  • Judge Cicconetti has a soft spot for animals. So when animal abusers appear in front of him he’s all about giving them a taste of their own medicine and he gets really creative with punishments.

      @lilianacort8750 Před 14 dny +64

      EXACTLY. 65% difference is CRAZY due to the fact of the amount of people that go through court. They take the average of clients they get, then the amount of repeat in that amount to get their percent margin. To put it in a better perspective by using small numbers, 2000 people, and they get 500 repeats on average that's a 25% chance of getting repeat cases. So, depending on the crime rate and rate of cases charged in an area, the number of people rolling into court could be higher or lower. He's doing good work to lower the rate of people repeating their awful actions by making them feel it first and then see if they want someone else to feel that too for their own twisted pleasure, kudos to him!

      It’s very risky to do what this judge is doing. If that woman got killed while she was out in the woods at night, he would be held responsible and likely lose his job.
      Edit: I guess most of you don’t understand how the laws work in the US so I’ll expand on what I said. The judge imposes a sentence upon a defendant who has been convicted or who has pled guilty to a crime. There are specific guidelines set by law for particular crimes such as the amount of fines, length of imprisonment, jail time or probation. These guidelines may set the minimum and maximum amount of punishment the judge may impose on the defendant. All of this is protected by the 8th amendment which prohibits imposing excessive bail, excessive fines, or cruel and unusual punishments.

    Punishment without a lesson is just pain, and the abusers will only learn resentment and rebellion in the end.
    By putting the abusers in the same terrible conditions they put others through, they understand that pain on a more personal level and they learn to feel guilty for their actions. That is why the judge has such a low amount of repeated offenders.
