Yes old chap, it is perfectly fine for you to be proud of your work and your contribution. Thank you so much.
Thank You Kindly!
I'm new to engraving and found this extremely helpful! thanks for the tip!
To prevent under-bleed start with a clear coat to seal, and then add your color.
THANK YOU
Do you coat it before applying the mask or once you've engraved it?
@@joaquina2447 After applying the mask... if it bleeds, it bleeds clear and seals those gaps.
@@rychei5393 🔥
I would clear coat before the mask. It will fill the wood grain, reducing bleeding under the mask.
Great content! I like to use Mod Podge after the engraving but before the painting. Just a thin coat in the engraving will help to better seal the tape to the wood and help seal the engraved edges so the paint does not wick out.
i love when the people show everything! Thx bro!
Thanks, really appreciate that.
Great idea, like the options that this gives to making projects pop with color. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the support and motivation!
One Work: Spectacular
Amazing project.Thank for your time
Bro, first time hitting your channel up and love the detail and how in-depth you go while also making it extremely simple and dumbed down for people like me (beginner with absolutely no design/artistic experience)! I have ordered a new Fusion Edge 12, 40 watt and excited to get started in products like this and others!
Thanks Austin, really appreciate your support
wow! new ways to create professional projects 💪🏼👏🏻👏🏻
First video I have found to be thorough and detailed throughout the whole process. 10/10
Much appreicted!
I am beyond what you would call a newbie...haven't even reached the newbie stage yet! I have a laser that I've yet to use because I truly don't know were to began. I've been watching a lot of videos to try and get a handle on were to start. Never understood what they would mean by masking and never knew what type of paint to use. They tell you to mask and then paint but... Anyway, I want to thank you for taking the time to explain the very basics of this project. You've cleared up quite a few questions that I had. Looking forward to searching and watching more of your videos. I've already hit the subscribe button. Thanks again.
Thank You kindly, and I wish you the best on your journey!
I found one alternative to weeding is to roll some painters tape around your hand and drag it across the surface like you were cleaning lint off of clothing. It will peel off most of the little pieces of masking. Won't work on acrylic and some other surfaces because It will leave some adhesive residue.
Cool tip!
Absolutely fantastic job!
Nicely done. I am just now getting into the business and this was a well done easy to understand video. I think my biggest challenge is going to be figuring out what speed and power to use so I don't waste my product. Thanks
Thanks for your help! Painter tip…do Not put paint anywhere near where the brush and handle come together…it’s just a waste and damages the brush while making it tougher ta clean.
Thank you so much!! I wish you great success.
Love this video. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you for sharing this!
Awesome instructions! Thanks!
Been thinking of doing this- you have inspired me ! Great job of explaining the process. Appreciate you taking the time to show others your skill/craft with videos😀
Great video !!! I will try this method with engraving my pen turning projects. Thank you
This is a super cool idea. I can’t wait to try it out
Hola...
Excelente trabajo, el resultado es genial...
Muchas gracias por compartir éste proyecto...
Saludos.
Massive thanks from Edinburgh Scotland for that tutorial. Is exactly what I am looking for.
Glad it helped, thanks for watching!
Very helpful video! Thanks! I had no idea you could do this through Corel Draw! Now I’ll be spending the day figuring out if it will work with my ORTUR. JUST A suggestion to avoid bleed through and having to sand is : first coat of a colour similar to your wood, allow to dry and then add your colour. This is very effective when painting with vinyl stencils on wood.
Great video! .. As of the spray paint bleeding problem it can be overcome with covering the engraved area with modpodge or spray laquer first. I didn't try it myself yet but I saw some videos here showing the process :) Enjoy!
You can also spray your piece of wood with clear lacquer before putting on the tape (let it dry first obviously) . Then when you engrave the paint is less likely to bleed.
my laser guy actually has me finish the piece before he engraves he then masks and burns
You can hit it with the clear lacquer again after engraving before painting to stop the bleeding to.
Thanks for sharing! This has definitely expanded my horizons!❤
You are so welcome!
Wow thanks for the tutorial! This really helps expand my ideas.
Thank you your a Master of your craft !
Thank you for all the extremely helpful tips, I’m new to lasers and I’ve learned so much from your videos.
You are very welcome thanks for your support!
Beautiful job!

Mind = Blown
Very helpful video. Thanks
You're welcome
Really nice job and well done video. Thanks for sharing.
great vídeo
Appreciate that!!
Excellent video. Thanks.
Very nice project, thanks for the lesson
Great video! Thanks
I enjoyed this video. Thanks for the tips, especially regarding the choice of paint based on how it interacts with the wood and using a sander to smooth things off 👍🏾
Good and very clear video. Thanks
This is genius 💡💙
Good content. You are a good teacher for somebody like me who is just getting started. I hope to see more.
Liked and Subscribed.
Thanks BG!
Amazing video thank you for the great tips!
SO GOOD... thanks. I am NEW TO MOST ALL OF THIS... just got my Genmitsu L8 Pro Max Laser 20w
Pretty nice. The 3M blue tape seems to hold pretty good! The clear coat must help alot staying good for a long time
Excellent video sir! I just wish I would have seen this last week when I was doing my project. Now I know something. 😃
New to engraving here. Thanks for the video, really informative. Some machine you got there also!
Very interesting technique. Thanks for sharing.
One other thing to consider, is to spray the clear coat on the wood before masking to stop the bleed of the paint. You would want to let that stand in open space for a day so that it doesn't gas off in the laser.
def all good ideas, I would just make sure that the the tape does not peel up the clear coat, but hey if it works, that's another great tip!
