To be fair. The is no good or bad. One might categories Lee as phsycho. Lilly tried to look out for the group and she became paranoid because someone was stealing supplies. Even Lilly admits that she was bad for the group in the final season. No one is a hero or villain in twd universe and everyone is desperate. You help the people you care about and ignore the rest.

So basically, the stranger is meant to be nothing more than a foil for all of your choices. Regardless of what you did or didn't do, he's there to make you feel *guilty.*

Yeah, you're right on the point there.
Course, when the question "what would you have done" shows up, you see if:
1 - they had a better choice by answering immediately & what they say is a better solution than what you chose, then again they've had time to come up with that choice, you didn't. You had to make the choice then & there (unless you pause the game, LOL)
2 - they fall silent, they haven't pictured themselves in that situation, haven't asked themselves "what would I have done", I'm sure there's a word or term for that, but I'm not smart enough to know.

Exactly. People mistake this encounter as the stranger making any actual valid points. There are some choices he absolutely agrees with and won’t bring up; there are some choices that take priority over other ones; and he’ll never accept any of Lee’s justifications. But you have to understand: the stranger has nothing left to live for other than hate. It you tell him you’re sorry at the beginning, he’ll say: “I wish that meant something to me, Lee. I’m not a bad man, but this is all I have left.” After his wife and kids died he had absolutely no reason to keep living, but once he found Lee and Clementine: he latched onto hating Lee, even if he did nothing wrong because he needs SOME reason to keep going. He latches onto the idea of “adopting” Clementine because he needs a-well, not a replacement for his family; but someone to replace the position they held in his life.
The stranger is a sad, broken man latching onto anything and everything to keep himself going. He’s insane, he’s immoral, but he was a good man once; but everything he lost twisted him into something he never imagined himself becoming. He needs to go, but I can’t help but feel bad for what the group’s done to him and his family.

Yes, in Carly's case, she did a terrible thing, but really? Carly was an extremely smart and sensible girl, no one else is taken as a reporter. She should have understood perfectly well, what the consequences would be if she suddenly began to humiliate a paranoid with a pistol, who experiencing a nervous breakdown, but she did it anyway. Now don't get me wrong: I like Doug too. I think he's cool and all but really the only skill I've seen from him is being able to program a tv remote and in the zombie apocalypse, there isn't gonna be a whole lot of programming or hacking of electronics you'll be able to do. That's just my reason why I still always pick Carley.

But now, I always save Carley because of how much she contributed to the group. She would always give Lee advice on what's the best course of action, she deny's the food rations (unless its the apple) saying Lee or Clem should have it instead. Convinced Lee to tell everyone about his past because "There comes a time when you can get ahead of something like this. Do it before that chance is taken away". If Carley was in the game well beyond her death she would have been an absolute game changer and Episode 5 definitely wouldn't have happened. And the Romance part was a bonus.

    *Lie to Clementine (Episode 1)
*Fail to stop Clementine from eating human meat (Episode 2)
*Kill Danny St. Johns (Episode 2)
*Steal the Stranger's supplies (Episode 2)
*Abandon Lilly on roadside (Episode 3)
*Bring Clementine to Crawford (Episode 4)
    2) The Stranger also criticised you for these options you've made if you told him you never hurt anyone, so DON'T:
*Help Kenny kill Larry (Episode 2)
*Drop Ben in the bell tower (Episode 4)
    3) If you never choose those options in 1), the Stranger will criticised you for these options by default which cannot be avoided:
*Let Carley died if you save Doug (Episode 1)
*Let Doug died if you save Carley (Episode 1)
*Bring Clementine to St. Johns dairy farm (Episode 2)
*Don't bring Clementine to Crawford (Episode 4)
    4) If you never choose those choices in 2), the Stranger will remind you (as Lee) that you hurt your wife by killing her lover if you told him you never hurt anyone by default.

If Lee past doesn't matter, then the game for show brought it up all through the 1st season for it to be.

