- Black Crag sits sandwiched between Lake Windermere and the Langdale Valley offering superb views to the surrounding fells and lakes. This route begins in the village of Knipe Fold and heads up the eastern side of the fell via the large south east cairn. After arriving at the summit I headed south along the undulating felltop into the Iron Keld Plantation before detouring into the stunning surroundings of Tarn Hows.
Distance: 8.36km
Ascent: 271m

Nice walk ans views 😀 Comming from Australia know all about storm damage been terrible lately
Did this walk over Xmas and was a delight ns great view of Holme Fell. I walked from Tarn How's much easier
Definately was much more gentle on the way to Tarn Hows.
Absolutely amazing walk!! 🤩 Those Lake District views are something else 😍 Looks like you got a lovely change in the weather too. I'm a bit jealous of that summit snack spot! Will definitely be adding Black Crag to my list 👍 Thanks for sharing the adventure!
They are mighty good for such a low peak!
