On the farm there is a 3 acre lake that was built in 1977, my grandfather stocked it with Florida bass and copper nose bream, I had a study done on the lake 5 years ago and the pond management guy told me that anything 15 inches and under should be chunked off the dam, I said you are crazy as heck I love to fillet and eat bass, plus 2 to 300 lb of bream need to be caught a year, they are so big I fillet them like crappy.. enjoyed video as always, you and Jay rock when it comes to fishing

I’ve definitely had some tough days on the water. It’s been a long time though since I’ve completely skunked. I think that’s due to being flexible and switching to a different species of fish if the one I originally am targeting is being difficult haha!

Cole & Jay, I have really been enjoying your channel. We actually have a lot in common, herps, frogging & fishing.
First video I’ve seen you keep largemouth bass, they fry up nicely as long as they’re not too big, love the 1 1/2 lb range ones.
As others have mentioned definitely consider eating longnose & alligator gar, both are really good (garfish balls with a roux over rice, yes indeed.)
In my experience the longnose gar are best.
Anyway, you two really have a fantastic channel!
You do a really good job solo but the two of you together are golden. 👍🐝

My buddies and I took our annual trip there 2 weeks ago and spent the week. Definitely letting a lot of water out and the lake was dropping about a foot a day. We had a great time and everyone took fish home 🙂

Glad you’re enjoying the channel. The only fish we don’t really like to eat is freshwater drum haha. We do a lot of catch and release bass fishing as well, but definitely have no problem keeping some!

I've been up there camping/turkey hunting the last few weekends. Man it has been messed up all spring as far as to much water. But you got a mess. I found some crappie about 200 yrds from where you were at. They were in that little he pocket. Good video. I love bass fillets. Hard to beat. Good video.
It’s crazy how much the water has fluctuated. I got on the crappie good there a few days ago. That video will be up soon! You get any turkeys? My dad shot one opening day. I wasn’t able to get out there this year

WOW must be NO length limit on bass where you are. Iowa most lakes at least 15 + inches to keep. Yes those are good eating bass.
In Arkansas there is no length limit on Kentucky Spots but there is a 13” limit on keeper largemouth

Cole if that's one of your favorite lures I'll drop on you what Rick Clunn said . If your catching fish with a lure you like buy a dozen of them so if you lose it you have more. Just like tournament fishing you know if your doing go good and only have a few your in trouble if you run out. Buy a few more and be covered💯💯💯💯💯💯💯👍🏾

Yeah I think Bass taste great if Cooke the right way not too many fisherman keep bass like it's illegal to keep them they are more plentiful than any fish in the water you make a good example on all the fish you catch clean and cook great video man keep them up

I like Gar, I eat those bad boys I bake them with taco seasoning. They take a little work to get to the meat, but once you do they have some nice boneless strips in them.

Hey Cole I'm enjoying the video and wanted to ask you if there is a gar that is reddish brown and dark color mixed ⁉️ I was running the river in my boat and as I came around the corner in time to see the fish surface and dive down . I have never seen one like it especially the colors ⁉️😍 It was pretty and my first time to see such 🙂
How do you pick what colors to use? I have been getting the super pack and have alot of lure and plastic and don't know what I am doing, new to bass fishing but want to get good at it
If I think bass are feeding on baitfish. I use lures and colors that mimic that. White/silver. When the water is dirty I use dark colors like black/blue. If they seem to be feeding on the bottom on crawfish I use more green pumpkin colors!

Yes, like Paul said, get a helmet ⛑️. A simple bike ride could turn into so much more. A couple months ago, my son fell off his bike and broke his arm and had to have surgery . Good thing for the helmet that it could of been a lot worse. Please protect yourself.

#3 Left brake is always the front brake and dangerous for slippery downhill use. Put your gear in your left hand and use rear R hand brake. Unless you installed them wrong lol
