    Myvi is great all-rounder and undoubtedly the go-to for many especially with the new facelift now bringing more advanced stuffs from Ativa but I secretly like Ativa more. I hear many complaining that Ativa size too smol but I like the tiny dimensions, it's cute and charming haha. It's exactly what I imagined as Kembara successor.

    I think Ativa is a better choice rather than Myvi. Even though Ativa rear seat space is smaller than Myvi, for short and long distance driving, it will be comfortable enough to sit in Ativa. Ativa is sure a great choice for someone who whould like to try Perodua's new platform. I just hope that the next Myvi will be built in DNGA platform too. Then, I would choose Myvi 😂

  • @rollakid
    @rollakid Před 2 lety +22

    Feels like, from the video, we can say Ativa is better suited to go slower and shorter distance in city or suburb, dealing with uneven malaysia road. But for those who need to travel rather long distances, Myvi would be much better on the wallet. I think with so much rear legroom, Myvi deserves a better seat.

  • @OmarTan

  • @Phil58Liew
    @Phil58Liew Před 2 lety +32

    I bought both. I can say both has plus and minus. The Ativa is better put together since it is built from ground up. The MyVi got the electronics and transmission upgrades from the Ativa. Around town for parking and as a runaround the MyVi still the go to. I dislike the slowing down mid corner of the MyVi though where it pulls back more than wanted. The red accents in the interior is painful to the eye.
    Comfort wise the Ativa definitely... End of the day for their respective prices ok lah.

  • @stealthx2x
    @stealthx2x Před rokem +7

    The fact that ativa is underpowered in highway and more fuel consumption even though it's a turbocharge. Myvi gonna be easier to maintain longterm and probably have better resale value for na engine. They also didn't mention the quality of myvi interior is slightly better then ativa that have more cheaper plastic. They also didn't mention the 3cyclinder engine tremble during idle that will get worse over time. The only good thing about ativa is the height, comfort and technology. So if ur looking for higher seating position and comfortability go for ativa. Else just go myvi literally better all rounder better car for both city/highway and better fuel consumption. 🍻

    By just looking at the interior design between Myvi and Ativa, you will see the huge gap between Japanese design and Malaysian design standard. The striking red colour seat and red lining dashboard in Myvi is damn fugly and childishly kindergarten level design. I hope Perodua make changes by removing all those unnecessary striking colours in the interior, don't be like Proton (pre-Geely).

    Oddly enough I'm not a fan of both SUV's and hatchbacks. Especially the Myvi since it's a famous car here. I prefer sedans simply because I like the exterior of it more. But after seeing the new Myvi announced and watching the reviews, the Myvi just wins my heart. Simply because it's exterior styling looks sharper and sportier compared to its predecessor, and it's safety features are really good. Particularly the blind spot monitors, because the moment I saw that feature I was like "Okay I'm sold on this car. Now I want this". I just wish the infotainment system would look more modern, and the climate control would use those circular round knobs instead of plain buttons.

    If use the 1.3l and add the turbo, won't it be better, less rattling & more power?
    Compare Myvi & Ativa, i prefer the Ativa, because the interior looks & the boot space. But i prefer the 1.5l engine from myvi.

      More sensible for you to ask Daihatsu about it. Perodua just follow Rocky specs with some minor tweaks/changes.
      Could be the engine bay is built to just mount 3-cyls only.
      Toyota & Daihatsu never fit 4-cyls in this DNGA-A platform in their Raize/Rocky.
      Only DNGA-B platform in the new Xenia/Avanza/Veloz uses 4-cyls

    Ativa is in no man's land now imo. If you want a cheap and cheerful small car with many safety features, buy a myvi. If you want a bigger and more refined car with greater quality, get a brv, hrv, x50, x70, corolla cross or other larger suvs.
    Hence, Ativa is sorta like a expensive "waiting" car for young adults. You buy it and wait to sell it later in your life when you career picks up, except that it is far more expensive than other "waiting" cars like Myvi, Iris, Axia, Saga etc.
