Thanks for this terrific video! We’ve been to Iceland twice, and on our second trip we spent about 2 weeks staying in the Reykjavik area. We did a few days tours and drove on some day trips on our own as well 🥰 But I really LOVED spending time enjoying the vibrant city of Reykjavik, there’s so much to see and do there. It’s a beautiful city to spend time in, and fun to get to know. You featured many of the things and places we enjoyed 🙂🇮🇸 And your presentation is just charming, your upbeat attitude and lovely accent and warm smile made your video such a treat! Takk fyrir!

More on the Hallgrimskirkja…the outside decor is based of the look of the basalt columns formed by volcanic activity. And, in the Thor movies by Marvel, the look of the central building on Asgard is fashioned after this church.

I used to be nervous about people walking on the pond until I looked it up and it's only a couple feet deep lol

We went 4 times last year, seen all the things you have shown, one point hire a car travel no more than 150km a day and you can see the real Iceland there are many pull over places to park, getting lost it’s great, one of the best ways to see Iceland. We stopped at Grindivik won’t be doing that again anytime soon.for lunch

Thanks for the comment! :) I've always been a bit nervous about hiring a car in the winter as I don't have much snow driving experience - I would if I visited in the summertime though.

@@ClairesFootsteps Hi any 4x4 will do the trick honestly if you drive slow there are no issues apart from locals zooming past you, but they don’t seem to be bothered by slow driving

Been there twice now, find it all over priced for not a lot! Much, much prefer the North, especially Husavik.

@@ClairesFootsteps if you go to the north of iceland, Siglufjörður as a place is as no other, beautifull deep valley, little forestry project going on, walking paths in the forestry area, where you see waterfalls
