Drive is very important series to me because it was the only rider series that me and my best friend couldn't finish together because my friend passed away that year so drive reminds me a lot about him I'm going to continue to miss him but as Long Kamen Rider is around I'll continue to watch it as long as possible and always remember him at his best

Gou saying "It said I could go." Is one of the best lines of dialog and I wrote about that scene in my high school English class, explaining the entire character aspects of him and Chase. One of the few times I got above a 100 in class.

It always felt like Chase was giving Gou permission to kill Benno.
Chase was the definition of a best man. Knowing that Shinosuke and Kiriko loved each other deep down abs that he’d basically already lost his chance at love, he instead focuses on the aspect of having become more human and puts his drive into protecting the ones he and the one he loves cares about. Absolute A+ best man material.
I'd strive to be a man like Chase.

I just wanted to say thank you for your "History of Kamen Rider" series. I've loved Kamen Rider since forever it feels like, but I've never had the time or energy to watch most of seasons properly. I've finished and loved Fourze, watched Decade and had some forays into other seasons such as Agito, Kiva and Den-O, but I always had to stop due to some event in my life taking precedence, and then not being able to come back to the season.
So, again I just wanted to say thank you for this series. Apparently it's the only way I'll ever experience Kamen Rider proper, and as far as I care, it's a rather good way.

I think the toy shilling was actually really good for this season. This is a toy commercial, we all know this and there’s two ways of doing this: let it be a background piece or make it something personal. Drive so far is the season to make this personal in the right ways.
Dream Vegas got a character arc in a couple of episodes and showed off bonding between Drive and Vegas, when do we get this kinda love for the toys in other seasons? Compare it to a Lock Seed which are universally loved but do you love the Lock Seed for what it is itself or because of the noises/season it was in/who it was used by/etc. I now see Dream Vegas as a personality instead of a collectors item and I wouldn’t split him from Dimension Cab for the world, even if I had them in toy form! It never just stops there: Hunter & Monster in a Televekun, Commercial became the Shift Car of Otta in spirit which gave both of them a lot of weight, Max Flare became cute somehow in another Televekun?? It’s rare you’ll see a Shift Car and not feel like they’re another part of the crew. If I had the toys, I’d see them past the plastic.

Between the 5 series that I have currently finished, the Roidmudes have to be my favorite villains. The development of the Mudes was a roller coaster of emotions
Not gonna lie, because of you I now call Gaim "Fruity Samurai Space Jesus". Don't get me wrong, I love "Fruit Jesus", but I think "Fruity Samurai Space Jesus" is as accurate a description of him as possible, lol. Love the History of Kamen Rider series, keep doing the work of our lord and savior Fruit Jesus!
Yaya Gaim was my first season. I picked it randomly and I knew nothing about it. I thought the fruit motif was dumb but it grew on me and I got excited while watching and the tone shift hit me hard as I missed them wanting to go back to everything being fun. It was great
Two hours... Yeah seems about right for a show where all the extended media was canon lol.
I finished the main series but haven't watched the extras and movies. But watching Fruit Jesus and Car Cop being too big to fit in the car got a good laugh out of me. I still want someone's powerups to prevent them from entering a building. Like Post-Reiwa Decade's helmet being too tall or something.

Or worse, Kiriko gets killed off if she became a Kamen Rider, since that's the trend with Female Riders, they either die early, or live long enough to become irrelevant.
@Strider Xanthos Marika and Siren (unless you mean from Dragon Knight) got killed off. Marika especially was disappointing, she was a badass at first, but they she just ended up following Kaito and died, she could've been done better. whose Mage 1...? Also as Marcos said, Poppy barely used it, and Nico didn't do that much, so they just became side characters. I just want them to have more importance or just doing more things throughout the story, not just " do some things right" and become background nobodies afterwards. I hope Valkyrie doesn't suffer the same trend, since she an extra Rider, right after Vulcan (Secondary Rider). But that's just me.
Or only transform in the final part of the story just so they can stab a Decade and never be a rider again.

I like how the show reuses parts for suits. Normally, I’d think it is lazy and a cash grab, but makes a lot of makes sense in the show. Like drive super dead heat using parts of Machin Chaser since both forms are like a super prototype or unrefined version of the drive system. Or when Mach uses Chase’s signal bike to become Chaser Mach. Initially, I thought Chaser Mach came out of nowhere and it’s ugly. It’s still ugly, but rewatching it I realized Chaser’s signal bike was made as an upgrade for Mach originally so it’s cool. Cause it’s not random or out of nowhere.
As much as I like Kamen Rider Gaim and samurais/ronins, I think I actually prefer Kamen Rider Drive over Gaim. In fact it is one of my favorite Kamen Riders. I do like cop dramas but having a bit of the Japanese cheesy comedy on top of the Heisei Kamen Rider action stuff with pretty fun well rounded characters, it was more satisfying. Also despite being a damsel in distress at times, I like Kiriko over Mai who was a annoying tsundere hellbent on dance teams or a plot device that makes no sense. Kiriko at least tries to help even though she has no superhuman powers and her relationship with Shinosuke makes more sense than Mai and Kouta. Kouta is cool but Mai is not. Also the side characters and even the villains were interesting. Chase, Gou, Heart and Krim Steinbelt were really good characters. I guess my taste in racing games also made me like Kamen Rider Drive more but I still enjoy Gaim for what it is outside of Mai.

