- Here you go guys and girls, the 2022 Myvi conquers the mountain, in the wet. I actually invited Nazz Abdullah to ride shotgun, but he didn't take the bait; anyway, a single occupant means more power for the road.
This time we take the Myvi all the way to the top of the hill, and it made it without any problems.
Some driving tips for WET driving:-
1) Always take a later apex - turning in later means you give yourself more room for error as you exit the corner. It also allows you to be in a straight line on exit so you can accelerate.
2) Brake early and in a straight line as much as possible, and try to maintain a good line.
3) Cornering lines become very important when wet.
4) FWD cars tend to understeer - be careful when gunning it mid-corner - get your lines right so that you can exit in a straight line.
5) Use your brakes and braking as a means to transfer weight to the front, in addition to slowing down the car - this will give you more grip to take the turn.
6) Don't forget braking distances increase when the road is wet.
7) Watch out for standing water and water running across the road. Aquaplaning can have dire consequences.

I think this myvi has improved in terms of speed, comfort as a passenger and safety features.

In the hand of a capable driver (uncle Khong), even a Myvi can drive like a "sport" sedan that can over take a lot of cars.
Uncle straight away put rear dashcam cause last time there was a Scirocco 'feel challenged' by the 4AT Myvi. Hahaha

As usual. CVT droning sound sakit telinga. But it will increase performance and fuel efficiency for small car like this. Gearbox will maximise powerband stay at correct rpm.
Precisely. I chose the ancient 4AT as it doesn’t drone the way the CVT does.
The engine noise is noticeably louder than the Iriz. Even hafiz from paultan mentions it. Nonetheless, the cvt has improved myvi overall performance.

@@absolute_abundance lmao, i think it’s clearly written “4AT” which means that i’m actually referring to the ancient 4 Speed AT, not some fancy schmancy AT transmission like the ZF 8AT and yes, CVT is A LOTTTT better than the 4AT.
@@absolute_abundance It’s not a downgrade. This new Myvi uses D-CVT. In which the 1st gear is the true gear then it’ll switch to CVT once reached the max speed for the 1st gear. Believe it or not, this D-CVT is proven to be better than the conventional 4AT in terms acceleration.
@@absolute_abundance completely wrong. A CVT with launch gear vs a 4AT the CVT comes out on top. Maybe if we were talking about a 6 speed or more for a more powerful car you'd be right.

I'm very surprised that myvi is very good in the corners the steering is okay but not as sharp as iriz or ativa it's quite decent enough for the size of that gearbox it's a very impressive response I'm very impressed with this
Same Macpherson strut in front and torsion beam at the rear arrangement.

Wah the myvi engine is really straining
It's only 1.5 liter, of course it is working very hard.
Makes sense, but good thing is that it's always in the powerband, rather than the typical gear hunting.

Axia ni untul orang yang tidak bolih beli Myvi, tapi perlu kereta yang bolih muat 4 atau 5 orang. Axia baru ni adalah besar sikit, lebar sikit, tinggi sikit, dan jimat minyak lebih sikit.

Just buy the best tyres you can afford. The standard tyres are quite good - that was what I had on the car.

Proton Iriz active 2022 & Myvi H 2022 which one uncle prefer
when comes to performance and fuel consumption.
The Iriz handles a bit better, Myvi more fuel efficient.

Only under hard acc is it noisy. Under normal conditions it is very quiet.

They are very different. The R3 handles very well, and was built with handling in mind. Tje Myvi is made as a family car, and handles well too, but with softer suspension, it is not as planted.

Hi Sir YS Khong and fellow viewers, need some opinion on purchasing a car, I don't really know much about car. Among Myvi Facelift, Yaris, Mazda 2 and Honda City Hatchback RS which one would you consider as a great purchase (in term of driving experience, handling, safety, etc)? - not taking into consideration of costs of the car and maintenance cost purely on driving experience.

Test drive all the cars u mentioned above if possible and see how uiy feels to u . The one that " click" is the one for u

Around 1,500 rpm, very quiet. Watch my fuel consumption video.
Just bought Myvi AV.. don't like the engine sound. It feels slower too, but the steering weightage is good. Best thing is to replace OEM tyres with Michelin PS3, that improves things a bit

you need to soundproof the firewall, the engine bay and also the whole fender. internally you need to redo the whole car and the car door. +rm3k that would do the job
It's actually the engine, not the cvt that makes the noise.

Even if you drive fast at 160 the engine noise will never be as loud as in this video because you still not reach 6000rpm at 160. Ys Khong reach 6000rpm most of the time because he floored the pedal to the max. Normal people don't drive like Ys Khong so you don't have to worry about the noise. It's not that hard to figure this out.

Uncle. Wanna ask. Why when i steep on hill using D mode..there is sound like chain sound (or sound that never heard on a straight road). Sometime on lower hill also the sound will popup..is it normal?im scared if gearbox prob. Thanks
You should get your car workshop to check it out. Hard for us to diagnose with your description. Also, you have not even told us what car it is.

Sir, may I ask, why is my myvi H (same as one in the video) like went free gear when going slightly downhill road…or also when I climbing up hillroad… it just like when I push the pedal it just not accelerating…. is it normal in DCVT?
(I’m new to DCVT)
All cvts will gp to the highest ratio when not on load, so going downhill, you are advised to use a lower gear.
When going uphill, it will shift down due to the load, but the moment you lift off as you enter a corner, it will again shift up because you have released the load, and it again has to shift down as you accelerate. For hill climbing, again it is nest to use a lower gear.

Both car shared the same engine, just different car structure and design.
Trust me, Yaris far more comfortable. If you are looking for comfort just go for Yaris
Yaris is a slightly bigger car, and build quality is higher, but costs more.

Very different feeling car like night and day. Yaris feels like a proper car with proper sizing. Myvi felt like u buy a cheap miserable car
After watching this video,I had no regret taking Iriz executive a month ago.Noise in a cabin more refine,less vibration, and more importantly, the handling is more predictable.I drive my iriz to genting the sound is more subtle than this.

@Aminuddin Muhd This is a town car.We rarely exceeded those speeds.I consider myvi as a all rounder town car but for long distance especially on a highway,perodua still can make some improvements with their handling & comfort.It has so many potential but I can't imagine the price it will be if these matter get tuned up.Probably near 70k for high specs
@@oneashralph4076 i agree on the handling and comfort that the myvi is subpar compared to iriz. But in terms of engine and gearbox itself, myvi is much better compared to old tech iriz

Best is manual, hahaha. I think the cvt is better for longer run due to better fuel economy. Both the 4AT and CVT are just as loud. It's actually the engine sound, not the CVT sound.

The engine noise is the sound of motivation for study or work hard and self improvement all the time so you get better pay and in turn a better car. No doubt its still a car I will have for market runs, tight spots in city but definitely not for long distances or family.
After you read finish my comment pls turn to uncle YS Khong Mazda 6 video for the first 2 minutes introduction to know what I meant. >_
