Unexpected Idaho

Our quick weekend visit to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho was NOT what we were expecting. Our notions of visiting a wilderness lodge was completely misguided. What we found instead was a beautiful lake adorned with every luxury we could imagine. Most surprising was the quality of the food, led by a couple of wonderful dinners at "Candle in the Woods" located in nearby Athol. It's a great place for a luxurious weekend getaway!

My brother suggested we meet there so we went to do a mini family reunion. It was surprisingly easy to fly into Spokane and take the short drive to Coeur d'Alene. A very easy long weekend. The Candle in the Woods was a real find for us.
