Love watching you both interacting with each other...I have smiled through out your video!! Bath is looking GREAT!!
thank you, sometime I worry with how much time that we spend together, that we've gone a bit crazy in a way that only we can understand haha. Anyway, absolutely can't wait to get the bath into the bathroooooom 😁
It’s so funny watching you both… makes me home-sick for NZ and France all at once! 🤣❤
🤣🤣 hope it’s not too bad!
Sheesh…your perseverance is admirable. It’s a small room with some big stories that won’t be forgotten for a long time! Great job, great team👍🥂👏
Haha gotta keep going, we've made too much of a mess of it to stop now!! it will be nice for us to have these videos to remember all the stories, thanks for watching, it's great to have you here 😊
Perseverance pays! All’s well that ends well, and other clichés :)
Great job..AS USUAL!
An absolute joy to watch - as always! That bath tub will be your pride and joy once it's settled in your bathroom.🤩
Thank you, I am just imagining it now.... 🛁❤️
Love watching you two. You are adorable and so hard working.❤
Thanks for much, and thanks for the support!
Oh dear ! Rust treat first then primer suitable for bare / rusty metal then 2K epoxy resin enamel but only after brutal cleaning with alcohol and careful removal of any limescale residue - thin coats only ! make up the smallest quantity of paint as it becomes unworkable about 40 mins after you add the hardner to the paint and measure carefully or it won’t cure at all - it’s a slow process but the result will be spectacular
Thank you! we needed your comment in the middle of it 😅 We got there in the end though, reminder to take our time!
@@growinginfrance couldn’t help myself as I watched the episode I just wanted to shout a warning to you - heartbreaking to have to start again but it looks great in the end - if you tackle the inside the limescale removal needs to be careful and then alcohol to remove any traces of grease before 2K and thin coats or it runs - did a shower tray, sink and drainer in my vintage motorhome and it took forever to prep but so worth it for the results
You need to cover it with ketchup abd leave it over night then just wash it off
Jack I love you two. But please make sure Becs doesn't get hurt helping you. ❤ keep safe.
Thanks, and thanks for looking out for us 😊
U 2 r so adorable! 🥰🥰❤️👍
Needs an oil base coated.❤
Wow! What a process. It looks great now, though.
Too much of a process really lol. We made it more complicated than it should have been 😂 Absolutely love it now, have been dreaming about this bath for a very long time!
If you have brass fixtures, it's probably better not to have silver toned feet. The white looks really good.
Thanks! Yeah we totally agree, the white is better than silver or orange 😂😂😂
Well done guys, 🤣🤣 great recovery!!
nothing that sanding (again) can't fix 🤪
Love that you showed the fail
All about the journey!!
After the house tour for a break Jack should go back to the house now and again and do 1 room at a time! After renovating a 1960 ranch house let me tell u do 1 room at a time finish it completely before moving on to the next because if u skip around it seems it takes forever! So we started doing 1 room at a time so when we walked out we were DONE! Down to base boards shoe mold everything! 😊
Really good advice and wisdom, thank you for watching and sharing!
Hi from Australia.
Gidday!
Don't use scouring pad it will damage the smooth surface.. you can also soak in bath of vinegar and salt water over night.. my mum and dad where caretakers of an Historical house here in Australia and thats the method they used before using brass.. let it dry then buff with soft cloth .
Correction Brasso
oh wow that's amazing, that you for the wisdom, duly noted 🫶
Hi guys! Of course you know there will be problems. But OMG that tub is like Possessed! 😄Sorry to laugh but I can’t help it! From the picture on the box you would Never expect this! Try to laugh it off. It will be another good story about renovations that you can tell years from now and then show the gorgeous finished tub. Have a wonderful week.❤❤❤
haha possessed, i hope not!! lol So far too many things have a story, it's going to be one very long house tour 😂 I love it though, it's all about the adventure.
You need to seal it to prevent it going rusty again
We learned that eventually - I was totally inexperienced with anything metal before we started this project!
I had to come back after the floor reveal honestly TILE IT LOL
haha, it kind of grows on you.... or maybe it's just the aversion to spending anything else on the floor (of all things) 😂
Moc vám držím palce at se vám daří. Líbí se mi že vás ne úspěch neodradí a držíte při sobě. Moc vám fandím a zdravím z ČR
Thank you very much for watching and supporting us from CR. The trick is to be too busy to get sad!
“This is what happens when you go on an adventure you didn’t pay for..…” 🤣🤣
Ah you need to seal the bath first, but I guess you know that now. (As a note it’s as easy as spraying on rust proof it seals and primes at the same time)
Yes, learning the hard way with this one 🤦♀️ - really, it's obvious now!
The taps have come up amazing - good job!. Coat them in something before you fit them, or you'll be polishing them again shortly. Also, check the washers and seals before you fit them. And keep it up!
Thanks for such a lovely comment, I have never lived in Ireland, only visited. We only seem to go in winter, but even so, it is a really lovely country full of even lovelier people. My parents are vey happy there, although I would prefer they were in France with us!
Leave it metal bath and legs and seal it it is wabi sabi
Hello Everyone! I'm 69 YY and two marriages under my "experience" belt ...what I learned is that we should encourage and not critique/ad lib when someone else is doing the actual work. Some of us are passive while others are aggressive or a combination of both. Marriage is a beautiful thing! It must never be self-serving because resentment will build up and then pop its ugly head somewhere ....Work together, talk together, learn together and love together! 😍 P.S. No, I'm not looking for marriage #3. Happy with ME!🤣
I’m 71 married 52 years to my best friend. I agree with what you say here. I think these two remind me of us when we started renovating a disaster of a house when we were 23, but it anchored us. Thru good times and bad times, we had a base that started back then. I see that love and that base with Jack and Beka. They are such a lovely couple who obviously love each other and their life. A joy to watch❤❤❤
Wise words, thank you 😊
omg how crazy was that tub renewal! Did you ever figure out why it kept rusting on you?? Or did I miss that part lol It's looking so good, and the taps do, too!
The first time it rusted simply because it was left for a week in the rain, second time was because we painted the product we got for resurfacing straight on without an oil based primer. Lesson learnt!
Is the paint for the inside of the bath
Both inside and outside.
In years to come, you'll chuckle reminiscing about the rusty tub 😀 The channel "How to renovate a chateau without killing your partner' reglazed the inside of one of their tubs, and the channel "She Holds Dearly' very recently had a how to vid. Fingers crossed it's easy-peasy.
Exactly, now we’ve added to the tub’s story 😂 and you were absolutely right we should have painted it right away 🙈 thanks for these tips too, we’ll check out those videos!
