Thanks a lot for watching and safe journeys!
Curious about the prices of things in Iceland? See this video in which I visit the new Sky Lagoon hot springs, just outside of Reykjavik: czcams.com/video/SuAkDDI8xc0/video.html
as an Icelander it always pleases me to see foreigners posting videos about my country
Gabe you hit a half million subscribers! Congratulations!
Thanks man, appreciate it.
@Gabriel Traveler gabe been watching all your videos, always impressed with your work.. did you ever make it to Denmark or Norway? I know you went to Finland,.
@@jtvegas8761 Yes but I just visited Oslo and Copenhagen. I started a trip in Stockholm in spring of 2017 and worked my way down through eastern Europe.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos have you been to barbados or dominica 🇩🇲?
I am a single mom who traveled to Iceland with my twin sons. I basically cooked at our Airbnb and rented a car through a flight/rental package deal. I knew it would be more expensive so just saved up beforehand. It was wonderful! Our trip of a lifetime. ❤
Mr. Morris likes the CONTRAST....yesterday in Marokko and 20 Degrees....and now Island around 5 Degrees and Snow......this is Mr. Morris CANADIAN SIDE. HAHHAH!!!!! ALWAYS WITH YOU MAN....I LOVE IT!!!!!!
Ha, think he should head to Brazil next, it's Summer now and Southern Brazil is stunning😉
I think the reason that video may have been so popular is the title! People really enjoy pure city walkthrough videos.
Lived in Iceland for six months when I was in the Navy. Miss the lambdogs.
Bridesmaids wearing boots..cool...what a beautiful city..perfect time to visit to get into the Christmas spirit..have fun!
Gabriel I would stay at least 10 days in Iceland if I were you. It is so peaceful and beautiful. ❄❄❄❄❄☃❄❄❄❄❄
When you visit the church, please don’t forget to visit the the viewing terrace. It’s stunning but very windy.
Yeah, the Gulf Stream hugely affects the U.K.... we have mild winters, but they would be -5 to -15 without the gulf stream. London is the same latitude as Central Canada with way warmer winters.
Indeed Sam, Dublin Ireland is the same latitude as Moscow, but we rarely get snow.
all lat info u got is false cuz the earth is not a ball and greenland is 14 times smaller
Always on the move,be safe GABE!
Man without borders 👍👍👍
I remember watching your Iceland videos back in 2019.
Hello. Welcome to our country. Guess you have enjoyed the "nice ' weather today 😊 thanks for all your travels enjoy watching them
Thanks. I was disappointed by the warmer weather and rain today. I hope it gets colder. Let it snow, let it snow.
Just a couple of things on the whole language situation:
1) Besides standard Swedish, all people in Sweden speak different dialects, depending on where they’re from. Any Swede can understand where any other Swede is from, just by their accents and other dialectal elements they use in their speech. So it’s possible that the girl in the restaurant speaks a dialect close to Norwegian and so can understand Icelandic and the guy in the hostel speaks an entirely different dialect and cannot.
2) Finnish is NOT a Nordic language. It belongs in the fino-ungric family of languages and has manny common traits with Estonian as you said and also Hungarian.
This page includes Finland as part of the Nordic countries: nordics.info/show/artikel/the-nordic-region/ I guess Finland is a bit of an oddity straddling the Nordic culture and central Europe?
As an Icelandic speaker, I can roughly decipher written Norwegian, Danish and Swedish, all to a similar degree. Sweden should not fall out of the category of similarity. Only Finnish is completely distinct there.
I believe Icelandic is the closest existing language to Old Norse, from which Norwegian, Sweden, Danish and Faroese are all derived.
One more thing about the church... if your were to read it like this - "hall-greems-keerk-ya", it would still be wrong, but close enough and people would understand you.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos I am talking about the language, not the country. I guess you can call Finland a Nordic country without a problem but where it gets tricky is when you call it a “Scandinavian” country, you will get objections by basically everyone in the region.
@@TassosFragou Good to know.
@@TassosFragou Scandinavia = Norway, Sweden and Denmark, Nordic Countries= Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Faroe Islands and "Greenland"
At least in Iceland nobody yelling at you :D
I always learn so much from you! I had a classmate when I studied in France who was from Iceland. We had a day where each of us spoke about our family tree and hers was the most fascinating. The names alone were crazy long and the pronunciation was almost impossible for the rest of us (who were all from different countries) to replicate. Thanks Gabriel! Looking forward to your next video as always.
One of the most awesome countries in the world by far.
What is so awahsum about Iceland
Gabe, you ought to get a job there in Iceland and work for a couple of weeks. Maybe with a tourist outfit driving the cattle around to see the sights, etc.
Now I understand what you meant when you said “greetings from the Land of Ice.” Iceland. I was too slow to get that one.
I wasd in Reykjavik by the time you shot this video. Stayed 1 week in Iceland. Blue lagoon, geysers, etc. It was great
Went from one extreme to another Gabe. Just watched William Taudien in sunny Cancun and now you.
