I just found this footage by chance, I was there with my ex, she wasn't a football fan, she was in floods of tears at the end, the noise, the passion, it was truly electric , no one there will ever forget that night!
yep
Loved Goodison park back in the 80s when football and packed terraces thrilled me to bits👊From a Blades fan
nights like this makes you realise how special this club is and that is all ive got to say about that
Best game I've been to I was with my dad who i buried today rip dad
Obs we dont know each other mate but lost my dad 2 years today and like you went that game.best ever game at goodison EVER.thats why im up at daft o clock reminiscing.stay strong pal he will always be with ya.
@@robertdunphy8036 thanks mate come on you blues
@@thesoftparade5583 i know weve been here many times but i honestly think we can get back to great times with carlo.
Sorry to hear that lad but hope your ok ! Up the toffees
@@liambyrne4831 nice one
So lucky Graeme. I remember the era well but was not at the game. Many say it was the noisiest game ever played on Merseyside...I bet it was a marvellous experience.
Probably was😂😂
these were great times
The Rupert Murdoch money & now the Arab money has completely sucked the heart & soul out of football. Sadly I fear it can never recover now. As a Londoner living in Liverpool at the time this was a phenomenal effort by Everton & sadly I doubt this magic will ever be seen again
A wonderful time in Everton's history when we had a fabulous team, I remember it well. Hope we can bring good times back at the new stadium. COYB
I was there with my departed Dad. One of the best nights in my life.
Thanks for posting these lad. I was 15 ,what a year!! Everything goes full circle ,we`ll get these days back.
not aging well
Yes we will one day! 😀
Greatest club in the world.
I was 24 at the time, went straight from work with a few blues all working for wimpys on lodge lane ,went in the park end when the 3 Rd went in one of the lads who was 20 stone belly flopped into the crowd off the back bar against the wall, pandemonium!! Fuckin boss days...
The kids behind those fences seems like another world nowadays….. 🙂
We will never see night's like this again under the current board
Great Comp what should never have been Scrapped we won it in 1970 and is that Martin Tyler Commentating jesus how long as he been at it now MCFC
Totally agree. The Cup Winners Cup was a bigger and better comp than the the UEFA Cup...where you won nothing to get in.
The Europa League is completely soulless in comparison to this
I know this is the worst kind of comment - but there will never be crowds like that again
We could have been European champions in the years afterwards
Yes, Everton would have had a serious chance of winning the European Cup in '86, this was a fantastic team
Fancy seeing you here
Liverpool planned the ban to prevent y'all from winning
@@doncarloancelotti2256 UEFA planned the ban. Look into it
@@doncarloancelotti2256go and sort out another panorama special, victim. Utter filth.
This was a cracking Everton team & performance, all the money in football has completely ruined it now & sadly I don’t think it will ever recover. A great time to be a football fan in Liverpool
The greatest game ever staged at our beloved Goodison Park.
As a great scouser once said. Back then long time ago when we were fab.

Thirty years since, plus Bradford and Heysel. Time flies...
Everton's greatest night ever 1985
Was there that night with my brother( a toffee). Absolutely brilliant performance. By the way I'm a Leeds supporter.
Hope glory days come back for U !! Proper club !!
One of the greatest nights at goodison park o how I wish for those days again but we ever see the likes of this night ever again
You could do now under ancelloti
Not one of...the greatest night no question
Robert Dunphy yeah totally agree
Best night of my life. shame i was in the park end and not the Gladys street
Magnificent team .simple as that really and I am a liverpool fan 👌
Danke Everton, für diesen wundervollen Abend !!!
Kein Bayer Fan?
Mickael, Bayern Mumich have achieved everything in Europe for over 50 years.
But that night they walked into a storm of passion and i listened to it on my Radio !! Good Everton team that was.
1:12 look at the fences though :\
One of my favourite seasons. Everton back in business, Chelsea Newcastle an weds promoted , spurs an arsenal both good an we had a good season an won the cup
Anyone remember the bayern wen sub gettin his hair pulled by the everton fans in the paddock which is now the family enclosure
There was never any doubt that we'd be denied in Rotterdam! COYB.
Lads this is THE one. Us bayern and juventus [ with platini and boniek] were the best teams in europe at the time We beat Bayern Were we better than Juventus? We will never know but as alot of everton fans know wee wud have done the treble but had to play united in cup final three days after a cup winners cup victory on the wensday. Shame but great days n e way :-]
remember the deathly silence when the Germans scored ha ha. good times
@K1TOMK1 Haha it’s before my time as well. I wish I was around then to have seen that team :(
The time when we beat the bigger reds!
Everton were fantastic between 1984 and 1987 think they would have won the European Cup although I think Liverpool might have won it a couple more times as well
A VERY SPECIAL NIGHT.
I was there. Boss.
اي والله اني من زمان
Glory days for everton good team!!!
Can anybody tell me the name of the speaker at the beginning? I remember his voice from FIFA 2002. :D Great times, the Rizla advertising made me smile. Goodison Park was a lovely stadium and still is today. Hope they won't build a new one. Greetings from Germany
John Motson.
@@calmster Thank you. I asked because he's widely unknown here, but somehow I like his voice.
brilliant
Was Martin Tyler commentating this game?
Yes

Still grates. I was there with my dad that night- his best night at Goodison - nearly ten years since he passed. If we had Europe we would have kept Gray regardless of signing the patron saint of economic migrants. Instead we lose our greatest manager and best players. Says it all when we couldnt compete with Scottish teams because of the ban. Should have sued the victims and demanded re entry into Europe once the ban was lifted. 4 of the 5 seasons we would have qualified.
There would never have been ferguson and man u. It would've been kendal and evertons dynasty for 20 yrs.
@@seamustherotty9373 Rofl, I think not lad.
@shugaroony who were better than us at that time? Man u? Liverpool? Who?
💥🔥
Hope so
I was there !!!
I remember Everton fans moaning how Stoke's long throw was anti football etc.
Soon mate, very soon.
u know that! still a toffee for life :-]
Looks like Everton-Liverpool!
best English side ever, this team would of dominated for years only for the fucking ban
I know. It still massively grates that the murderers across the park spoilt everything.
"best English side ever" - lad you weren't even the greatest team on Merseyside.
Forza Toffies💙
Heeeey rommenigge,,, 😭😨😡
We were the best team in Europe at the time thanks Liverpool for Heysel Cheers from all English clubs who were banned !
Oh dear 😢😢😢😢😢
Terry Curran should have played, but he cut his nose off to spite his face when he refused to travel to Munich in the previous leg after a training ground bust up. TC was an awesome player though he would have given ever more entertainment that night had he played
Relegated? 2022 everton's worst...
🤣🤣
A VERY SPECIAL NIGHT.
