming World would explode, especially if it's pushing visuals not possible on Switch.
That would move the most units but personally, I'm hoping for an Epic Mario or Zelda experience day 1 or a brand new IP
A BOTW/TOTK all in one where you can go from one to another by using the time song with an ocarina while staying on the same place on the map !!!
Nintendo usually presents a new experience with each new console. Maybe 3D screen, camera, AR/VR.
3D Mario (and Metroid 4) at launch and Mario Kart 10 for x-mas would be more than enough in terms of big hitters, but I doubt they will be that aggressive.
Cant wait for Mario Kart 8 Super Deluxe
Mario Kart 8 Double Deluxe+ and Skyrim ofc
Baby not long here but something I can definitely see in the first 2 years of its system life is the fourth of Luigi Mansion game. The third entry already looks absolutely bonkers on the switch prompting a lot of people I knew who initially saw it and doubting that it was running on actual hardware. Now imagine something that's way more powerful and it that can also do Ray tracing, which would do wonders for the ghost transparency effects and reflections we normally see in these games.
Mario 3D, Mario Kart, and Metroid Prime 4 plus a bunch of third party ports is all they need for like the whole first year tbh. Covers all their bases. Smash on like the second year.
I still feel like Silksong will be a timed exclusive launch title.
I'm pretty sure CoD wll be on the new system, we already know there was some sort of deal between the companies
Not to mention that the executives at Activision admitted that they were wrong not supporting the Switch, because they thought the system was going to be a failure
New 3D Mario & Mario Kart 9 should be there at launch, or close to it. I think that‘s a given.
Elden Ring could be Switch 2s Skyrim. Put it in the Trailer!
I’d love to see a Bowsers Fury 2! An open world Mario would be awesome.
Breath of the Wild was developed for the WiiU and ported to the switch. I played it on WiiU and it ran surprisingly very well
What is that boomer zoom podcast and why did I actually enjoyed this video? Good shit!
welcome to Digital Foundry
New 3d Mario, cross gen smash upgrade/maybe new dlc, cross gen totk upgrade/maybe new dlc, and new Mario kart in first party. Main problem is how they’re gonna get people to want to double dip with Xbox one era games that didn’t get ported. It’s like the Wii U all over again
Hopefully we see developers/publishers of the myriad "impossible ports" go back and upgrade, but odds are they'll charge upgrade fees or just re-release on Switch 2 with a "fuck you pay me again"
Another Smash Bros & MarioKart im guessing will launch. Plus more unwanted Rabbids stuff 😂
The next Nintendo console (if it's backwards-compatible, of course) doesn't really need a lot of first party "AAA" games. It really only needs one for the first year, to sell the console, and that's going to be Metroid Prime 4. Other than that, Nintendo can just do their thing and release games within their well-established IP's. I think it'll be more interesting to see what other publishers do with the console. I'm expecting just a massive amount of current-gen games to be ported.
Mario Kart 9. Mario Odyssey 2. Metroid Prime 4 for both Switch and Switch 2.
I'd love a starfox game as a visual showcase like the original game, or 64, and even adventures (to some extent) were.
A crazy thing would be shin'en working on that old rumored Star Fox Grand Prix from some years ago 😂
They need first party ip, that does what launch games are supposed to do; show off the power of the hardware. I got a GameCube at launch because Luigi’s mansion looked amazing. The cloth being sucked up and the lighting my eyes twinkled. I want a Mario/luigi game that looks awesome in 3d
Mario vs Godzilla
New Mariokart on day one, 3D Mario for the first Fall.
Feels like a Luigis Mansion coming to me.
I would love a, from-the-ground-up, remaster of Twilight Princess. Nintendo consoles have never been about graphical power but it would be cool to have a modern looking TP to show off how good the Switch 2 can look
F-zero is an option, they’ve tested the waters with the switch online version.
I think Monster Hunter Wilds will be a Switch 2 game day one!
I think this one is a bit of a longshot since MH Wilds isn't coming out on last gen platforms.
They’re in kind of a weird place with regards to dev schedules. We might see a new Star Fox or 2D Metroid. Maybe something brand new.
Star fox lol
@@ausgod538 Yeah, I know. I only say that because their other franchises have been tapped recently and I think they're gonna need a deep pull.
More likely than F-Zero, I think.
Ocarina of Time Remake would be sweet. Hopefully someday!!
I'm hoping for a new Mario Glaxy game, it's been a while
I’d rather see something entirely new, and I imagine that’s what they’re doing. I don’t think EPD Tokyo has any interest in revisiting the Galaxy concept. They were already scraping the bottom of the barrel of ideas with Galaxy 2 as it is.
If Bowser’s Fury is any indication, we’ll probably see a new game that plays similarly to that.
I wonder if Cloud games will be available day one, as a cross-buy…
You joke but I would absolutely love Jedi Survivor going to Switch 2 lol. Frankly I'm hoping for it.
Skyrim was one of the titles featured heavily on the original switch. Elden Ring will be ‘that’ for switch 2.