17:41: Red building is a good restaurant. :) We stayed up the road at the Hotel with the Viking ruins in the basement.
Með and the wife just found your videos and enjoy them very much. We live in Iceland and when you where walking in laugarvegur we missed you with about a hour😆 you walked very close to where we live.
So glad to see the street lights are shielded. The night sky there must be amazing, especially away from the city. I hope you get to see the Northern Lights while you're there. Safe travels!
Glad you are back in Iceland. Looking forward to these videos.
I am just starting to watch the video, Gabriel. I love your hat. Perfect for cold weather; covers the ears. I am talking about the hat you weat in the beggining of the video. You might have a different hat later on. I am only 2 minutes into the video right now. 👒
I remember watching that video that you're talking about, the one that took off, and I really think that might be because of the lighting, and the cloudy atmosphere, it somehow was perfect, with a little light here an there, a really cool vibe overall! At least I remember looking for more videos with that kind of ambience on your channel, led me to watch many many more videos! You could probably try doing another video in that kind of atmosphere, at least I'd absolutely love to watch it
Been binge watching your Morocco videos - looking forward to seeing how you hold up in Iceland during the winter. Good luck, haha.
Try Tromso in winter 🥶
It was raining today. Bring back the snow! Thanks for watching Jason, been checking out your Iraq vids.
Welcome to morocco sir and hope everything goes well with you in traveling
One of my first overseas trips was Iceland. Enjoyed going out to Gullfoss falls.
The arctic circle line actually goes through the most northen point on the mainland, near Raufarhöfn.
Yes to classic intro and one-take walk through plus food clips!
What a suprise video Gabriel have fun in Iceland! 👍 😀
We were there the day before you filmed it. We spent the night in Reykjavik on Friday night before flying back to UK 😉
How is the cost of living like for foreign students?
@@tilfeed 😂 extortionate sums it up
i appreciate you for your support and comments i just create a little time to appreciate some of my great fans.how is your family and work
At 19 mins 30, American Bar. Had some great times in there. Reasonable priced food as well.
Wow! I was just watching you board the plane from Morocco, and like magic, here you are in snowy Iceland. Kudos for the surprise factor. Great video!
i appreciate you for your support and comments i just create a little time to appreciate some of my great fans.how is your family and work
Just finished the cool netflix Series KATLA which is on Iceland, now on YT: Gabriel talking abt iceland. Wow!
That church is awesome...it has all the grandeur of a cathedral--and yet it has very clean lines...stunning!
Been always fond of Iceland 🇮🇸 even being expensive, people watching is what is taking off random walks, love your videos, especially from Iceland . GOD bless
Very cool to see something so different!
I enjoy the variety of your travels! Bravo 👏🏽
We love you Gabe! Keep on that adventure hope to cross paths some day
Perfect place Gabriel! for this time of year! can't wait to see more of Iceland! Stay safe 😊❤🙏
Beautiful city
Finally going to iceland in February. Your videos are always very informative.
Great video Gabe...hopefully this time you can spend more time exploring this Island...maybe see the volcanoes from a distance. Cheers from Canada
Great vlog Gabriel, really interesting to see Iceland.
Thanks for your video, I also visited Reykjavik alone on Jan 2019! it just refresh my memories and the joy of time spent in there, I hope I can visit there again some days!
I'm heading here in February. Can't wait. Nice informative videos.
One of my favorites
Very informative excellent !!!!!
Iceland in the summer is probably incredible. You probably get like 18 hours of daylight and because of the warm ocean current, decent weather.
It’s brilliant in summer. You get to see the variety of landscapes and colours in the summer which you can’t see much in the winter
Looking forward to go to Iceland this Christmas, thank you for sharing.
Awesome video ❄️ 🧊
Congratulations on 500k subscribers by the way! Halfway to 1 Million! You deserve it so much! 😁
Happy Holidays and thanks for traveling showing us these interesting places!
Winter in Iceland - you are a brave man!!
I think Iceland is not so bad in December. There is a warm ocean current that warms Iceland. Of course it's not as warm as Mexico or Florida, but it is not extreme cold.
@@kazzicup Also I think it's a little bit cheaper in December. I've only been in the summer
Congrats to half a million! Very well deserved.
I still have Netherlands, Iceland and San Marino to visit in Europe. :-)
Looking forward to Iceland a lot. I like these videos a lot. You have a lot to say and it is really interesting to see cities. So much information for travellers.
-15 here now. 100 km south of Stockholm.
The way I understood Schengen was that you count back the number of days you’ve been in the area over the last 180, which can’t exceed 90. So some of the days you were there over summer would still be counted.
I miss that country so much
Ну когда есть настроение можно и скучалку включить!
Thanks for the virtual tour🦋🦋🦋 so this is iCELAND, looks very cold , but beautiful 🦋🦋🦋
Love Iceland tx for the memories!
Why is the landscape so beautiful!
