The Outcast Dead are a good example. Forced to be fugitives in Terra during the Horus Heresy since they belong to the Traitor Legions, they only wished to escape Terra and some to re-join their Legions or just escape away and be free.
They were hunted down and all these renegade/hunted Space Marines died in the end.

More seriously though, it'd be interesting to hear about the Cursed 21st Founding (Black Dragons and Fire Hawks being the most known of them) or the Astartes Praeses (the 20 marine chapters assigned to guard the Eye of Terror).
The iron hands just couldn't catch a break through out the horus heresy they had the shit kicked into them none stop.

Blood ravens, I hear some cool stuff was added in about them after the games, giving them more of a fleshed out backstory.
Question: were there any insubordinations among space marines from traitor legions during Horus Heresy ?
Decision whether or not to join rebelion was made solely by primarchs, while their space marines were extremely loyal to commanders. However after all they were all serving the Emperor and they were human beings after all, not machines, with conscience and individual decision making ability. Were there any space marines who refused to join heresy despite their primarch's orders ?
Yes, they were purged before tho. There was a massive build up to the betrayal giving the primarchs time to clean their legions of loyalists
George Bird is correct. Many of the space marines that were part of the legion before their primarchs took control were strategically eliminated. The traitor primarchs knew they would never betray the emperor
Not all of them had died though. Garviel Loken, the character you spend the most time with in the first few books, is said to have been one of the veterans who had founded the Grey Knights. There were other survivors, i'm just not certain if there were many - enough to make an impact
I was about to say that. If I played I the miniature game I would have an army of renegades who were either loyalists from traitor legions or survivors of disasters that ended their smaller groups.

QUESTION: What happen to the remains of Ferrus Manus? Are there any left?
His head was taken by either Horus or Fulgrim and then presented to the other one as a gift (I can't remember who gave the head to who). The living metal of his hands was carved off to make weapons for the traitor forces and the rest of his body was carved up by the traitor legions to take trophies. It's also rumored that the mechanicus somehow acquired his corpse and are holding/restoring it on Mars tho those rumors make the Iron Hands and Mechanicus very mad.
Brent Wagner It was Fulgrim that killed him and gave his head to Horus. That is a sad fate for such a mighty Primarch. I hope that Games Worshop will consider reincarnation for him. It seems much more logical then waiting for the other Primarches to come back.
Anzu Wyliei I do remember that Ferrus Manus was tried to be cloned but each time he rebelled and was forced to be killed.

It has been suggested that some of them may have served as Black Shields in the Deathwatch. Of course to do this they must keep their origins a secret as if it was discovered they were traitors they would be killed.
