My philosophy is that I'll use an open face if I'm staying in the city on 35mph roads and below. Beyond that, full armor, leather and modular helmet. I rationalize this with the fact that I ride my road bike (bicycle) almost that fast on the same roads with even less protection, and I find the wind in my face and wide peripheral vision very enjoyable. That's my choice, and I speak only for myself ;)

Here on CT helmets not mandatory..70s&80s I never wore a helmet.. now back into cycling I wear a half helmet and because it's comfortable /unrestricting..I wear it 100% of the time! Just purchased open-faced
LS2 with built in visor and built-in sun visor.. this will be my cooler weather helmet.. it also has venting... The visor has venting to keep it fog free

Notice the Bell 500 helmet at the 4:15 mark doesn't sit correctly on the guy's head. The whole helmet is rotated to the right as you can see by the center snap not being centered with his head and by the sides of the helmet. I just ordered a Bell 500 (January 2022) and sent it back because it was rotated on my head like this. If the liner isn't installed properly why buy it? Also, the side snaps didn't line up with the 5-snap shield I had. If you look at different pictures of the Bell 500 you'll see the side snaps at different locations on different helmets. Sometimes they are below and in front of the chin strap rivet and other times they are above and behind this rivet. I don't know if this is because of different shell sizes or manufacturing issues, but the snap pattern is not the same on these helmets.

It depends on the rider, at the end of the day our helmets are the second line of defense when it comes down to our safety but not the end all be all to injury prevention. I ride with a retired motorcycle cop who’s seen even full face helmets cause necks to snap and paralyze the rider because of the chin bar impact. Again there are other reason of why their neck snapped. That being said riding safe is overall the responsibility that should take priority. For me I wear full face and 3/4. Although I’ve spent 5 years in the navy on small ribs going rain or shine in a half shell getting use to traveling fast at open waters with rain feeling like needles on my face prepared me for that on a bike. I will still prefer a full face in it’s still not the worst thing I’ve ever dealt with and is manageable. Again it’s all up to the rider we’re all different.

@@Jurassnic If he drives 80 on highways, as do I, and wrecks without a helmet, head hits the ground immediate death. If he wears a helmet, hits the ground, probably immediate death and if not, then he will be brain dead, or paralyzed, or something is going to massively wrong with him after.
I think helmets should be a choice, not mandatory.

I have been riding motorcycles for more than 40 years, had a couple of wrecks without a helmet, and never hit my head. However, I did slip on the ice and hit my head on the sidewalk when walking out to my car one winter morning and it gave me a concussion. Maybe everyone should be wearing a "walking helmet" just to be safe.

Keep in mind that when we shot this video 3 years ago, the OTW (Over The Wall from their Nascar designs) was made in the US. Since this video was shot a lot has changed including the location of manufacturing for it. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Gear Geeks at cs@revzilla.com or 877.792.9455. Ride safe, -Pat

In the cut away from the Bell Custom 500, you show the carbon fiber version (which costs substantially more) on the person modeling it. Your production crew is very good and I always enjoy your informational videos, but you shouldn't depict a different iteration of the design that can cost up to $300 more without mentioning that fact. It isn't a big deal and most of your customers outside of newbs like myself probably already know this, but it comes off as sloppy without the normal attention to detail that I've come to expect from your videos.
Just my opinion. If I were reviewing a base model Fiat 500 or a MINI Cooper, I wouldn't then roll B-roll with audio from a Fiat Abarth or John Cooper Motorworks version of the MINI without acknowledging it as it wouldn't be accurate.
