AMERICAN REACTS TO RALLY CAR | VERY COOL!

  • This is a very cool form of auto sport. The narrow roads coupled with some of the many types of surfaces (not to mention the drifting) made this one really exciting to watch. Don't know too much about the sport so would learn to love more! PS- the fans are crazy standing around those corners too!
As always- appreciate the support and like, comment, and give me some suggestions on what I should react to next!

WRC is really something special. Some of the crashes they'll still get the car home from too. If it still moves under it's own power, they just keep going. Years ago I remember Tommi Makinen bringing his beaten up Lancer over a stage finish line after he'd rolled it with rear off side wheel on just the rim and front near side missing altogether and he still managed to somehow stay in the top 10.
Colin McRae is another driver to look up. The man is a legend who had the saying "When in doubt, flat out". At the 2006 X-Games event he rolled the car coming off a jump, downshifted while it was on it's roof and gave it the beans when it landed back on it's wheels. He still came 2nd😂
    RIP Colin McRae

Rally car is based on road version, even if many modifications are made.
A "Race" is called a rally (e.g. Rally Finland), and had many "stages" during it. A "stages" is a time trial race, most of the time, from pt A. to pt B. Each fex minutes a car start, so it can happens that a car overtake an other one. And, because it's on public road (obviously closed for the day), everyone can go spectate, that's why they are so closed to the road (and because they are crazy too).
At the end of the Rally, the drive who do every stages with the less times win it.
There's always 2 peoples in the carn the driver and the copilot, which indicate turn/bump and other danger on the road (even if of course the driver know perfectly the road). The craziest thing in Rally is the driver, who can be resumed by "If when a press throttle my car go forwards, then i race as fast as possible !". Sometimes we can see a car without one tyres, with a suspension down or with the hoodie up on the screenshield, still racing.

@@tylertheamerican1858 As for finnish guy, just take your daily driver and try to put it through nearest twisty dirt road as fast as you can. Then get your hands on a small 4wd car and try the same and see how much faster that was. Then put in some suspension kits, and remember these guys drive small purpose-built all-round rockets.

There are lots of public roads like this in Europe. Most rally drivers are European. It's a very fast and very exciting motorsport. Drivers are timed over set courses and on event days the roads are closed.
Spectators often stand too close to the road, so unsurprisingly there have been casualties both inside and outside of the cars in some races. The cars are standard road cars, covered in sponsors and modified by engineers to boost the performance. They're made incredibly safe with rollcages etc to protect against the variety of high speed crashes that will probably happen.

Rally cars are essentially production vehicles and must be taxed, MOT'd (a legally required annual safety inspection) and insured like any other car in Europe. Some modifications are allowed but they must remain street legal in order to participate and cannot deviate too far in mechanical respects from the production model that anyone can buy. Some manufacturers build cars specially designed for rallying but these must still be offered to the general public to meet the production vehicle requirement. One of the most successful rally cars has been the Renault Clio Williams of which only around 5,000 were produced for sale on the open market. The standard version, simply the Renault Clio, has sold around 13 million! This success is due in no small part to the fame of the rally version - the advertising value being why manufacturers get involved. Races are usually held in stages over fixed point to point courses, usually involving both on-road and off-road driving, with vehicles released a few minutes apart and racing against the clock. Cars can meet on the course but this is relatively unusual unless one is somehow held up. Cars each have a driver and navigator. The navigator has a detailed description of the course and will constantly keep the driver informed of what is coming - e.g. "left 6 long tightening to 3, followed by 2 right short, don't cut" or in other words a long bend to the left, gentle at first (6) but getting more acute (3), quickly followed by a sharp right (2 - not quite a hairpin) with some obstacle on the inside (so don't try to cut the corner).

@@dennishendrikx3228 you know ralliyng is juste make the fastest time, but in formula 1 and also in other motorsport on track you need to race in long time like 1 hour (i dont put endurance in). And me when i play in gran turismo i try to be the fastest every laps to win but i can't do a clean lap every time. And also my pace is not very strong. but the is not very good for the tyre and the fuel to try fastest lap every time. But a pro driver can do that, a good pace good management and also clean laps everytime . And the formula 1 driver are the top of the top to manage all of that in a race.
And i didn't mentioned the fact they also raced: overtake, defence, the start.
Have you think also to the g-force they faced, the acceleration, the bracking, the turn, this is so extrem.

The funniest is when you speak of G-forces, like rally drivers don't feel those. Do you even see them flying around corners, of flying 4 wheels in the air? How they fly into a ditch, flip the car about 10 times? When I played Colin McRae on Playstation... What a great argument. You have say so much, but little speaking facts. Just the amount of rally drivers that died during races, you really think Hamilton will show them how it's done?

Rally cars are production cars that are broken down into molecules and then the entire bodywork is reinforced in weak places, such as the wheel arches, the floor, attachment points for the roll cage and for the front and rear. Stronger axles, brakes, struts, shock absorbers etc. Engine 1.6 16v turbo approx. 300 hp (WRC2) and in the new WRC1 400 hp + electric motor approx. 100 hp gives approx. 500+ hp. The gearbox is the same type as WRC2 5vxl. 4wd with adjustable diffs. The body is equipped with a lot of downforce such as spoilers and wing and fender flares etc. The undercarriage is completely covered behind the front carriage where there is a protective plate for the engine compartment. 2-seater of course for drivers and map readers, who read special notes for the road. A map reader sometimes needs to read about 2.5 words per second on slanted special sections. "First you rally, then you rally again" 😜🤘

In other words, you drive all year round in different parts of the world and climates. Check out WRC or ERC. Or different countries in Europe that have local competitions. Finland and Sweden are no 1 in lokal competitions on gravel, rest of Europe most tarmac, there is a lot on you-tube.

Even in the local events I compete in, we need full in-date motorsport seats, suits, shoes, gloves, HANS devises and helmets :)

And you have to drive to the next stage on public roads with a road legal car meaning all tires have to be inflated. The rules were not soo strict some 10 - 15 years ago where u could drive on 3 wheels one dude hanging out the window balancing the car, but not these days. The same driver already got a suspended race ban once when he rode on a deflated tire and had he done it again this ban would have taken effect.