Next year is Mario's 40th anniversary, so i expect a bunch of mario releases and events. Probably a new 3D mario and a spinoff title like mario kart. Maybe a collection like they did in the past? Problem is 90% of main mario games are already playable on switch. They can do a 3D Land HD Port, Mario Galaxy 2...or any of the New Super Mario Bros (DS, Wii and 2).
Mario kart, 3D Mario, uhh mystery game, big third party game, Luigi's Mansion 4, Splatoon 4 (within first year and a half), random console demo style game, Halo 1+2 remakes (in a couple years), fire emblem etc.
It feels too soon for another Splatoon, especially considering they only recently finished new content for 3 & haven’t given us the final Splattest yet.
@@Neoxon619 i don't mean on laun more a year and half after range
Shin'en should get access to F-Zero and make a new one. They have show they are capable of pushing hardware they just need that Nintendo touch to the track designs.
I bet Metroid Prime 4 will be there for launch. Could be accompanied by Mario but I'm pretty sure MP4 will be right there regardless
Third party games like RE 2, 3, 4 Remake and RE 7 and 8 would be awesome, FF7 remake, DMC 5, etc.
Fast RMX Successor, Skyrim Special Edition for Switch
GTA 5, Fortnite etc
I just hope the next Mario Kart is a launch window title
Can we get some DF Compelling t-shirts please?
Mario Kart 9 and Metroid Prime 4 will be launch titles for the Switch NEXT...Resident Evil 4 remake may also be a launch title
I really hope Nintendo has an ace under it's sleeve because the competition in the handheld market is way more fierce now than back in 2017.
Mario kart 9 would be a shocker
Ocarina of Time AND Majora's Mask ultra HD remake. adding hard difficulty modes (twice as many enemies, woth more difficult enemies appearing frequently, dealing double damage, taking half damage, and having more advanced ai, along with hearts and magic appearing sparsely) and new post-end game content for both games would just top it off to the next level. imagine brand new dlc for those legendary titles. I would lose my shit.
3rd party elden Ring and baldurs gate 3 make a lot of sense.
Late, but assuming March 2025?
Launch Date, in order of confidence:
1. New 3D Mario (Last new game? Either 4/7.5 years ago.)
2. New Animal Crossing (Last new game? 5 years ago.)
3. Pokemon Legends Z-A (Last new game? 3 years ago.)
4. Splatoon 4 (Last new game? 2.5 years ago.)
5. New Mario Kart (Last new game? Even counting Live Home Circuit, that'd still be about 4.5 years ago.)
6. Metroid Prime 4 (Last Metroid Prime game? 18 years ago.)
Launch Window (Rest of March-June 2025):
Fire Emblem Echoes: Genealogy of the Holy War
New 3D Kirby
The Loud House: The Game (SOMEONE got the solo Loud House license. Would not be surprised if Nintendo low-key snapped it up. The big questions are: How long have they been working on this (if they have), what's the story, how many Loud siblings are playable, and how robustly constructed is every playable sibling's gameplay?)
Kid Icarus: Uprising HD
New Chibi Robo
New Star Fox
(So the launch date is 6 first party games that could sell a system and the launch window is another 6 first party games where "we know these couldn't sell a system, but...they still make sense to create a robust release calendar early on.")
It's going to be Mario kart 9. This will sell the console
YYEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!! THANK YOU DIGITAL FOUNDRY!!!
SWITCH SUPER BABYYY!!!!!!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
By the time Switch 2 comes out, it will be 8 years since the previous mainline Mario game. That is if you don't count Wonder and Maker 2, which I don't consider mainline. I'm honestly surprised that we didn't get an Odyssey 1.5 in a similar fashion to Galaxy to Galaxy 2.
How is Super mario bros wonder not mainline?! Its literally the newest 2d mario game in 11 years.
Starfox 3 would be awesome. No fancy subtitles, just Starfox 3.
I would say the system will launch with Metroid prime 4, with Mario kart 9 coming with in a few months
Metroid’s current sales peak is just over 3 million with Dread, it’s nowhere near big enough to hold down an entire console launch by itself.
They will probably put a lot of old PS4 games there as "new"... Elden Ring, now on Switch! Resident evil 4, now on Switch! And have a lot people open their mouth. Prime 4 cross platform, a new Mario Kart would be the biggest thing IMO
You will just have to wait another year or two
.. or six for a port that is already available on Steamdeck.
Because 3rd parties need installed base first, before porting.
I believe Capcom will port all of the modern RE games to the Switch's successor, i.e. VII, 2R, 3R, Village and 4R, though they can't release them all of them at the same time, I don't know how are they going to approach releasing them.
Street Fighter 6 and Devil May Cry V are also good candidates. I don't know if Monster Hunter Wilds could run on the Switch 2, perhaps Capcom will develop a MH: Rise type game or just port MH: World
@@pablocasas5906 they are available on Steamdeck right now at the same time, lol.
Zelda totk 60fps please
I rhink mario kart 9 or 10 ( id they count tour) is the obvious day one release.
I think Metroid Prime 4 will be cross gen, and Mario Kart 9, will be Switch 2 launch exclusive.
