Thank God for CZcams. I have 12 years flatbed experience but no moffett experience.
Watching this video gave me a good idea of how one works. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Patience of a Saint, wish all instructors had the patience you have, teach and learn at same time, very informative without giving him direct orders, e.g you're saying what he needs to do without demanding and letting him also figure it out,
Baby steps, he'll be a pro by the time we
Know it. You make a good instructor.
LOL
He's got a a good teacher!
Great video, thank you. We just received our truck and moffet yesterday and this video is exactly what i was hoping for.
Good training! I find it easier to not extend forks out when picking up a load. I have mine all the way in and then I press forward to get underneath the product. Also, if you are starting out operating a Moffett expect to have some product fall off (especially 20 foot flooring boards) accidents will happen, learn from them. Be Patient! Do not let cars or other trucks make you 'rush'
The trick is to be safe. Also efficient moving and using levers at the same time. He will get it once hes comfortable and not nervous..lol great job
I feel for you man, teaching newbies is so stressful especially when you're on the property of a third party without damaging it.
It's a shame you can't have him sit on the Moffitt while you operate it he might get more of an insight without all the stress...
Great job respect from the UK 🇬🇧👍😎.
🙋🏾♀️ Present!
Good evening from here! Watching whilst having my dinner. 😊
Thanks for being such a good teacher.
I wish my trainer was this good... I have cracked my head so many times when I was learning
Your a patient teacher. Good job. That man is lucky
Excellent video! Thank you.
This is an excellent training video.
*The early bird gets the worm!*
I’m considering a position that uses moffetts . Big difference between this and standard or reach lifts. Useful video.
He did a nice job. He will get it figured out pretty quick.
I've learnt a lot ..thanks teacher
i have 2 years in forklift experience and it always hurt, when You see some new guy doing stuff slow and not in correct way :P For everyone is better to have skilled forklift operator, but sometimes You have to get "New guy" ready :D
Thank you. That was a really informative video.
Bro i appreciate what u do so much ! U sir r my inspiration. Thank you and God bless.
❤️❤️💪🏾💪🏾
Hell yeah back at it again 🙌🏼
awesome video bro i almost start my training in a moffett and this video is crucial to see what you gonna deal with thanks so much.
Excellent trainer. Peterson is gonna "Muff some shit up
Gotta love it man, missed these types of videos 🙌🏼
❤️❤️💪🏾💪🏾
Man damn good trainer 👍👍
He got all the yeps 😂 save some yeps for us bro.
You're a great instructor.
I work 4 Steven's transport, this guy is a good trainer 👌
Good training, driver!
The biggest learning curve when I was learning to drive a piggyback lift was getting use to the directional pedal. These lifts are sketchy as they are don’t know why they decided to reinvent the basic control scheme that every vehicle shares.
Same as any forklift except the parking level
Perfect teacher. Wish we could duplicate you
Love this video. We have HD and Lowes contracts.
Good training
Good video, very patient trainer. Hard to find patient trainers these days. That sit up joke tho, "Mind ya Buisness" 😂
LOL I give him the best backwards Moffett driver 1st place
good video .
Wow I really want to learn
You are a nice person
I'm actually starting next Tuesday so I'm watching as much as I can trying to get familiar watching these videos
Good luck... Where abouts
In Minnesota.
So I wanted to say since I have watched alot of the videos you put out its helped alot I finished my first week on my own and went pretty good granted it's slower with this time of year which is good, im curious what kind of tool are you using to crank up the straps so fast, I need something like that

Cool 👍🏽
Yep!!!
Always remember, you do not drag the back of the forks at all on less you want to pay out of your paycheck for new forks
Not bad, I'd think if you've driven forklifts before it'd be much easier. Good Job
Great job, but make sure you guys remember that when there is no load on the forks the mast is forward, and with a load, the mast should be retracted. It is super tippy when you have the mast back and no load on the forks. The center of gravity is too close to the rear wheel with the mast back and no load on the forks.
That was a good Mike you need a good lunch today
Just a share comments. I drive for a lumber company, and we have a Moffett just like this one. I recognize the buttons on the side there (the one where he pushed to lower it). (My moffett doesn't have both buttons, but one of the others do) If I remember correctly (last time I used it), if he would have pushed the button on the right while holding the up button on the left, it would have raised the moffett up without having to get on the moffett and starting it to release the chains.
2nd part: I'm impressed with Peterson (?). From the start he used the throttle. I've trained quite a few guys on the Moffett, and almost every one of them I have to keep telling them to give it some throttle. No matter what they are doing, they want to do it at an idle's pace.
3rd part: I heard Home Depot doesn't really get off the pavement. We do. I know first hand about the stabilizers sinking into the ground. Although I hadn't been thrown out of a moffett yet, we did have one driver bust his head on the cage, which required stitches. BUT, he didn't use his stabilizers. Typically, whenever I train someone, I tell them at least until they get fully used to the moffett, ALWAYS use the stabilizers no matter what size bundle they are picking up or putting down. This way there would be a less of a chance of them falling forward.
4th part: Bringing the load down while moving. Yup, been there, done that. Full bundle of 2x12x16 in the middle of a road. That was a big mess to pick up, by hand. A driver I was training did that while I was in a porto pottie. Dropped a full bundle of 2x4' which sounded like just outside the door. I thought that I was trapped in there. Not a fun feeling at the time. :)
5th part: I always use the "push" "pull" theory. Push yourself up, push yourself out, pull yourself down, pull yourself in. Same goes for the back (tilt). That was the easy for me to remember it, and it seemed to help people get the idea. But I like the "don't stop until it stops you".
Final part: Great video. Peterson did a great job considering his first time. Great training video. I've been doing this for 12 years, and wanted to see if there is something new I can learn. Sadly, I know all this, but still really enjoyed the video. Great job.

