Kenny IS right when he says "One person can't be in charge of everything" its kind of how America's government works. Lee doesn't even say that Kenny is in charge when siding with him, he straight up says Lilly is the leader of almost everything EXCEPT for people's lives.
It's funny. In episode 4 when Kenny finds out Ben got his family killed, if Lee says "Put it up to vote." Kenny's response is, "Sure! This is America! Fuck it!"
You're right that it should be democratic, but later episodes and Season 2 show Kenny will do whatever the hell he wants regardless of vote. TV Tropes points this out and theorizes Kenny only wants it that way because he assumes he'll get the majority, which is why he trips out when Lee doesn't agree with him.
@john doe Lee is the leader(Every one is pretty much alive because of him) , but Kenny is the real one of season 1... And 2. Reason being all the arbitrary choices involving him or his family are really about his arc weather he will go with you to save Clem or not. You must go with him after Hershell is angry, you must go hunting with him in episode 2,you must go to the town with him in episode 3,you must go with him on the RV, you must go with him on the train, you must find a boat, you must sneak into a very dangerous place to fix it.
Lily, don't forget how much pressure she was under as a leader. + She had to deal with the fact that someone in the group was giving away supplies. Now she did act irrational during the Doug/Carley scene, but she also had to deal with the death of her father who died like a few days before. I feel bad for her, and I wish she had some type of redemption in the final season.
Poor Doug though. When I saved him he was super passive and neutral, always wanting to avoid conflict and settle disputes rather than go head on vocal and defensive. Lilly was still a bit torn over shooting him instead of if you save Carly in S4
But in a long run, Kenny took out Ben (by mercy killing) to make sure he didn’t suffer a gruesome death by getting torn apart brutally by walkers and in Season 3 he saved Clementine and AJ by sacrificing himself since both of his legs were fucked. In my opinion, Kenny is better than Lily and considering the fact her role in Season 4 didn’t help either.
I love Kenny but Lilly is right in most situations. In the first argument Lilly is in the right because the group needs a leader and Lilly happens to be the leader, I don't think Lilly has made a lot of bad decisions for the group so she's a good leader (the only bad choice she made was killing Carley/Doug) and if the group did not have a person to hand out the food then everybody would be fighting for food and it would be chaos. In the Larry meat locker incident Kenny decided to kill Larry and completely ignored the possibility that he could've still been alive.
No she isn't. Kenny actually was defending Lee in this video. Lee decided to give other people a chance to survive by bringing Ben here or chopping that man's leg off, Kenny was defending that they can make their own decisions, and you think that it's a good thing not siding with him when he is basically defending your freedom to make the decision of bringing people?, siding with Lily here is a dick move and a stab at Kenny's back when he is defending you. Also with the Larry situation. It's pretty unrealistic that Larry would recover when he didn't have medical supplies and even the first time he needed medical supplies to recover. Kenny had good arguments to kill him. Larry wouldn't have recovered there without the correct attention, and that was putting all of them in risk because all of them were stucked in the meatlocker. Also, Kenny saved Lee when Larry tried to kill him, putting Larry's life above anyone and putting all in risk is a really dick move.
Lily as a leader isn't bad. But she is certainly hard on others. Clementine reflects this in the final season if Lily was spared where she can note on Lily's change of behavior. She's always been rough but her cruelty came later. As a leader of the original survivor group; she lacked mercy for others outside their group. Ben and his teacher/friend were in need and she was angry about it. Her care for others was met with apathy, if not extreme indifference. - Lily had issues talking to others and would bring conflict with Kenny more which caused more problems between them. Kenny was, and has been brash. And everyone now sees Lily was 100% right about Ben being a problem who caused the Raiders to swarm the motel. Lily was correct but her grief and hairline trigger for her rage get the better of her by killing one of her own in cold blood.
@@aliciabaskerville1077 Freedom of choice matters very little in this case, bringing people in would only make the food situation worse. Doesn't matter of kenny was defending lee or not, Lilly was right.
You know if you think about it, Lilly and Kenny aren't that different, i mean, both have some angers issues, both of them can be total assholes if you disagree with them, both have killed someone in their own group, Lilly killing Carley/Doug and Kenny killing Larry and Jane. The only difference is that Clem reunited with Kenny sooner than she did with Lilly, back then it wasn't too late for Kenny, and Clem and AJ were the main reason why Kenny didn't turn into a psychopathic killer, but i'm pretty sure if the roles were reversed and Clem reunited with Lilly in Season 2 and then with Kenny in Season 4, Kenny wouldn't be that different from Season 4 Lilly.
No Kenny had anger problems and looked broken but let's just say clem wasn't there he would have ended up being the one to protect AJ or dye trying. Kenny managed to keep going and even forgive Ben to a certain degree when his family was dead but when Larry was dead (I mean he was old was gonna die sooner or later) Lilly could not cope and just shot carley/doug cause she thought carley or Ben is a traitor with no proof and just stirred up a lotta drama. She started to change at that point even if Lee is kind enough to let her stay with the group she takes advantage of that kindness.
What does “defended” Kenny mean? I always sided with Kenny and got the “you’ve always been there for me” friendly Kenny at the end but when I gave him the piece of jerky he thanked me and said he was starved not the adorable “then I truly appreciate you taking Care of us lee” dialogue I heard here for the first time
I sided with Kenny and I fed Clem, Duck, Mark, and Larry to at least stay on Lily's good side. When I run out of food, Kenny appreciates that I fed Duck over him because he says looking out for the kids is what a real man does, but you can tell he's still frustrated about not getting to eat by his expression.
Sorry I'm late. No he isn't angry. It is just the fact that in this scene Larry, if you didn't give him food, could come and yell at you, and Kenny would glare right back at him. If Larry doesn't come, Kanny still glare at nothing😂
What is rather sad is these arguments, who should be in charge bla bla bla, is ultimately pointless. Lilly will either be left behind in episode 3 or she will take the RV no matter what. Kenny's arc through all of this, all of choices Lee has towards him count if he will go with Lee to the hospital in the fifth episode or not, which isn't anything at all. Lee can go to the hospital and get out just fine. If Lee goes alone, old patients will still steal the boat. If every one goes with Lee, Lee is still that does all the work. Lee still dies, and for future seasons, Kenny will still help Clementine, and Lilly will become a sociopath. No matter. Which. Decisions. You. Make. It's why I could care less about the dialogue variations. Little details don't matter if the main thing isn't there. If it feels half-a$$ed. One thing that was never clear to me are the writers.
