Are you on segway? If not the stability and coordination of your hands/body is AMAZING!!! Looks like you gliding.
Haha thank you Markus. No I don't have a segway but I have a gimbal. And I walk in a very funny way to increase stability. People who see me film probably think I'm bonkers.

Okay, i see. I watched the entire video non-stop in VR (well that did not make it 3D but I had HUGE Imax-like view :) So I watched the entire lenghts of it and enjoyed this video so much, it made my day. I especially liked the idea that you went inside that modern theater... It would be so nice to also have a video of more Reykjavik streets and parks like Laugavegur, Laekjargata and more but I guess it is time and energy consuming. And the bad thing that Google Maps street view often is outdated. Your videos gave the fresh view. Thank you!
You watched it in VR? Cool. I'm sure I will follow up on your recommendations and film more in Reykjavík this coming summer. But you are right, time and especially weather are limiting factors.
@@IcelandHotSpots
Thank you. I miss Iceland - haven't been there for few years.
@@IcelandHotSpots oh, I thought you were in the back of Thor's chariot.
I watched this three years ago, and my brain thinks I was actually in Reykjavik. I kind of have flashbacks about the walk and where "we went". I watched it alone, but I keep thinking I was there with my partner, maybe because I feel I walked with another person, which was this anonymous camera person. It was odd to hear the wind and street noises, yet you never said as much as "Excuse me" to the pedestrians you barged past, nearly colliding a couple of times. I loved seeing the evil Christmas Cat again, and so many sculptures along the way. Thanks for doing this. I know I will never go there. I just started thinking about it because of the threatened volcanic eruptions near the Blue Lagoon.
Thanks and I'm glad you got that immersive feeling. The camera is has a sort of fisheye lens so people may seem a lot closer than they actually are. I'm sorry if I gave the immpression of a rude person.
What a beautiful country!🇮🇸
Thankyou. This is the best video i have seen walking around Reykavik absolutely fantastic. Looking forward to my vist in march 2023. Please do more......
Thank you, I will try my best and I hope you have a wonderful trip.
So, so wonderful! We were in Reykjavik in 2017 and walked the entire city in the 10 days we were there. Thank you for taking me along the same wonderful streets of this incredible city.
I'm glad to brings back some memories. Sounds like a nice trip you had.
I'm in love with Iceland 😍
This place is beautiful.
Dude, your recording skills are next level.

I must be white bear to stay more than a month with you there😅😂😂🤣
Vá, mjög óspennandi ef þú býrð í reykjavík.
And that's Iceland folks a beautiful country one must be a cold weather person like me it's such a clean country you get what you see no deception. I could trade the cold for living there. Of course tire chains when driving on the snow and ice to play it safe.
I love the architecture
My dream is to go to Iceland ❤️🇮🇸
I hope your dreams come true

This place is incredibly beautiful. It's so clean and peaceful, yet so strangely vibrant. Thanks a lot for the video!
you channel is a cure to anxiety ❤
Thank you
I love this country 😘😘😊😊
I just went a week ago. Some of the place looks so much different covered in snow.
And by summer it will have transformed again. Always different and yet the same.
Хорошая получилась прогулка с сильным ветром и облаками.
Спасибо. Ветер и облака здесь очень нормальные. Россиянам тоже не привыкать к холоду.
Love the tour, thanks a lot!
i love iceland😍😍
Much appreciated - what an amazing walk around a beautiful city.
This is incredible! Thank you so much for sharing with us. It's almost like I'm there. 👍
Lovely place
A great recording. My appreciation :)
fantastic work, plz continue, great!!!
Bela capital com arquitetura diversificada, cidade limpa e segura. Excelente vídeo, parabéns.
Amazing! I'm really interested in living there.
I'm very impressed with people's behaviour. I mean, they seem to be very kind, polite.... You are walking through the main city, the capital, and I couldn't hear any noise. Awesome
Yes it has this small town feel to it, which I guess it is in a way
Hmm, not sure if it's really politeness.
1. We only have 366k inhabitants, 1/3rd of which lives in the capital area.
2. The weather is really only good during the summer, and this was filmed during winter, it seems. (It's also windy. VERY windy. 80% of our country's energy is green, but we literally can't use wind-power because there's TOO MUCH wind! Haha. Most of our energy is actually geothermal energy or hydropower)
3. People mostly stay inside, and drive from place to place, as there's not much to do outside. (we drive a LOT. We have only 366k inhabitants, but over 330k registered vehicles!)
Absolutely awesome!
Thank you 🙂
Beautiful thank you
You're welcome 🙂