@@SaffordDelivery I really don't do Instagram, though I do have an account. Going by your idea, I just bought a head cam on Amazon, and starting Monday I'm going to see if I can take some decent videos. The one I bought claims something about "2-Axis Gimbal Stablizer" (??), so hopefully it'll be steady. I'm sure you know first hand how bumpy driving a moffitt can get.
@@GratefulTexan whats the camera name?
Sometimes one of my moffett wheels stick out the side of where they suppose to be after you Mount it , and suggestions ?
You should definitely tell him all the basics like you did before he gets in and then correct him because it can be confusing
This training must be earlier on...he seems better than this now...great instructions but I would freak out...a good teacher encourages, has patience and makes one think for himself, all the while not ruining the expensive equipment...you do that Mike 😀...by the end of the video I stopped freakin out...well done Mike and Peterson!!!
I agree this has to be from a while back
I love your CZcams channel. I was in training last month and this week I started by my own . Can you make videos of what yo do in different job sites. For example, how do you grab the pallet’s, what to do in tight spaces etc. thanks
Keep watching
I just started a new career. Driving truck with a Moffett. I have never operated a Moffett before. Lots of rear steer forklift and telehandler. Good training video. Are they as unstable as they look?
Depends on the load and the driver
I believe that man will make a hand
Most of the time the floor and back (telescope back to machine) will work. Unless you are doing sandstone blocks, then they may fall off the forks
good morning Mike...
Good morning paul
Can you do a video on the controls
INSTRUCTOR: JUMP DOWN.
TRAINEE: JUMPS DOWN
INSTRCTOR: DON'T JUMP DOWN, YOU'LL BREAK YOUR ANKLES
CAN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP......

I didn't realize that there was a power down on the forks. The regular forklifts I've driven in the past was gravity down. I didn't notice, but do you have side shuttle/shift?
Not on this unit
Must never have drove any type of fork 🚚 truck.. But he's got it.
What is the second set of brackets on the inside of where you are hooking up the chains at? I do not remember what they are for.
Piggyback forklifts
For a different type of piggyback lift that has mounting hooks on the front that hook onto those brackets when mounting or Unmounting the lift. So instead of having the chains keep the lift on the truck the mounting hooks keep it secured to the truck.
@@kylew728 ok thank you.
Hello! Tell me, what is needed to work on such a truck? in details please. what rights are needed and how long does it take to study? and how much money does it cost?
CDL A license with an offroad forklift certification, not sure what the cost is today
Hey mike. May I ask if Peterson was let go or if he left voluntarily. Thanks
Long story short.... voluntarily
I know nothing John Snow!!! Lol 🤙👍
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
26:04 Good investment....if you're not paying him by the hour...🤣
Are there carriers with these equipments in Florida?
Not sure
I wish I had you as an instructor, instead of the sexist old man who started training me on the moffet today. Before even seeing my physical capabilities, he said “I personally don’t think this job is for women”… And has been telling me discouraging stories all day. Discrimination never ends, there’s nothing here a woman can’t do…
Training is easy dealing with people is not.... What kind of moffett did you run?
So when is my delivery showing up? LOL
He still has the back up alarm on when he is going forward
It beeps in any direction
It’s a Home Depot requirement that it beeps in both directions, most do not come that way .
I thought this was a good educational video
I am taking a guess that this load is all returns?
Yes
What up bay fam
I don't answer questions officer 🤣

He only needs about 1 year of TRAINING and he may get to know the Machine. Don't worry you can get load off in about one Hours. I use to hate training people that don't want listening to the way they should be trained. That happens in my Tree business when to teach them how to do it and they think there way is quicker but it ain't because it's taking 2 hours longer then they wonder why there now just Brush Draggers and getting payed less. I wish i could send pitcher's over this page because im Handycap and i still out work my younger Crew.
1 year? That's way too long
I was trained literally in 10-15 mins my trainer deserves an Oscar. I don't know what hell is going on here, but it's exhausting to watch.
How much u pay for driving that truck ?
Not enough
Wow two peddles completed his Moffat training, hopefully he dose not for get what you have though him.
Now do a manitu forklift training
?
Another type of piggy back forklift
one of the worst jobs. driving dealing with people at their worst already bad then having to go to all kinds of crazy locations and lastly dealing with end consumers. should make $200k working straight 40s.
Obviously very dangerous to operate the kids should pick up how to operate it pretty well as you are the good diamond helper don’t go on launch don’t go out of your way to help people beyond your means he will come back and bite you in the arse good luck
While I appreciate your efforts and patience, please have you and your workers wear proper clothing and protection equipment including hard toe shoes while working. Thank you!
He no longer works for us
so many commercials, why u so greedy
Pay for premium 😬
