I’ve only toyed with the idea of a suppressed handgun to protect my hearing as I don’t keep earpro at my bedside.

I own 2 suppressors for two of my handguns. Mine essentially are for big out situations ideally. End of times maybe? For at the time where I need to be quieter if the time comes.

I do have suppressors for every caliber that I know of, from 22LR to 50BMG, even Shotguns. You are right about the Carbines, that should be the main focus for suppressed 9mm, 40, and 45, totally awesome. But, using the same can on pistols is nice, just get threaded barrels. Having compatibility between PCCs and pistols is very important, magazines, ammo, suppressors, they can all work together.

I made the mistake of getting an FNX 45 and an Obsidian 45 for my first suppressor/host combo...that bastard is HEAVY. I will say though, it's still a blast and the Griffin EZ-Lok has eliminated the issue of the suppressor backing off and only needs about 3 turns to mount and dismount.
Now, that same suppressor on my AP5-P is just comically fun.

As much as suppressors ruin rifles, they're even worse on handguns.

He is absolutely correct, PCC’s are the sh*t with suppressors. On a pistol though it should be for purpose not for fun. With that said I use an Aurora 2 for home defense and work. The upside of the Aurora 2 is no dolphin😂. And it’s very small, also no need for a booster or suppressor height sights. The downside is that you only get about 15 shots because it’s a wiped can. It’s not a fun use or every day use as it has to be repacked after use it’s strictly for duty. I’m looking to buy the ccx from JK armament soon and see how that works as no need to repack but honestly I. My opinion a can should be used as a utility on a pistol but not for a fun shoot. And if you are using the Aurora 2 expect a lot of gunk being blown back in your face as the can is not only wiped but it’s shot wet. Wear eye pro even at work or home. I did have a concealed carry holster made for it to stay on the gun though but as stated that’s for work mainly. I have clients and can’t afford for their ears to get blown out God forbid I have to stop a threat while they are in the vehicle or facility.

My opinion is that if someone wants to suppress a pistol with a browning lockup for home defense, they have it backward. What they actually want is a compact PCC with a suppressor. They just don't know it yet.

I tend to agree with these points. That being said I already own a ghost 45 and have been itching for a 45 to shoot suppressed hahaha. I know you had some issues with the usp tactical but have they worked itself out? Or would you recommend that set up?

Are there handguns that suppress better then others?

Don't own one yet. Do they offer a suppressor that would accommodate both 22lr. and 9mm? Thanks Joe.

I am starting to get into PCP air rifles, there are a lot of great options. Just got an Umarex AirSabre, ready to try it out !!!

My Beretta 3032 Tomcat Covert has a threaded barrel. I've thought about putting a can on there, but since it's my EDC (pocket carry), obviously it doesn't make sense. Although it would definietle be a meme if I did it. That would be my only possible host pistol at this time. For impracticality and the other reasons you mention, I will be passing on that. Thanks for your insight, Brother.