Switzerland must be awesome :)
I just came back from holidays there and I did this same walk for a week. It was an amazing time and I plan to go back again for a visit ❤️ the most unique country I ever visited
So nice :) 😀 I'm glad your experience was a good one.
Спасибо за прогулку
Пожалуйста. Спасибо за просмотр.
thx u for this post. one of the best i have seen. had to wear my coat and hat while watching on my tablet...lol.guess those cold gusty winds blew off everyone's masks
It was definitely a bit chilly. The coldest I've been was in Laugarvatn. My fingers were numb and hurting when I finished filming.
His brings me back home when i last was in Reykjavik 2020 January thanks for reminding me of home
Just before the pandemic hit the world. You were lucky to make it in time I guess. Thanks Geoff :)
Great video keep filming more vids
Thank you I will do my best ☺️
Thank you very much for your video! It is a pleasure to discover your beautiful and unique country. I will visit Iceland for sure now! Thanks from Montreal, Canada.
Thank you Éric.

Oh tons of them. Check out my channel page. You just click the logo and I believe it should appear ☺️
@@IcelandHotSpots Merci!
Wonderful video. You walked right where I did. I stayed in the CityCenter Hotel. Also went to the bakery a few blocks from the church. I so want to return. Waiting on covid to get sorted.
Very soon hopefully it will be sorted. I've been waiting to get to Bergen in Norway myself. Thank you for the kind words Daniel.
Hej, very smooth, very nice filming in this video, Greetings!!
Thank you
I wish to visit Iceland. One day and then whenever I like. Because I love Europe and the Scandinavians so much. I was high while watching this video and you were so amazing filming with such ease and smoothness that I was transported to Iceland immediately. A VR would do even better I guess. Pray for me so I get to travel all these stunning places with fam and friends.
Thank you for sharing. I hope you will make it over with your friends and family one day 🙂
Nice country.. From malaysia..
the first 10 meters on the Pond looks most impressive. I've been shootin there once, hope you had a warm gloves ;)
Wonderful vídeo. My dream is to know the Reykjavík.
One day hopefully ☺️
Everywhere you look they are building things... Iceland is growing so quickly
Yes you are right. Construction in the center of Reykjavík is mainly because of demand in tourism, hotels and such.
Very good indeed. It won a new subscriber!
Thank you I appreciate it
I'M from Peru, and my dream is go there, its my favorite country for sure . I love it
I hope you can visit someday. I'd love to visit Peru as well.
Thanks for this. I would love to visit Reykjavik. Nevertheless, it was 26C (80 F) in Jacksonville, Fl today. Still, Iceland is beautiful.
I'd like to visit Florida someday. I want to visit the NASA museum. Would be strange for me to have such warm weather during Christmas though. 26C is about as warm as it gets in Iceland.
I'm talking about the Horn of Africa. This place is very beautiful and I liked the way you recorded it.
Thank you Walal. You live in the Horn of Africa?
@@IcelandHotSpots How did you learn the somali language or is somalia a brother

Haha thank you. I didn't really get the reference but I'm more of a coffee guy myself ☺️
Reykjavik is a lovely beautiful city and I am going to live there.
I hope your dream comes true.
nice thanks a lot I feel like I am there
Thank you 🙂
The glass walls of the Harpa, shaped like basalt formations you see in the countryside, are quite amazing. I hope you can show them in more detail in future vids, if you haven’t already. 😃 Hello from Hawaii 🌈
That's a good idea I might do that. Thank you
Aloha.
IcelandHotSpots oh, oh and the inside of that amazing church, and govt building on lake. And a quick look-see inside all those cool shops, you know, for us ladies who miss shopping amid corona. 🙏🏼
Impressive tour. I love Iceland 👍🏿👍🏿

