Jeff is absolutely right. After Mourinho and Conte, the fans were pleading for attacking football no matter what. Well they got what they wanted, the "matter" being very open at the back and conceding lots of goals. Now they are complaining. Nothing wrong with the club, the board, the manager or the training. Plenty wrong with the mentality - of the Spurs supporters.

This season is the period for Ange to embed the philosophy and style of play on the team. This cannot be reinforced week in week out through switching to ‘plan B’ or sitting back. The style of play is brilliant and the vision is clear to see.

He's out of his depth! Sure he won the Scottish Premiership but then so did Gerrard and look where he is. And he thinks he's playing against Stenhousemuir or Cowdenbeath every week - this is the big league pal and sadly, your previous success (can we call winning the SPL success?) doesn't make a blind bit of difference in the Premiership...

If Ange wasn’t some bloke you’d chat to at the pub and some foreigner with little grasp on the English language, he would have been given a much rougher ride by the media. 4th was very doable for Spurs but they’ve blown it. His style of football is fun to watch but won’t yield any long term success.

@@kevwilliams1 not many expected it but the way the season has panned out I think Spurs will be kicking themselves now. They’ve had no cup runs and only the league to deal with. Chelsea and United have been disastrous while Newcastle are not at the same level as last year. The door was wide open for Spurs and as well as Villa have done overall, they haven’t had a great second half of the season. I don’t see Ange getting Spurs to a higher level than they are now, he’s not a top coach

Ange ball is 100 miles high energy and high press...its like making up for lack ingenuity and guile with chaotic disruption.... it yields quick results but not sustainable long term especially when it does not lead to 3 points on the table . Frank Lampard got a similar start with similar style of play but when the results went the other way the players started losing the belief and motivation to stay with it.

If Tottenham just improved their defence by 50% they would be winning the premier league. When Romero goes forward he must be covered by other players. Tottenham is a new team with a new way of playing. Same with Chelsea. These teams need time concretise their way of play. Now people are saying Arsenal has the best defence. The same players who were criticised for conceding easy set piece goals last season. By the way i believe Tottenham will get the Top 4 spot.