There by making us feel more or less guilty (most of his accusations are still dumb), the group could have helped him, tried to atone themself to him but no, he KIDnapped a lil' girl by lying to her about her parents. Here’s of what if Javier Garcia (from Season 3: A New Frontier) meets the stranger in TWD the telltale series season 1 episode 5 and the stranger has to asked Javier about if he hurt somebody that he cared about.
Stranger: Have you ever hurt somebody and your family that you cared about?
    “Say Not on purpose.”
    Javier: Not on purpose.
Stranger: If it were on purpose, you’d be sociopath.
    “Say Yes.”
    Javier: Yes, of course.
    Stranger: Who?
    “Say Clementine.”
Javier: Clementine. The girl that I met her. We were negative at first, but we were on good terms. She was originally going to be member of New Frontier, but she got kicked out when she disobeyed the orders. A.J. was left behind and he was missing. Clementine had a hope that she would look for him eventually.
    “Say Mariana Garcia.”
Javier: My niece named Mariana. She was killed at the junkyard near Richmond. I could’ve protected her from being killed. Maybe I didn’t want to die during a gunfight. And I felt sorry for her that I failed to protect her.
    “Say David Garcia.”
(If Javier side with Kate and/or fought David back.)
    Javier: My brother named David.
    “Say Tripp and Eleanor.”
    (If Javier shot Conrad.)
Javier: A boy and a women from Prescott named Tripp and Eleanor. The only one of their friend had survived the attack is Conrad. While we were on our way of tunnel, Conrad learned that Clementine was the member of the New Frontier. He suggests that we should bring her to New Frontier and he grabbed my nephew to threaten to kill him if I refuse his offer. I thought that he was gonna kill Gabe, so I shot him. Eventually, Tripp and Eleanor found out that I killed him. They were really angry and had nothing to do with me. I guess that’s why I should’ve shot Conrad and accept his offer to trade Clem into the New Frontier.
    “Say Kate Garcia.”
    (If Javier rejected Kate.)
Javier: A woman on our family named Kate. Ever since my brother David lost his ex-wife, he married Kate, although Kate secretly disliked the marriage. It’s because she didn’t want to be second wife with David. She wanted to love with me more than my brother. Even thought Kate didn’t want to be with David, I can’t make anything between us.
    Stranger: And?
“Side with Gabe.”-She also wanted to leave Richmond and left David behind because it’s a warzone and that David would get us killed. I didn’t want to do something bad if I tried to leave with Kate, so I bring Kate and Gabe to a safe place. “Say to David that Kate didn’t want him” While my brother David and I were in cell, I decided to tell him that Kate was done and over to him. He found out and he was really upset that he punches somethings.
“Side with Kate.”-I agree with Kate that this place isn’t safe. We tried to leave Richmond, but the guards stopped me. Now, David found out it, and he was really mad at me about trying to leave him.
“David pissed” He and I fought until he was escorted out, although he is still mad and even raging at the leader of New Frontier when he loses it. “David calm”-He didn’t punish me for trying to leave me. Maybe he decided not to threw a rage at me. “David pissed”-It’s looks like after David was betrayed by everyone, he finally lost it. “David calm”-Don’t worry, David was behaving himself, although he wanted the New Frontier leader to die. “Was romance to Kate”-However, she was angry at me, because I already felt something and she slapped me. “Said to Kate no to be like this”-I tried to tell Kate not to be so much mad, but she told me leave her alone.
She just wanted to make it right by trying to romantic with me, not being a second wife with David and I didn’t want to be with her inappropriately.
    “Say No.”
    Javier: No.
Stranger: That’s not true. “Side with Gabe”-You didn’t care about women who was in your family when you refused to leave with her so that you wouldn’t leave your brother behind because you didn’t want to make him pissed at you? “Shot Conrad”-What about that black guy who were friends with boy and a women who were from...Prescott was it? If it didn’t hurt him when you shot him, whatever you did hurt that boy and a women. “Neither of the above”-What about your niece?
    “Say nothing”
Stranger: It’s okay. I know you have.

@Elias persson most of the things the stranger blames lee for is unfair and I don't think he had right to be angry at lee for certain actions lee could do nothing about
1st off the farm: lee he had no idea what the st john's where like until it was to late if he had known they where cannibals from the start he would have never brought clem their in the first place and the only reason we killed Danny was because he was crazy and we have no idea what he will do if we leave him alive and he killed mark and probably a lot of people
2ed off: we left lily because she killed Carly for no good reason she had no proof it was Carly and it wasn't Carly at all if we did bring lily she would just steal the rv and leave the others for dead and who knows what she would do if she did not steal the rv and blaming lee for saving Carly we where put in a tuff choice to make lee could only save one and the stranger was not their he had no idea what the situation was like lee was force to make a tuff decision not dose not get to judge lee for something he could do nothing about but save one and he blame lee either way no matter who he saves
3erd off bringing clem to Crawford its actually better to bring clem to Crawford then leave her at the house because if the stranger did show up at the house while everyone was at Crawford clem would have just left with him and Omid would not be able to do anything about it and clem would still believe the stranger has her parents' so its better to bring her to make sure nothing can happen to her while she's with you and with armed people and lee had no idea why the stranger want clem in the first place and when he says clem nearly died so many times with lee he would have never done better in those situations and lee did a better job taking care of clem then the stranger did of his whole family cause he lost his son in the woods some how and he left his car unintended and with the keys in the ignition for anyone to take which did happen so that's on him for why his stuff got taken from the car and i bet that's why his wife was so angry at him and left with their daughter lee is a way better caretaker then that crazy guy who knows what he would have done if he took off with clem