Thanks for the video. And for the details. I apologize for not knowing Reykjavík is so beautiful. The images on the internet are not very representative. It looks so modern and bright (especially the summer walk :)) . I love the modern architecture. I would like to know the exact month of filming. I am surprised there isn't more snow on the streets. It even seems the temperature is above freezing point. I really hope I will get to visit it someday! Keep up the good work 👏
I've been wanting to make a christmas walk in Reykjavík and I've been waiting for a bit of snow but it hasn't stayed long. So now in december the streets are clear of snow. This video was shot in late october if I recall, it was actually quite cold but hadn't snowed. I hope you make it to Reykjavík someday :)
Must have been in recorded nov/dec because the Christmas cat is on display in Lækjartorg.
Hey from Algeria i like your vidéo 4k
Thank you for saying so Zamoum
Muito bonito, parabéns, Brasil
Obrigada. Eu tenho um amigo no Brasil. Ele me deu tereré. Tenho saudades do tereré.
Já fui barman, aqui a bebida típica é caipirinha.
Logo verei videos em Reikyjavic.
is there a place to rent Segways? This is really helping get a lay of the land for our trip. Nice camera work. Where is a good place to get an authentic Iceland sweater?
Thanks and I don't know about segways but you should have no problem renting scooters. If that works for you. To get a better feel for the street names check the video description or turn on caption. They will give you more detail. There are places where you can get real wool sweaters. Check the smaller shops and ask around, the larger tourist shops often have imported ones.
I lived there in 1985; not a lot changed. Tjornin has been developed a bit at the east end. It would be difficult but a walking tour inside Surtshellir or Raufarholshellir would be quite interesting.
Some cave tours are definitely on my to do list. I have a very old video of Raufarhólshellir but it is very shaky.
Lovely city, nice to see Ryvik again in such detail.
I felt the speed was due to a fact that you were biking around or were you running? I tried to climb Mt Esja from the 'stofa' but had to give up as I did not have proper footwear.
I was walking really fast, almost at light jogging speed. Too bad you didn't make it to the top of Esja, maybe you can give it another go sometime.
Yeah Iceland 😍 should have visit it forthcoming may for the 15th time, but it is still uncertain due tot Covid......lets hope the best of it!!
15 times? Wow you must really like Iceland. What are you planning on doing if you can make it in May? What are your favourites so far?
@@IcelandHotSpots yeah i really really like it, really can't choose because i'm totally in love with RVK but also totally crazy for the countryside it is too hard in my perfect world i would live in Hveragerdi not too far from RVK but still on the countryside and at Bonus near me ;) but first hoping to travel in May to Iceland, not really a route im guessing a roundtrip ringroad with a minicamper .......we've got 20 days so ringroad at ease and a few days RVK and Akureyri
Alright sounds good. I hope you make it.
Interesting. It seems like Icelanders' favorite color, when it comes to clothes at least, is black. Anyways, Great video! Thank you for uploading it!
Thank you 🙂
Good job(b).

This is such a cool video. Did you walk so smoothly or was the gimbal doing the work for you? And was it really a gopro mounted in a gimbal?
Thanks. So there are 3 things I do for stability. The gopro superstabil feature. The gimbal. And walking in a special way that increases stability, which requires a little effort.
What time was it when you were recording?
Excellent video
It was November 2019. Around 2pm.
6:40 - 6:44 What. Is. That? A man with a cover? Beautiful video! Thank you :^)
A sculpture called The Unknown Bureaucrat
Ohhh... interesting! Thank you :^)@@IcelandHotSpots
Wow! Very smooth and stable video capture on the move. Are you using a Steadicam or gimbal?
It is a combination of the gopro smooth feature and using a gimbal. And also walking funny.
