    🤸‍♂️In this episode, I'm sharing some brand new research on the benefits of Whole Body Vibration (WBV). There's a body of evidence demonstrating how effective WBV can be for building bone density, improving flexibility, balance and coordination as well as increasing strength & muscle mass. But now, we can add improved cognitive function & increased resting metabolic rate to the list of benefits.

    Thank you Dr Yoni..I love your videos because of scientific references. I just received my WBV plate...Sadly ordered before i found your videos. I want to focus specifically on bone density, I'm 74yrs. I can set at 1 to 10mm. Other machine options are pulse,oscillate, lateral or combinations of them. Should i just use lateral or is pulse/lateral better?

      Thanks for your kind words, Gabrielle!
      I'm not familiar with the type of machine you're using so I cannot say - none of the WBV platforms I've used use settings like that. I would suggest reaching out to the manufacturer directly and asking them.

      @@painfixprotocol I should have mentioned that machine is rumblex plus by lifepro. I have since spoken with the manufacturer lifepro . So it seems that I can use the pulse mode at 30 hertz, 1.5 mm . Thank you so much for your quick response.

    When using the Power Plate WBV to increase bone density the optimal protocol seemed to be 10-15 min per day at 35 Hz, 3 to 5 times per week. (1 min on; 1 min off) How do you optimize the Power Plate with so many different protocols. It gets confusing if you want to increase bone density and also brain function. Thanks!

    What about retinal detachment ?

    • @painfixprotocol
      @painfixprotocol  Před 4 měsíci

      Thanks for asking!
      To my knowledge, there is 1 individual case study published in 2020 documenting a retinal tear following whole body vibration. Two other case studies (of single patients) have reported vitreous hemorrhage associated with WBV. That's a total of 3 cases since 2008. Furthermore, the patient with retinal tear was using a very high intensity and position where his knees were completely locked out - the patient reported that his "teeth were chattering" while on the platform - this is indicative of improper technique. Overall, the safety profile for WBV is excellent and I am not aware of a single clinical study showing any serious adverse effects.
      Here's the case study - bmcophthalmol.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12886-019-1291-y

And was there a more equitable mix of gender (and hopefully of racial backgrounds) in the other studies discussed later on in your video? The results are intriguing but I'd love to see some all-female studies to help balance out the data!

      @@painfixprotocol thanks. They don’t really explain the exact protocol, how much time spent on each body part. Seems to be continuous with no intervals between WBV. I’m wondering if adding a couple of minutes prone on abdomen to my existing routine would actually make a difference.

Whole body vibration was applied using the Base Module, applying vibration to the trunk, upper limbs and thighs area, and additionally local vibration (Metabolism module) directed to the abdominal area. The physical stimulus was continuous vibration with variable values of frequency, amplitude and acceleration, which ranged, respectively: 25-52 Hz, 0.1-0.5 mm and 6.9-13.5 m/s2. The vibration stimulus was generated in three directional perpendicular (3D). A single WBV lasted 29 min."

    There are 3 frequency ranges which do diferent things to muscles. In a nutshell 0-9 Hz loosening. Its qround 7 Hz really. 10-19 Hz activating muscle functrion. 20-36 Hz strengthening. Around 35 Hz benefits bone strengthening.
    Above 36 Hz supposedly does not do anything. Yet, at 60-99 Hz it begins to hammer into the body, which certainly makes it react by becoming more resilient to shock waves. I am turning up frequencies of 37-99 Hz within a span of 1 minute. Not longer. Too much of this is certainly not healthy.
    Noted down 30 Hz for brain function. Thanks for the video :)