Thank you for the wonderful video! Pressed good and subscribed to the channel 👍
Greeting from Japan 🇯🇵
Streets in Reykjavik look so beautiful. I am looking forward to your next videos of this amazing country. Almost surely I will visit Iceland in the future, too, some day.
I was just here a month ago and where you started the video was across from the hostel I was in! Felt like I was back there!
I know why your Iceland dark video took off. I typed in Iceland and that video came up. After watching it Im hooked watching all your videos now 😂
Safe clean country . Wow. I havent been in one of those in a long while
That first Iclandic video that you posted was the first video from you that I saw. I've followed you ever since :) Iceland looks nice as always. Have always wanted to go there but until then your videos will do!
Thank you for sharing
Fantastic Gab love it 😀 ❤
Good one. Thanks.
Iceland will be our next travel destination. Thank you Gabriel for this video! You are the best!
Thanks, this was beautiful. I have no clue how youtube works either. I never receive notifications for uploaded videos, I just find them when they are two weeks to a month old, if ever.
Are you subscribed to my channel? If so then just go to this page and you will see all the recent videos from your subscriptions: czcams.com/users/feedsubscriptions
omg I miss Iceland so much... Been there three times in the last few years. Reykjavik started to feel like a home away from home before COVID. Thanks for the video, it kinda feels like I'm back wandering the city again 😊
Hardly any sun light during the winter months but its made up in the Summer when you can have up to 21 hours of daylight.
Summers are cool. definitely do the Ring Road, its on my list too, never got the chance to do it.
I spent 18 months in Iceland from 1987 to 1988 I was stationed at the old Military Base at Keflavik.
I went there a few years ago, in May we had an artic plume hit us, it dropped down to -20°c, the previous week it 12°c
In may -20C 😱
Hi Gabriel,I watch each and every video of yours and press the like button before watching itself bcoz I know it's going to b informative , history ...so don't worry about the views . Keep traveling and do a good work !! Thanks for sharing .. ❤️ From India
Nice video. I looked forward to it. thank you.
I miss Iceland!!! Great video :)
I guess that's when I started to watch you 3 yrs ago... Happy travels
Cool.
🥰🥰🥰 Great video , I wish you success 🥰🥰🥰
Iceland is incredible! Hoping to make it back there again one day!
Agree.
I made use of the happy hours there in the bars when I was there, half price alcohol
Interesting place thanks Gabe
congratulaion on your half a million gab
I rented a car in Iceland a few years ago. Not only was it very expensive, but the rental agreement specified I could not leave the main paved highway that goes around the island. I would be liable for a very expensive penalty fee if I took the car off the paved road. No gravel roads or interior roads allowed. No getting off the beaten track in a rental car in Iceland.
hey gabe, i planned a whole trip to Iceland in 2017 by watching the videos you made back in the day. Nice to see you back in that wonderful country, i hope to visit again with my family sometime soon. cheers from 🇦🇷 ARG!
Greetings to Argentina. 🍀 I have never been there. In which city do you live?
@@kazzicup Buenos Aires!
@@rafx2014 Greetings to Buenos Aires! I have never been to South America, but I have watched wonderful videos on youtube.
Gabriel, Good video ! Hope you filmed the volcano !
Pls go somewhere warm and fun!
Wow ! I was there this summer look at the snow!!!! Hope you enjoy your trip 🙏🙏🙏 Wish you see Aurora
I remember watching that video you were talking about like 5 times and it's also in my favorite list still
Cool.
Welcome to our country. Hope you have a grate time in Iceland. Been watching you in Morocco.😊 Grate videos.
Cool and thanks.
I was in Iceland 2 yrs ago about this time and experienced the northern lights, very exciting thing to see, hopefully you may catch them as well.
Very good, Gabe, next time you are here in Greece we will make you "Baklava" in our kitchen.
Love baklava but not good if you have diabetes
Morocco to Iceland in one fell swoop. I love that.
Almost like here where I live now: sun goes up 9AM, and it's twilight zone around 4PM
Come to Mérida, MX. Visit Uxmal and Hacienda Uxmal, hosts pictures of both Che and Princess of Monaco.
23:35 We drove.a rental car to Vik. What a crazy and beautiful town... winds were howling in off the Atlantic, massive columns in the ocean, black sand beaches. Felt like I was on another planet.
It’s a beautiful place
Man, you put me right off going to Morocco.
I genuinely want to thank you for that I had planned to go in January.
Pretty cool! As a chess player I've always been interested in Iceland. Bobby Fischer, arguably the greatest chess player ever, played his famous 1972 world championship match against a Russian player in Reykjavik, during the height of the cold war, before disappearing. He reappeared 20 years later and played against the same guy but against US sanctions in Yugoslavia. He disappeared again before being arrested in Japan. He would defect to Iceland where he was given asylum and died at 64 years old there. He was buried in Laugardælir, Iceland. Looking forward to this series. Cheers!
Thanks for that information
I like the topic...inspiration and enjoyed with your video....🧡💛💯
For myself I would like to have true inspiration living inside me!!!!!🤩😂