I expect a lot of high quality must play games at launch until sales start to slow unless they don’t want to sell a lot of units and I expect them to branch out maybe release more experimental consoles, games etc. they’ll most likely support the Nintendo switch 1 for at least 5-10 more years don’t know about when or if they will ever shut down the servers and stop accepting repairs depends on how successful it stays its essentially their low entry point for Nintendo’s games and they’ll probably keep making games like how they supported the 3ds when the Nintendo switch launched and us fans got annoyed 😅 but I appreciate it looking back now and regret not
Giving the 3ds and Wii U more attention
My guess would be super mario kart ,an even more updated mario kart 8,all the dlc tracks, some new Nintendo characters,a new battle royal type mode.
super mario kart is the name of the first game
Xenogears remake from Monolithsoft and Squaresoft. ;)
Metroid Prime 4 will probably be a cross gen release like how Zelda BotW was for Wii U and Switch. Can also see Smash Ultimate Deluxe like how Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was.
Sakurai specifically sets out to make each Smash game he works in be distinct, hence why we got Brawl on the Wii instead of Melee HD. Between that, the potential licensing hurdles, & the Switch 2 reportedly being backwards compatible, I wouldn’t get your hopes up for a Deluxe port of Ultimate.
As for MP4, you’d need a game that better appeals to the mainstream audience at launch alongside it. Metroid is a series whose current sales peak is just over 3 million, that’s not an IP you bet your entire console launch on.
People probably prefer Smash Ultimate Deluxe rather than new Smash game with significantly smaller roaster. But Smash Ultimate Deluxe would be very challenging due to the all the licensing in the game.
@@hododod246 It’s less than it’d be impossible & more that the amount of legal effort necessary would be almost equivalent to a new game. And that’s before we get to backwards compatibility negating the need for a Deluxe port & Sakurai going on record (via his CZcams channel) saying that he’s against the idea of doing an enhanced port of a previous Smash game & calling it a day.
Zelda was a cross-gen title cause the power gap between the Wii U and the Switch wasn't big, no reason to have a cross-gen release here
@rangokfunkazuul8344
No, it's because the Switch needed a game to actually launch with.
The Switch was also not backwards compatible with the Wii U.
I could see Nintendo release in Mario kart 8 Deluxe for Switch 2 as well as Super Mario Odyssey and super smash Bros ultimate but I think there will be an arms type sort of not the exact style but we will definitely see a few new eyepiece from Nintendo with the successor to the current Nintendo switch.
You forgot their biggest seller... Mario Kart. Maybe Smash but that's a risky/tough one and ya whatever the new Mario game is. Also Xenoblade or something else from Monolith.
Personally I hope for Xenoblade and Metroid 6
Mario Kart 9 for sure!
If they have great third party support, I would be happy.
Hardware specs will determine big IP third party support…and for how long. Will the Switch2 be spec’d to be prior gen, current gen, or next gen? We are probably only 3+ years away from next gen consoles from others which will reset third-party development once again. Why would Nintendo change course though? I suspect a lower cost device that will be less powerful than a PS5 that may have some light third party support the first 3 years and then will rely on major first party releases the second half of its lifecycle.
Well the current switch has massive 3rd party support
@grcigar9911 a handheld more powerful than a ps4 would eat battery life
Will be an easy upgrade for people, Nintendo are going to print money. I guarantee you every game from Switch1 will run, then as long as they have one of their big mainline IP's ready at launch it will go nuts.
Recent Nintendo titles haven't been from their bigger studios. That kind of radio silence has me cautiously optimistic that the launch year of Switch 2 is gonna be full of heavy hitters. Many third party developers had no faith in the Switch after the failure of WiiU, they'll be ready for launch this time.
Most Nintendo games aren't internally it's like a 5050 between contracted and internal, and "Nintendo studios" aren't a thing except for their development subsidiaries.
Im sure third party games will be there but I dont think that the impact will be like „wow thats running on switch 2?!“.
Those games run on steam deck for years. Everybody expects them to tun at least as good on switch 2
New Mario Kart would be my best guess.
I wish they would just get this console out already. I’ve been wanting to get a Switch for my kids but refuse to get an 8 year old console when a new one is clearly close. I have $300 in GameStop gift cards just patiently waiting…
If it's not backward compatible, it's not worth it.
New 3D Super Mario Bros game for sure. Next new Super Smash Bros game that will come later. Zelda Breath of the wild Remake or Remastered. New Monster Hunter game and that is Monster Hunter Wilds.
Pokemon ZA too.
Metroid Prime 4 too.
Little more something else games.
Wind Waker 4k, metroid prime 2 remastered, new mario kart, new mario 3d game.
I want Pokemon Let's Go To Johto!
I could see another fire emblem for release year
Oo that's a good pick
@@willwunsche6940 It’s unlikely to happen considering that the FE4 remake is said to be next in line for just Switch 1.
Hear me out... F-Zero with a gimmick that takes advantage of the increased memory speeds. **I say starving for more F-Zero crumbs**