Im a lot older than most of you guys here. I started watching tokusatsu in the mid 80s. I got to become a huge Metal Heroes fan during the 90s. Then I moved on to Sentai. And I never got into Kamen Rider much even though I saw Kamen Rider Black, Black RX, Kuuga and Faiz. Nothing wrong with these shows. They just werent my cup of tea. Now because of your video, Im binge watching Drive. To me it goes back so much to Metal Heroes from the 90s. It is barely a Kamen Rider. It does have the "brand" Kamen Rider so to speak. But what worked for me was the fact it moved away from a lot of things the franchise brought to the table. Again, it just isnt my cup of tea most of the time. But Im loving Drive and your video was the reason I started to watch it. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos!!!!

Kamen Rider Drive is as Heisei 2 as it gets tbh. Only difference it had that he was the first Kamen Rider who didn't have weird dress up code or hairstyle and a "proper" job. Shinnosuke was the most masculine looking we got in a while too.

the only kamen rider i finished completely. it was good, characters likeable and not overly goofy like in some of the others and the suits and fights are cool
When Drive was airing I had a hard time getting into it, especially after the bombastic and edgy Gaim it was difficult to get into a more straightforward Rider. I fell off around episode 10, just before we learned exactly what caused the global freeze, what the Roidmudes are, etc. A few months ago I binged the whole series and it's obvious that I dropped off right before it got really good and that overall it plays a lot better binged, because the serialized plot creeps up on you over the course of the show. Great show and a top 5 Rider series for me for sure.
And the way rounded up the Kiriko and Shinnosuke love story with the Drive/Ghost movie just made the story end with a chef's kiss 🥰
It's my top 8 most favorite Rider show rn currently as I just finished watching Drive around yesterday and it truly is a fantastic series!! 👌😄

saying Drive is fantastic shows just how limited language can be sometimes; drive isnt just fantastic but theres no words to truly say what it feels like to have a show that sucks you in enough that I cried wile you were going over the events of the last 3 episodes. not sad tears but tears of genuine compassion for the roidmude commanders and the kame riders. that end is one of the best endings to a show ive ever seen. it just feels so god damn good.
It was also the last phse 2 show I watched- I put it off cause Im not a car person and I was choosing which shows to watch by how cool I thought te gimmick was and that primary suit just isnt made for me. with that said Id rewatch drive anytime it with that underwhelming suit themeing quickly became one of my favorites and is in my top 5. with the theme song suprise drive getting an even higher approval for m top 3 material right there with ghost and ooo my two favorites. Alot of phase 2 can have their gimmicks surmised in two words put together
Double detective, Kingly riches, Universal friendship, Magical hope, Forbidden Fruit, ect and I find CopCar to prolly be the most sneaky ones. its something ive noticed atleast idk if they consciously desigend them thinking this way and might just be a thing I put ogether. but like the show is literally CopCar thats just too cute in retrospect.
I love Heart as an antagonist.

I think the reason they used drive's rider kick sparingly was because they didn't want it to go stale due to overuse. That and/or its due to the fact the tridoron is part of the kick they were more restricted as to when it could be shown
This season is perfection. Its just everything i liked in one season. Its also different we have a much older actor playing the main lead. Plus the side content is just great

I kinda wish Kamen riser Mach had his own series, where he was actually a Roidmude but he didn’t know he was. He battles machine chaser but always tries to Turn him good, maybe we could see other good Roidmudes, also this hypothetical show would have no characters from the original

Suits are cooler, theme songs are cooler, Gentarou is very likable and relatable, the story is great... Ghost is a real deception, when you see him at Drive vs his own show.
Just because he didn’t appeared on Zi-O, he’s not bad dude, also, Sougo did a Hard Reset on everything, so he is alive and well and most of all doing better than Ghost EVER DID, he doesn’t need a cameo on Zi-O to be likable, just 3 or 4 movies is enough. No riders from Double showed up, does that make Double bad? Sorry, it doesn’t. Think very well on the things you may say, before getting embarrassed.
And before you say “How About Eternal?” He’s from the MOVIES, he only appeared on two episodes from the Movie arc. Like Aqua showing up. I rather watch Fourze than Ghost because we get great development and growth from a lot of characters, even the villains.
