Sorry to say but the first one, upright swing looks like a pain for rotator cuff, similar to upright row and american swings
I don't think so. It's a great combo to match the legs, traps and back. With the inertia of the upward thrust from your hips, your shoulder girdle has nowhere near the forces required in a regular upright row. It's also not an American Swing since the arms don't go overhead. I gave it a shot in today's workout and they felt grueling but awesome! - Gregory
I think the first exercice is like the pull face, so very good for scapula bend😊

I have daddy long legs (long femurs) and a short torso, so deep squats aren't my jam. Can I do these in a lunge?

I cannot find much info on those squat hops, but intuitively they seem like a really good accessory to develop increase your W/kg output in running. Did you find any supporting anecdotes or training outcomes from this exercise?
