01:45 - This fountain is Fyssa by Rúrí.
05:00 - These are the washing pools. For a long time they were used by washing women, until the 1930's when district heating replaced them.

23:30 - This is Höfði lighthouse. Its yellow design is based on that of the channel lighthouses that were used in Reykjavík's old harbour.
24:07 - The white house is Höfði. Former home of poet Einar Benediktsson.
In 1986 USA president Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbatsjev met in this house, a meeting now known as the Reykjavik Summit.
26:00 - The Partnership sculpture. A gift from the United States to celebrate 50 years (1991) of good diplomatic relationship between Iceland and the USA. By Pétur Bjarnason.
32:30 - Now entering Laugavegur. Reykjavík's most famous shopping street.
41:38 - This sculpture is Rætur (Roots) by Steinunn Þórarinsdóttir.
42:13 - Now entering Austurstræti street.
44:47 - Ingólfstorg. A small public square with shops and events.
46:27 - Horfur (Prospects) by Steinunn Þórarinsdóttir.
50:10 - A statue of Skúli Magnússon, "founder of Reykjavík".
50:57 - The broken rock is Svarta Keilan (The Black Cone) by Santiago Sierra.

No skyscrapers, no smog, no traffic jams. All places are sharp and colorful. Beautiful place. Icelanders are happy people. Take care of your homeland.
Thank you, I especially dislike traffic jams so I consider it a great compliment for my homeland.
They are not
-kodeina,mefedron, psychoactive and narcotics 1 place in the world
-dark and rainy 8months a year
- boring ,expensive hole on the end of Europe
From my country holidays cost me 400e
From this shitty hole cost 2th euro when you don't have qwaranty that storm give you permission to fly

@@danal81 Yes it depends on what type of person you are, If you're an extrovert then country like Iceland will make you feel like you're in a jail but as an introvert myself this country and almost all Scandinavian Countries except Denmark are no less than heaven for us😂
Perfect place for people with anxiety. So calm, quiet and peaceful with no smog, traffic jams or busy ass streets.
So beautiful.
Yes and funny to say I live in a small town outside Reykjavík and I think it's a bit to stressful.
But less people some time cause lonelyness and dipresion
As someone who suffers daily anxiety in US, I had no anxiety while flying and in Iceland. You are correct.
I’m from a small village and, usually, I hate towns and urban areas but... Reykjavik looks like a peaceful, intelligent, wise, funny, clean, friendly town!
What a beautiful and happy country with so many natural wonders! I hope Iceland will stay like this for a long, very long time!
Greetings from Belgium!
I hope so too and thank you for the kinds words :)
I loved walking with you!! Was here a few years ago,and have good memories of my round trip to Iceland! A land like no other!❤❤❤❤❤👌👍From South Africa🇿🇦
Thank you for walking with me :)
I feel like it's a blessing to be a native icelandic. I fell in love with Iceland while watching Sense8 tv series, there i saw for the first time some icelandic landscapes and i knew i had to visit it. I've been there 2 times, this september should've been the third time, but covid happened. My dream would be to move to Iceland one day, i am completely mesmerized by the beauty of this country. Thank you for this tour, i imagined i was there. Greetings from Romania!
Thank you for the kind words about my country 🙂 Haven't seen Sense8 ought to check it out. Salutari.
Astrid Demian LoL how come ur Icelandic and moved nowhere else but Romania just asking 😂

Wow I take it you've travelled quite a bit so that must be saying a lot 🙂
Just returned from Iceland holiday. Beautiful country, kind people, everything is clean and well organized. Best food I've had in my entire life! Cheers from LaLa Land, California.

Love to see the beautiful trees . Iceland is recreating it’s forests again.

Are you a native Icelandic?
The city doesn't seem to have a population of more than 130k, so the situation with immigrants can't be that bad in comparison to cities in Germany and the rest of western Europe, right!?
So clean & fresh.
Sky is so, so blue.
Love, love, love.
Thank you. ❣️
Thanks ☺️
Very relaxing video thanks for sharing 👍😄

What a beautiful and clean place to live..

Really looks like a flatter version of Oslo. And the vibe of Boulder, Colorado. Loving it.
Yes I went to Oslo once and noticed the flatness. Didn't know about Boulder Colarado, seems chill and nice

Beautiful. I wish it was that bright all year.
Yes the winters are cold and dark.
@@IcelandHotSpots I would seriously consider living in Iceland if it was warmer. It is such a beautiful country. I do want to visit there one day though and walk through Reykjavik.
Very fine to end in that sculpture garden near Hallgrimskirkja.
And the bells rang at that exact moment. Yes I love that garden.
What a great video. Reykjavik is such an amazing place, so easily accessible on foot. Thank you 👍🏼

You are doing better than you think. You can only connect the dots looking backwards. Do your best and one day come visit ☺️
Thanks for this nice video, refresh the memory
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
perfect
I think it would be very interesting to have the same tour in midwinter..just to see the contrast. Often, very northern cities or towns are being shown in midsummer, on a sunny day ...i believe there i also a certain beauty in a gray, dark, rainy wintery day, especially for those who live in a hot climate...
Please check out my previous walking tour in Reykjavík during winter.
Nice tour thanks for sharing
The skies are blue there unlike many parts of the United States where there is heat and humidity that makes the sky less of the deep blue.
Wonderful. Thank you so much.
Thank you ☺️
Land of the Ice and Snow is beautiful and has many attractions. I was stationed there for one year while in the US Navy.
Interesting, must be very memorable times for you. Very different.
@@IcelandHotSpots Yes I was there during one of the Mt. Hekla eruptions. I hiked to the base of the lava flow and was able to see magma just below the Black crust.
great video, reykjavik is very cool, miss the fish and chips there
Thank you so much for doing this walk it was like being there and when we come in June 2021. I will be more confident in walking around even though I will not be able to walk as fast as you do, as I am 67 and not as mobile as you. Thanks for doing the walk.
Hi Hazel. Thank you I'm glad you found it useful. There are few things as enjoyable as a good walk with good people.

