Lowes has me using a 24’ flatbed with a Moffett. It does a great job on construction sites. Many of the ones shown in this video an mostly doing flat terrain work which almost feels too easy. I’ve gotten into and out of some tight driveways with minimal adjustments. I’m still learning all the tricks the Moffett has up its sleeve!!😂
I’d think it’s all about what engine is under the little hood. A smaller Cat or Cummins paired with a 8 speed most likely. Not gonna burn up the road but good for this type of situation. I’ve been bugging my company to get a three axle flat for the moffet. Glad my moffet doesn’t have a back up alarm.
yea we use a kenworth t300 tandem axle moffett truck. cummins 8.3 10 speed. its fine for flat roads. but hills its terrible. we are stepping up to a t880 with a x15, 10 speed very soon.
Shouldn't this guy be using the stabilisers whilst offloading the pallets and then lowering the load first before moving off and maybe driving in reverse as he cant see over the pallet or is that just theory and this is real world stuff.
Typically from my experience it's normal to do this and if you have the right skill you won't need stabilizers everytime. Normally companies and instruction videos say that you're supposed to just to basically cover their own behinds if something happens and you injure yourself by not using them. Plus the cab of the forklift is offset to one side so unless the driver is hauling something wide keeping the load low is not necessary, although, I personally think the guy in this video had the cargo raised a little too high when going over that curb but that's just me. Be patient, learn how to use your machine, and you'll eventually see little tricks and maneuvers that'll help you in the long run.
I prefer my Princeton where you are seated in the center. I wonder your thoughts on that.
How do those trucks do up hills loaded and unloaded .I see alot of companies using those smaller frieghtliners rather than bigger trucks.
