I live In southern sc I say that bc mountains is way different then the low country lol but yeah I’m definitely gonna have to put one on my 92 single cab f350 got no tent on windows and it’s red not sealed up the best yeah I bet that help me out and I like how won’t have to hook hose back up for winter just install it and dose what you want it to do that’s great
I have this on my 97 f350 it really makes a difference I live in south Texas it gets hot down here
What was the difference? Thinking about doing it on mine.
I need to recondition my A/C in the next few weeks before I move to Houston from NorCal. This was perfect timing to learn about this modification.
On a side note, I love my CPaddict bumper mod brackets. It made mounting the 2020 F450 bumper to my 96 OBS F350, as simple as could be. Gonna need another pair of the same brackets for my 96 F150 Eddie Bauer short box. I hope to come by your location and show you the truck(s) when I get down there. Thanks for the quality products.
We are so Glad to hear that. Come on by anytime we would love to meet you!
Thank you
you know, not sure why but I never thought about this. thank, one issue is your title, I believe it's 80 up to 96-98
THANK YOU!!! My AC compressor let go of all the magic smoke on my beloved '89 F250. Any modern mods to look for? I'd rather upgrade than make a repair.
You guys are LIFE SAVERS selling parts that are so hard to find
Our apologies. We’re working on making searching easier in the site. We realize it needs work. Here is a link to the product:

This seems like a good product, but a ball valve in the supply heater core line will do the same job on a budget. For nicer trucks or those that don't want to turn the valve manually, the CP part is the way to go.
YOU SHOouldnt just block that line tho.
@CT_Taylor exactly what the gadget in the video does my man.
,my bad, I thought this was the kind that bypasses the normal hose junction when hesat is not desired, as in, it would skip from the hinlet to the outlet without gouininto the core,. those exist too. Yeah I would just run a ball valve and not this and turn it closed when its warm. Thats not predferable tho, better to have a bypass flow @@jaykobb.stephens2446
so I've not had my hands too far in the HVAC system on these trucks but wouldn't this mod incapacitate your defrost setting since it also usually closes off the fresh/outside air intake? And since the heater valve shut off is T-ed into that vent door vacuum circuit the defoster would now also block off the flow of coolant through the heater as it closes the fresh air intake vent, resulting in cold air being blown on the windscreen. Just a trade off of the mod you would have to live with (I guess you could fix this by going under the hood and removing the vacuum line going to the coolant valve and plugging it in colder weather) or is there something I'm missing?
How about a kit that lets a person turn off the heater core anytime they want? Have a vacuum switch that can be installed inside the cab to do this manually. In the summer there are so many times I do not need AC but when turning on "vent" without AC still getting some heat from heater core.
You can use this kit for that, you will need to tie into a different vacuum line
@@CompletePerformance Love your products - just installed the dash LED lights and rear brake light and reverse lights. I will noodle on this - looking to be able to control that heater blockage valve from inside anytime I want to.
I see different videos on this install and some do both hoses. What's the difference in doing both hoses as to doing one?
money, block off either side stops the flow of water
I have this kit on the way for 1995 7.3 and after looking under the hood today I see I have the brittle white line you mention... it's actually broken and brittle to the point it crumbles in your fingers. It appears to run into a wire bundle running into the fire wall.
AC works fine, but did not see a black vacuum line to make the "T" connection. Any thought?
you will need to trace it into that bundle
Both run in the bundle, untape, and look within. If not look on opposite side of fire wall,. They usually run side by side. 😎👍
Will this still work if we do a cummins swap with the obs ac compressor mod you sell.
If you still retain vacuum on the Cummins yes
Once the a/c is fixed in my 96 f250 7.5L, I'm gonna a get this. Heater will still work though, right??
Sure will!
@@CompletePerformance thank you! Also need some headlamps but don't need the corner light or bottom light. These old aftermarket diffused ones work but just not a whole lot of light output. Even with the silverstar ultra halogen bulbs, it's still very dim. And I got a camping trip I'm leaving for next week on Wednesday and I'd like to get them before then but shipping sucks these day, like ups and FedEx. They take their sweet time.
Ok I see some people going under the dash and plugging in there and some where you did. Do the both do the same thing?
Not sure what they are doing under the dash
Doesn't the dash board temperature control do this same thing? I don't get any heat from it when the control is in the cold position.
No this makes the ac colder
Where is it on you store? Having a hard time finding it.
Getting it loaded shortly!
So was about to install mine and I compared this video to the printed instructions that shipped with the box.
Box instructions say to use the hose from water pump to firewall, but looks like you used the hose going to the head....did I miss something?
I was going to install mine today and noticed same thing, What did you find out. I see there was no responce to your question
On my 4.9L inline six, the supply line to the heater core comes from the head and enters the firewall on the right side. The return line exits on the left side and goes to the water pump. I'm told it's better to put a shutoff on the supply line as opposed to the return. Make sure to verify which hose is which depending on what engine you have.
It should not matter. Your heater hoses are just making a loop
@@billybradyjr6008 if you shut off the supply line, it keeps the heater coil from filling with water and radiating heat. If you shut off the return, the water will conduct enough heat to warm up eventually. It probably makes a miniscule difference but anything helps when trying to stay cool.
Heater core works by circulation. If the heated water coming in is stopped so is the extra heat, Reason the older generation would disconnect and loop outside cab or put a manual ball shut off, this product is great because cold mornings you don't have to connect manual hot water again to the core.😎👍 It's done automatically. 🎉🎉
You said Ford started doing this mod in 04, I have a 1996 F-250 OBS so will this mod help me or is it already done from the factory?
Are you serious?
You answered your question in the question.
Is your truck an 04?
No
Then why would a 96 have it from the factory if they STARTED IN 04! COME ON!
Will this work on big block as well ?
Sure will
Will this work on first gen super duties?
Yes it will
Can you link me to this product. Ive looked all over your site and cannot find it.
We’re working to make some improvements to the search on the site. Here is a direct link:

Will this item work on my 89 bronco 351w
yes
Do y’all make that for a 91?
As long as the truck has good vacuum this kit will work.
I tried to find it on the website what is the name of the part
Here is a direct link:

Would this work for 1990???
Should work fine
Very cool idea. Two questions.
1. Did you drain out any coolant before you cut the line. Didn’t hear ya say that at all. Also didn’t see any thing drip out when ya cut it.
2. Will having that in line will that or can that cause any sort of over heating or just running a little hotter on the engine temp. Just wondering if the ac helps balance the coolant temp. If not then I know what I get to g next for my 250. Love your guys products and customer service. You all are great to work with.
That line sits above the overall coolant level of the truck so typically nothing comes out of it when cut. also we have noticed no change in engine cooling.
Not sure if my lines have been replaced but I had coolant shooting out when I cut into the line, would definitely recommend at least taking the coolant cap off so it’s not as pressurized
@@CompletePerformance cool. It’s on my to do list. Figured with the Texas heat you guys will definitely see any temp changes before I do in northern Indiana. Thanks guys.
