How to Laser Engrave, Laser Cut & Paint in LASERGRBL using my ORTUR LM2 PRO. I’m doing up some Halloween earrings while the paint on some bigger signs are drying. The files have been uploaded to the “ Subscribers Only” Facebook page! Details are in this video as well.
Earrings are a good seller at a Point of Purchase Counter ! Great to make out of scraps !
I’m designing in Sign Master for todays video. I usually design in Corel Draw 9 /12 or ADOBE FRESCO. I use Gimp for photo editing and I’m playing in Inkscape at the moment to be able to help people with that. Inkscape isnt a bad little free program to add text to your Images. But, you will find yourself limited over time. It’s resolution settings aren’t the best and it’s slow to Export. 🤷♀️
My Settings:
Engraving - 1900 mm/min 5% min, 85% max DYNAMIC POWER
Cutting- 300 mm/min speed, 85% power min & max , 4 passes on CONSTANT POWER with my LU2-4 20 watt laser. (5.5 watt output) I’m able to get such clean and crisp engraving & cutting. These earrings are only 1.5 Inches wide!

Now I really wish I had a GOPRO camera I could strap on my chest or a Hockey Helmet! 😝An overhead camera system would even be nice to get a better view of my work surface. But truth be told I can’t afford that at the moment, and I need 1000 subscribers for CZcams to share the wealth and pay me for my content they shove advertisements in to!

@@disignscdn Don't worry, I am another menopausal fogged woman without half a thyroid, and I know we can both do fine. I am learning to use another laser engraver, an Atomstack, and I love these machines, you gave me great ideas to try!

What kind of wood do you use?
Sorry I didn’t reply sooner.. I didn’t get a notification ! But anywho.. I like using basswood or birch ply. Basswood sheets are much cheaper than birch ply right now. I get a 10 pack 11.8” x 11.8” x 1/8” for $31.99 CAD from Amazon . Cuts beautifully with my 10 watt at 225 mm/min , M3 constant power, min 94% Max 95% . One pass , also with air assist. 😊

@@crafty-zebra Awesome! You will like basswood. It’s far better for intricate designs . If you plan on doing some earrings check out the lobster claw clasps rather than the wee tiny rings you have to bend to get through the holes ..those suckers fly out of your fingers and are impossible to find 😂 ( speaking from experience .. lol )
