@@user-qb7bs7cy1m that's a fair point as the dunes are full of it. When i actually needed to stock up i packed my prawn and went there with my cyclops in my second playthrough
"He clipped into the floor" truly a subnautica moment, by far the biggest scare I ever got in this game was being in the enforcement island caves, and a reaper showed up through the walls, now that truly made me shit myself
Ah yes... The Seamoth. Jump into the Seamoth to go outside and fix the hull... Right next to the dive hatch. The Seamoth, which makes noise as well and attracts the Reaper. This is a plan without downsides and- OH GOD IT'S GRABBED THE SEAMOTH AND IT'S SHAKING IT LIKE A CHEW TOY! DOWN! DOWN FIDO! BAD REAPER! NO PEEPER FOR YOU!

I love my seamoth also. I've yet to use the prawn suit very much in my playthrus. I've found the best way to deal with reapers etc is to go out intentionally to kill them. Like side quests. I've found that in areas I've "cleared" of predator Leviathans (not the void obv) that they remain dead. They are finite 🤷. Regarding the engine efficiency module, I feel like I always find one before I even build the Cyclops.. I don’t remember where though. Maybe inside the Aurora.
I once thought that Silent Running makes you 100% undetectable. I got cocky and deliberately bumped a Reaper. I then spent hours retrieving all my resources and makings from the sub wreck now laying on the seabed
I approached the sea emperor in my cyclops and apparently his fire breath can shoot right through the hull of the cyclops and break your stuff. Lost like a dozen storage containers full of stuff.
Thank you for the sound bubble info! I had no idea! One way to get much more power in your cyclops is to replace the standard powercells by ion powercells. Although, by the time you get enough ion cubes to craft six powercells for your cyclops, you are probably deep enough in the late game that you don't really need them anymore. So it's really just a solution for when you have done everything but escaping the planet and just want to mess around.
Exactly. My cyclops has it as well, but like you said, it's late game only. By that time i can just park it next to a thermal vent to charge it as well.
Thanks dude, this was an incredibly useful visual demonstration. I've been hoarding resources in my shallow base for 85 hours and it's time to actaully go venture out and play this game for real.
I've heard that the Leviathan didn't attack when the engine was turned off, but I didn't believe it. Now, seeing the physical sound bubble and how the cyclops interacts with the Leviathan, this made me a LOT less scared of the leviathans. Does this work with the Seadragon and the ghost Leviathan too?
how to escape anything except ur mother with dads belt: deploy decoy full speed until engine heating after like 5 sec after deploying first decoy deploy the second decoy (fabricator to make module next to engine left) then drive to safety (check cams if safe if not deploy another and zoom outta there) if u dont have decoys just exit the cyclops stand on top of it until he goes away (note: he can see u so just stay away) if ur not inside ur cyclops he will NOT ATTACK IT
You can actually turn the engine off as that will prevent any attacks as well. Decoys can indeed work really well if you actually get something after you and you have to move. If you're actually fine where u are i think it's better to tank the hit or shield it off
Thanks for that. Good info delivered concisely. A lot of 'CZcamsrs' think that they get paid by the word so ramble on for ages. I'm off to your chanel now to see what other gems you have to offer. 👍🏼😁
Thank you! That means a lot! Im affraid there is not that much to offer right now, since i took a big recording break😅 though i have videos planned for finding every fragment in the game with multiple locations since spawns are random
@@variacraft8237 Are spawns of fragments really random? Because I seem to find them in the same spots on every playthrough I've done. Case in point, during my most recent playthrough yesterday, I needed the Drill Arm for the Prawn Suit and went to the usual location I tend to find them, in and around the wreck in the entrance to the South West Blood Kelp forest. And low-and-behold, there they were...again.
8:13. So… two things. 1. Yes, the cyclops shield generator does take up A LOT of power (that’s why I try to avoid using it). 2: If you have the cyclops thermal generator module. Simply park it over a thermal vent and watch your cyclops power RISE. (Or, you know, just use a pop up base. The choice is yours).
Pop up bases are definitely a life saver, yes. Though especially small hits from ampeels and crabsquid might be worth tanking one as it will regen by itself and not need any manual repairs
Thanks for the compliment! Though have seen many people who already made a guide to that and i think its more of a preference thing rather than a single way to do it.
Glad to hear you like my desighn! Actually my most recent video has a full tour around my cyclops, so feel free to check out the channel😁 it's called cyclops odyssey and the tour can be found using the video chapters
It's quite practical indeed especially compared to the shield. Just taking a hit can also work really well though, as you are not limited to the amount of decoys and fixing it is quite easy
Yes, all the things in this video works for every threat in the game. Watch your sound bubble, go silent running and shut the engine off when he gets too close or if you get hit.
What if the reaper does damage and you have to repair. Is it possible if you put the shield on you could swim out and repair without the reaper being able to hit you?
The shield is probably cyclops specific. And even if it worked the power drain is still disgusting. Its better shut the engine down and wait for mr reaper to leave so you can repair right after. There is no need to hurry when it comes to reparing 1 hole as the small leak wont fill up the cyclops at all thanks to the draining system
They come in so late in the game, they're hardly worth it except in your Seamoth, Prawnsuit, and Seaglide for running around for resources to escape the planet. By the time you get them, you likely have an extra set of powercells and the thermal charger for the Cyclops and they almost become moot. Really wish they would've introduced them, and a good source for Ion Cubes, right at the Alien Research Facility already.
I actually agree with that especially if you have the shield generator as well. I have never used a single decoy in my entire career lol. But of course everyone can use whatever they prefer.
@@variacraft8237 I once watched a blind playthrough where someone hand deployed a creature decoy. Knowing how the creature AI works this is kinda funny. Even if the creature decoy worked tbh I wouldn't have room for the upgrades between depth, shield, thermal charge efficiency fire suppression and sonar.
Another option is.........rrrrrraaaaaammmmmiiiiiiiinnnnnnggggggg ssssssssppppppeeeeedddddddd!!!!! Many animals in subnautica have the skin of a jelly fish so slamming into something hard enough will cause considerable damage.
Never actually tried that, though i do know the cyclops will take dmg from ramming as well, even though its shield health will absorb the first few hits.
@@variacraft8237 I have used it many times and its amazing how effective it can be. In a way you may have already done it but not realized it. The smaller fish when you hit them die pretty quickly. Even much larger fish are quite vulnerable if something hits them with repeat attack. The sea moth if you upgrade the armor enough can be used like a canon ball to smash into everything that is a threat. The trick to ramming leviathans is getting in the hit box but not close enough to where they trigger the mouth attack. Similar to attacking with the prawn suit. You can also slam into them from behind. I use a similar strategy with the sea truck in below zero to take out anything that is an annoyance to me. Hit the gas hard and slam into it like train with a cow in the way. Typically the damage is not that bad and even leviathans will run away from you pretty quick if you hit them hard enough.
that's actually quite interesting except for one thing. I don't hurt creatures in subnautica cuz they're just too beautiful. But yes i have in fact killed a load of small fish this way including one in this video.
