Trailers like these are fine, because 1. The animation is really fluid, and beautiful to watch. 2. While it doesnt show any gameplay, its accurate to how the game plays out. 3. Its badass.
Technically, not everything they showed here is possible in-game. You can't melee people with a frying pan, nor can you pick up a gasoline can to throw it at enemies.

I know that not all of the level design is stellar, especially the final few stages, but for the most part its pretty good, it almost always makes good use of the games mechanics, and when it doesn’t, well it suffers for it. I still wont deny that it is underrated, every aspect of the game is amazing, especially the soundtrack. But i can see what you mean about the level design tho, its not perfect by any means.