@@LaserEngraving911 Just spitballing, but I'm assuming using lacquer wouldn't cause a peel issue? Even if it did, another coat of lacquer over the entire project at the end should blend everything together.
Nice video!
Not necessarily however, if that works for you, cool!
Great video! I made myself a horror box to put in my bedroom because I'm such a horror fan, but found that painting my box a specific color also colored in the engraving parts that I originally wanted black. This defintiely gave me an idea of how I can fix that problem for next time. Thank you for this!
Your welcome sounds like a fun project!! Thanks for the support!
A flat bathroom door squeegee can take much of the fill off of the face. A carefully used hard roller can cover the face without touching the fill.
alright young man, another well done, informative video. Thank you
Thank you ! appreciate that!
Enjoyed the video. Thanks for the tips.
Professional painter...best tape for no bleeding and you can leave it on all night ..frog tape..little more expensive, but always bleed-free..the best I have found
As a professional painter did you cringe at him dunking his brush up past the ferrule?
@@Graeme758 As soon as I saw that.. the first thing that popped into my head was ROOKIE......my first-year...apprentices would never do that in front of me I... pay for their tools..would tear them a new one and if hired some guy as an experienced painter and I saw that ..it would be his last day on my job-site
Nice explanation. I'm getting my engraver in a few days and this is something I'll trying the first day. Thanks!
Thanks!
Great tutorial, you explain yourself very well. Can’t wait to get my engraving machine in the next week or so!
Please which machine you use ?
@@ikbal2599 I have a L1 Pro Laserpecker that I am trying to get rid of. It is brand new and you find it on Amazon.
great content....exelent explain.... tanks
Awesome video!
That came out great.
Thank You!
Dude rocks. Clicked subscribe right before you mentioned it - now looking at the links. Quality stuff.
TY Jim, glad you enjoyed!
Thus was rich and amazing.. thank you very much
2 thing I noticed right off as a previous vinyl/heatpress & silkscreen guy... Corel DRAW and the stahls weeder! I never see anyone use Corel on CZcams. Such an awesome program! great idea with the tape!
Thank you for this, it looks great!
Glad you like it! hope you get a chance to try this!
I I have watched numerous videos about lasers and I noticed one common feature "THE BEARD". Cannot grow a beard so I guess I will just hope for the best if I ever get to buy my own laser. Kidding aside the artists that produce these videos and art pieces are amazing. I cannot draw a straight line with a ruler or draw or paint a picture, so I really appreciate what you all do. Keep creating.
With Great Beard, Comes Great Responsibility, Thank You for your support!
Look great
Great video. Thank you!
This is a great idea
Definitely going to give this a go. Great idea
Nice, do it!
Hey Michael.. I just asked a question about Vectors in the leather patches on hats video.. I asked about vectors and stuff like that and now I know u have a video on all that stuff too.. Lovely Jubley man.. I know nothing! I'm learning on the fly man so thanks for that information,,
Great video, very clear and informative Am new to engraving etc but this has give me confidence that I need. Keep up the good work.
Great to hear!
Fantastic video! Will try tomorrow...
Have fun!
So Simple....never thought of That!
, glad you liked it!
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing very helpful video
Great video, great explanation of everything, especially the part about not waiting for the paint not dry completely. The only ting I would ad is that if it is going top be exposed to any moisture at all make sure that you seal the back side as well to make sure it does not absorb water and warp.
right on!
Awesome!! Thank you! 😊 & I subscribed.
Wonderful well thought out and explained presentation, especially the point on pulling off the masking tape early. I ran into that problem with the paint coming off. I saw on another video where someone prevented the underbleed on the edges by first hitting the either the bare, or fully painted or stained wood with lacquer/gloss clear/other sealing (making sure it's totally dry of course before using the laser machine). Then they did the engraving and paint fill and would do more final finishing on top of the paint after it dried. Perhaps that isn't best for all applications and better to sand like you did afterwards if working with bare wood. What are your thoughts on that? I did that and it seemed to work well.Thank you for taking the time to create this video for us!
I have seen lots of folks talk about sealing the wood prior to paint filling, I think its a cool idea, you can also add some clear coat to seal everything in like the video as well. Like you said each application is different and I encourage lots of experimentation!
Nice, thanks bro!
Great job man keep making videos
Excellent ! Thank you
Glad you liked it!
Excellent!!! Thank you so much!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. I'm new to the laser engraving and am a sponge right now. I'll definitely be giving this a try.
That's how I got here too!!!
Me too just got a Chinese 60W
Nice video. Thanks
I just bought my laser engraver, to do a specific job , but the number of different things I,m learning about, that can be achieved on these machines is mind blowing and a little overwhelming , where do I start , loved the video cheers.
Start by lasering everything you can around your shop! 🤣 you will learn alot by how different material react to laser, and take notes, write down all your settings, its great way to learn.
Awesome video’ I’m a newbie and found this a great education which has given me some good ideas ‘ thank you’
Glad it was helpful! Thank You for your support!
The nice thing about this approach is that you can easily determine after half an hour whether you need another layer of acrylic paints or not.
A buddy who works a lot with vinyl cutters uses a cheapo set of actual dentist tools to weed out parts of the mask, low-quality stuff you wouldn't want anywhere near your mouth but is perfect for detail work like that.
Agreed!
This is amazing. Thank you.
Nice!!
Way cool.
Great!
Nice......FKN FANTABULOUS.....love it.....
excellent
Many many thanks
loved this tutorial. Very new to lasers, in fact I dont get my machine for another couple of weeks, so doing lots of research in advance.
