I am german and this was all over the news. They did, in fact, lie about being treated that badly. They thought they would be thrown out in a matter of hours, but the staff as well as the manager supported their protest since they didn't damage any cars. Even after the protesters realized they would be stuck there for a while and didn't bring any supplies for a longer stay, the staff provided them with basic things like food and water. They only crossed the line when they requested the mentioned bucket to do their business, with the manager saying they can't just defecate in the middle of the showroom, especially when visitors are around. That's when their leader realy started bitching on social media how bad they are treated.

the best part is that there have been more effective protesters that actually did come prepared, im forgetting the names cause it was a random short on my feed the other day, either way a few people went and lived on the tops of redwood tree's (i think i have the right species) to protest deforestation in the area, one specifically climbed a very old one and lived in the tree for 2 years (she had a friend bring food to her ever couple days iirc)

It's so easy here to protest and cause havoc, block one or 2 important intersections next to the factory and you have way more effect than in a showroom on private property
