    Anyone taking that Tottenham job post Kane was in for a rough ride and he’s overachieved. They’ve lost however many goals and assists with him leaving, and the leadership and he’s nearly sneaked a champions league spot with injuries at the back

      @joewhite22 Pƙed 20 dny +1

      Haven't overachieved at all. Even without Kane we have a good team on paper, it's no worse than Villa's who are above us and in the semis of a European competition. We even proved we were a good team without Kane with how we did in the first 10 games.

    • @AK47_.
      @AK47_. Pƙed 20 dny +3

      @@joewhite22this squad is no where near Villa’s standards. Unai addressed the squad’s weaknesses and filled the positions as much as he could. Spurs needed to buy; to replace the players they had 2 years ago. VdV (Replacement for Toby Alderweireld /Jan Vertonghen), Maddison (replacement for Erickson). No replacement for Kane, Porro was a replacement for walker. Undogie replacement for Danny Rose. The squad depth isn’t where it needs to be for any team who want to finish in the top 6. Levy is to blame, not Ange. But it seems no one wants to blame him. They blame all the managers who levy never backs.

      Arteta is a rookie coach. No one expected him to hit the road running and he didn’t. When the wheels come off, it’s a very simple call to fire a rookie coach, and maybe find someone with experience.
      Ange has 27 years of experience. He wasn’t an experiment. He hit the road running, which was great, and then they hit a snag. He won’t and shouldn’t be afforded the same slack that Arteta was given in year 2 and 3.
      There are bigger experienced managers out there that can do it and bring silverware faster than Ange. If Spurs keep Ange despite lack of progress in years 2 and 3, fans should really start questioning the management.

      Spurs fan here and Ange is useless. His system is suicide, it’s so naive it’s unreal. He is completely inflexible, so there is no tactical change based on the opposition or the personnel available, in fact he doesn’t even consider the opposition! The coaching is garbage because he doesn’t even have his own team, so we are using two inexperienced coaches which explains the poor defence and poor attack based on how much possession we have. The set pieces debacle is symptomatic of the problem, zonal marking making it so easy to score against us and he does nothing about it. It’s also worry that the dropoff is at the end of the season and it’s because players have checked out, because they are being set up to fail every game

    The worst thing about Ange is that there is no change in tactics. As I've said many times, all teams in the league are aware of our team's tactical weakness, "exploiting the back space." Even if you lose badly, you use the same tactics in the next game.
    Ange out!

  • @aminshayan9884
    @aminshayan9884 Pƙed 19 dny

    Suggestions that Ange is stubborn and won't change anything are a bit simplistic. He's tried a lot of different configurations, and there are other nuanced changes within games. Execution has been poor by the wrong squad and quite a few players (Son, Mads, Kulu) have faded badly. He definitely does need a set piece coach (dumb not to have a specialist on this), but what he's saying is that it would be dumber to focus on set pieces when there's so much more important stuff to improve on (like scoring frikin goals) . AV could easily drop next 6. A few big scores and a draw against MUFC could do it for 4th.

Ancelotti is the only manager who can get players to consistently play out of their preferred position. Spurs can do it but just not on a consistent (or entire season) basis. I want them to go after Ramsdale, we need a strong keeper who is strong enough to shove players out of the way and save shots. Ramsdale has the experience to help coordinate and strengthen that back line, he also has the knowledge to improve their defense of set pieces.

    We’re looking at 5th in his first season without Kane. Most fans would snap your hand off for that. He’s also playing with players he didn’t sign. Give the guy a full summer back him in the window and give him the chance to get out the players that can’t play his way and allow him the players he needs. If then he’s still struggling then let’s have this debate, but right now this is classic Spurs fans. We want the success but don’t want the pain you have to go through to get it.

If you're 3-0 up half time, but end up drawing 3-3, it's a negative result. If you're 3-0 down at half time, but end up drawing 3-3, its a positive result. It's the regression that's the worry.

The fact that they are saying he's overhyped is a credit to how well he has done for most of the season. He took a team that had no right to be in a CL race and made them a joy to watch. He's become a victim of his own successful start to the PL campaign. The expectations shifted massively. Talk of PL/top 4 challengers (if only for a short time😅) and challenging for a CL spot. Now they team are playing poorly and all of a sudden he's the worst manger. I've thought the same for a while now. This guy is incredibly stubborn and that will ultimately be his downfall. Modern managers adapt to the rigors of the game at hand doesn't matter if you sometimes have to be a little pragmatic to win matches. All the big teams do it. Real Madrid has done it countless times against the likes of Barcelona, Arsenal did it TWICE this season against Man City and Spurs. Liverpool do it away from home sometimes in Europe, it's part and parcel of today's game but to completely REFUSE to change your tactics even when your under the cosh is just stupid in my eyes, it doesn't make you a brave manager but merely shows your ineptitude to grasp a game.
