That audience sucked. They arent used to a comedian having a calm delivery. It's like they have to have the joke yelled at them so they know to laugh
That's just the way Stephen's show is miced and mixed, you'll notice they audience reactions always sound further away than typical live shows, even when there's a "loud" reaction it sounds far or quieter than normal.

True. Rob said he was worried bringing in DeVito would “ruin” the chemistry they had. It didn’t necessarily effect the chemistry, but it had a huge impact on the dynamic of the show. And it was a good change.

I guarantee you that Colbert sees Always Sunny as low-brow humor. Not a doubt in my mind. And to keep it real, a guy like Colbert probably genuinely has much better things to do than plop down on the couch and binge Always Sunny.

I could listen to him (the real Rob) talk for hours and would love to....gonna go find some more interviews
I was touched by the gesture of that episode. It was apparently RM's love letter to his moms, brothers and LGBT friends, but it made no sense in terms of the show. Mac would never do anything CLOSE to that. It struck me as kind of self-indulgent and showboaty.
@@MikeM-uy6qp I do agree, or at least think I do based on my understanding....it definitely seems like as the show continues on their true personalities are becoming those of the characters and, although I'm very much a lefty and agree with most of their opinions, it doesn't feel true to the show or at least what the show was/what made it great.
I know it's one of the two shows that makes Hulu worth it to me and I don't watch must beyond season 8 or 9 and even those aren't entirely enjoyable to me. Still one of the greats tv-wise!

I did not know about Rob's background. The season finale where he did the dance routine coming out to his dad in prison was surprisingly touching and got me choked up even though I'm straight. Love watching his interviews so much
10:48 The piano is playing the Green Hill Zone theme from Sonic at the end lol
Always Sunny is one of the greatest shows that has or will ever exist. I hope it runs for 20 more seasons. Rob and Glenn and Charlie and Kaitlin and Danny and Hornsby are geniuses and never have gotten the props they deserve.
John's the best. Rob talks about his show about a game company, then he plays him off to the Green Hill Zone Theme.
was looking to see if anyone spotted that
Ben Flatley same here it was the only reason I scrolled down to the comments...lol
@@BennyFlaps def spotted it. Not the first time John's thrown in that Green Hill Zone either
@@Nick930 He's even introduced someone to the Final Fantasy Prelude once. Can't remember who though.
This show is a breathe of fresh air at a time like this
Absolutely LOVE that Sonic cover by the band in the outro!
They close with green hill zone
They've done this quite a few times now. I legit think Jon Batiste is just a fan of Sonic haha
It’s on his album: Hollywood Africans.
I KNEW I recognized it from somewhere! Thank you!
Here is a short video about with Jon Batiste playing and talking about video game music czcams.com/video/3COsHCsEf7I/video.html
So I'm not losing my mind, thanks :)
This guy is an intellectual's - with a sense of humor - intellectual. I greatly respect and admire him; you can tell he has an intelligent, creative, methodical, and prolific mind. No wonder the audience was quiet; you listen when someone like him speaks. Too bad it seemed like they didn't get him though.
That's Colbert for ya. He's an awful talk show host.
Conan would have made this as great as it should have been
Yeh very underated. Dunno why colbert had such a distain
@@JacaboBlanco Colbert's problem is he spent over a decade interviewing people behind a satirical lens in the Colbert Report and Daily Show. He was able to say things he wouldn't normally feel like saying to guests because it was a satire and he was playing a character. That skill doesn't always translate to genuine interviews and he comes off kinda boring because of it.
I didn't expect his run on The Late Show to be just like Colbert Report but I was hoping he'd still have some of that comedy/journalistic edge but it's mostly gone from what I've seen.
FYI, the outro music is Green Hill Zone from Sonic 1. It way be a “duh” moment but I spent 20 minutes trying to remember the damn thing.
Colbert cut him off before he could explain that they ended up loving DeVito on the show.
Yep. That story wasn't finished.
The length I go through to see any member of “Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia” I’ll even watch Stephen Colbert
Stephen Colbert missing all the jokes Rob throwing out at him
Beautifully put, Rob is my daddy 4ever
I absolutely loved that the outro music was Green Hill Zone from Sonic The Hedgehog. Classy.
Why is no one commenting on how DEATHLY quiet the audience is
richie galvan for real....this was so cringy
They're in awe of Rob. That's the hope anyway. I know I would be. The man's a comedic genius.
@@vSupermanv That's just the way Stephen's show is miced and mixed, you'll notice they audience reactions always sound further away than typical live shows, even when there's a "loud" reaction it sounds far or quieter than normal. Our ears are also more used to fake applause than you'd think. I think Stephen just tries to keep it more organic and natural, they could easily fix it by micing it differently but I guess they don't care lol.
Because the interview was a different tone to usual...that's all.
Sara Cagle lol it’s weird cause the audience acts the same way to all the sunny cast I’ve noticed. Maybe they’re not meant for the mainstream
I heard the whole cast had agreed to get fat over a season break, then came back and Rob was the only one who followed through
No, only Rob agreed to do it he wanted everyone to do it
He asked the rest of the cast and they said noooooooo thank you sir.
Hey got fat when his wife was pregnant. It's commonly known as "sympathy baby weight"
To create their avatars
@@pitchfolkmedia916 No, it was for a 'bit' he wanted to do on "Sunny".
Rob's big smile always make big smile, love this guy
One of the smartest, &
most creative/ influential screen writers of all time! This is worth watching!
The sonic theme at the end. Thought we wouldn’t notice
They want you to notice because Sonic is releasing in theatres soon...
@@SSHGL I highly doubt that. I think John Baptist just really likes video games. He's played video game themes before.
Disappointed in colbert. He didn't seem interested
Colbert is nearly 60, I'm not surprised, IASIP audience is pretty young
i'm going to take this rare negative comment as an opportunity to say this: as a huuuuge fan of the colbert report, colbert comes off as a humungous douche on this show. every interview it feels like hes worried the guest is going to get more laughs than him or something, idk, it's just so off.
Even prior to his repeat Trump jokes, his interviews were these blank staring reactions.
@@player6769 yes its a rare negative comment because I'm a fan of Colbert too. That's why I was kinda disappointed because I'm a fan of IASIP as well and he didn't seem interested.
Colbert just kinda sucks nowadays.
Was not expecting green hill zone to be the outro song
Rob "People tend to look less better as they age"
Currently looks the best he ever has.