VERY nicely done 'walking-video tour' of Reykjavik -- and on a perfect summer day, too..! Beautiful color fidelity & a sensible pace with interesting/momentary pauses & sweeps.
Your video delighted me enough that I had magical-feeling dreams of Reykjavik later that night.
I've loved (and been fascinated by) Iceland since I was 7 yrs old, and have always wanted to find some kind of detailed video tour of Reykjavik-in-Summertime. Yours is the best one I've ever discovered.
Many thanks for your effort and fine skills.

@@IcelandHotSpots Apologies for belated response to your question of six long months ago....(Pandemic craziness in USA has caused many scramblings.)
Was physically in Iceland only once--- a night flight layover at Keflavik, en route to Russia some yrs ago -- but I've spent loads of online virtual time 'touring' your magical country in recent years, and I think I'll end up moving there sooner or later.
Stay Well,

We went to Iceland in 2019, and we stayed in a place near that bridge at the 14:00 mark, so this was a similar path we took when we went out for a walk. Watching Mount Esja was one of my fav things. P.S. The sunny, blue sky of the day you shot this...amazing.
Yeah it was a fantastic summer day. I hope you had a great time 🙂
Planning a trip August 2023. Will room a few nights near Hallgrimskirkja and definitely see the Jonsson sculpture garden, Loki restaurant walk Lagaravegur and Skol streets, see Harpa and Perlan and some museums and galleries--can't wait! Do you advise a ferry jaunt to Viger Island?
Awesome 👌

A majestic display of Iceland 🇮🇸 and thanks for sharing we have our visit cancelled due to covid.
Keep up the good work. 👏👏😍😍
Aw man, I hope you can make it sometime. Thank you.
Watching this video i feel like I'm walking in Reykjavik very nice and stunning. Thanks
What a stunning place! As a part-Dane, part-Scot, looking at the landscape, buildings and streets, Reykjavík feels like a cross between Scotland and Denmark, with a little bit of Norway thrown in also. In any case, it's some of the smaller cities there that I'm reminded of. In Scotland perhaps Dundee or Inverness and in Denmark Silkeborg or Vejle. It's staggering to see what Iceland, a country with a total population smaller than that of Copenhagen, Glasgow, Edinburgh or even Aarhus has achieved! Truly an insperation to all Scots and it gives us an insight into what an independent Scotland could perhaps also achieve. Thanks so much for the video!
Hey Andrew. Thank you. Independence means a lot to us. We had it, then lost it then regained it. And no wondr it looks similar with the somewhat similar climate but more importantly shared ancestry. A celtic origin.
Incredible video... I'm want move to Iceland.
Thanks 🙂

Cidade muito bonita, gostei muito, parabéns pelo seu trabalho! Muito obrigado.
Obrigado pelas amáveis palavras.
Belíssimo país. É prazeroso ver tanta organização e limpeza. Parabéns.
Gorgeous walking tour. Reykjavik looks so much more alive in Summer than in your winter video walk (still beautiful though!). I am from Lithuania and I see lots of similarities of street elements of our cities (outside the Capital) with Reykjavik. I have visited Iceland couple of times with the cruise ship but it looks like there are some changes since then:-)
Yeah it's a whole different city in summer. Soon enough we will be able to travel again. Perhaps I should look into Lithuania, which I admit I'm not very knowledgeable about.
@@IcelandHotSpots
Hey, Iceland was the very first country to recognize Lithuanian independence in 1990. The World has followed after that. Iceland was brave back then. It was not only about Lithuanian Independence. Lithuania was the very first to ditch USSR, which soon after callapsed. We have streets named after Reykjavik and Iceland😄
@@markust7709 And as an Icelander, I am proud of that! Hope our countries will be closer and work better together in the future :)

Oh sure it was just the weekend so many were out ☺️
The atmosphere of Iceland feels something between a Western European country and American.
Interestingly Iceland is located at the eurasian and North American plate boundary.
It's got really good zoning obviously , not overun by Walmart etc . . Manitoba where I live , by the way has a fair population Icelandic people dating back to the 19th century when they had a horrible volcanic eruption . A lot of them settled around Lake Winnipeg , which is a 9000 sq mile lake .
Good job(b).
😀
Thank you 🙂

What a joy to walk through Reykjavík in the Summer time and so smoothly and sensitively filmed. We'd love to visit someday and this has really got us in the mood. We'd have loved to have made a colab' with you (London for Reykjavík footage exchange) - as we do this very occasionally, but I guess London wouldn't fit really your channel? Anyway we'll be back to enjoy more of Iceland through you. Thank you.
Thanks, very interesting proposition but you are right it wouldn't fit the theme of my channel.
Pls say about your gears in the description :)
