Bungonia Slot Canyon (Red Track), Bungonia NP

The Bungonia Slot Canyon is located in Bungonia NP and is a Grade 5 hike due to its steep ascent, bouldering and steep ascent out. Prior bush walking experience is required and this should not be attempted on extremely hot days or days after significant rain (the creek can rise quickly).
The canyon is beautiful and will reward you with an abundance of bird life and some technical rock hopping as you make your way over the boulders
I recommend you follow NP guideline and take this track clockwise. This means starting the track behind the carpark (you'll walk 100m to the gate, past the toilet block). This way you'll descend through the canyon making the bouldering a little easier. Be prepared for a relentless steep 400m exit and reserve water for this bit.
