I got to jam with dave at the berklee college of music! What a blessing🤓
I'm impressed by the flute player. Most of us never get a chance to try anything like this. Well done!!
I love seeing them just jump right in!
This is all musicians heaven right here plus he is a great teacher and he is funny good job to all the students and this video
Thank you so much! 🙏
I was there! Very fun day
Dave, watching what you do as an educator is quite amazing. I'm assuming, based upon your general attitude and comments made here, that you also remember growing up and watching teachers making the idea of improvisation and even the act of performing in front of crowds needlessly intimidating. Having worked with several high schools and educators over the past few years, I see that there is a HUGE difference as to how things are done now versus how they were just 20 years ago. In my opinion, it's refreshing, and I think that we'll see more kids sticking with it after high school because of people like you! Everyone who showed up to play did a wonderful job!
Wow - thank you SO much for those kind words! Yes I do remember a little bit about learning how to improvise, but I honestly didn't get a ton of it before college.
Dave, thank you so much for this free clinic. As a mid-20s guy who started learning jazz on drums (~1year) and guitar (2 weeks!), this is very nourishing and inspiring! Hats off to these young lions who stepped on stage and did their parts in front of the audience. Your presentation is professional and humorous at the same time, it is crazy how you make it looked so easy (its not, i know!)
Also, love how you give credits to the student-performers, this is gonna be an unforgettable jam session for some of them, and I have learned and gained a lot from hearing and watching their performance in this video. Looking forward to see more of these from you if that is possible!
Thanks so much for the kind words! It’s great to see them get up there and go for it, and I know some of them were definitely nervous. Getting over that performance hurdle is huge, and they’ll only keep progressing from there!
Magnifico!!!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wow, Dave, I so enjoyed watching this and what a good job you did with managing all of that! I am a 'mature person' but would love to do this...or try! The young people were great!
Thanks so much! Yea they were awesome, and it was a ton of fun.
Fantastic Dave! I really enjoyed your master class. Such, fun and great way to teach and inspire.
