Great video. Please keep these up Gjeebs. They’r3 very helpful to us EV owners. I drive a 2019 Audi e-tron. But when my tires need replacement, this is exactly the kind of data I’ll need to make a decision. The subscribe button not only lit up, it jumped out of the phone 😉. Also, I had a similar experience to you at NTB, smh.
Bridgestone made a big mistake, yeah, at first it does not need the foam, but as their tread wears down that minimize sound are negated, the effect is negated as where the foam no matter what the mileage or wear is a constant.
Big oversight Bridgestone.
Is this your experience? And do you have a study you could link to prove this? I’m genuinely curious and haven’t heard about this benefit of the foam interior. 😁
I have these on my model 3 and they're a great tyre. 16k miles so far and still got plenty of wear left

I would appreciate if you also take the outside temperature differences into serious account. No mention of the outside temp. Let alone the road or tire temperatures. Easy to measure so why not?
I did again some summer tire testing last week. Outside temp changed 4-5 Celsius and results changed over 3%. This was when there was even no sunlight to mess the road and tire temperatures.
outside temp and wind was always measured and was around the same for all tests. I also heated up the battery to 100 for each test

I installed these exact tires on my 2020 MY lr - I also found there were not as efficient as the factory or after market Conti Pro contacts, and while I didn't subjectively find them any quieter I do feel that the improve ride quality and make steering a little crisper. This was my hyway car when I put the tires on, so I really wanted the efficiency gains that were supposed to come from them, I have since added a new model s, so my wife drives this car limited miles in town and I expect these tires will be perfect for that task for may years.

Ben, prior to this review of the new Bridgestone EV tires, it sounded like you had concluded that the Hankook ION EV AS were your #1 recommended replacement tires for Model Y LR. Has your opinion changed?
Do you feel any ride difference between the stock 40s to these 45s?
I want to install 45s to try to make the ride a little softer.

Need to replace my tires in a couple months on my model 3 lr. Which tires gets the most miles before needing replacing....hopefully not to expensive
If you don't want to spend a ton on tires but still get an EV tire look at Sailun. They are great
I found a good price on some Goodyear 25545R20 101V Tires at Walmart but they are not ev specific, I drive about 8000 miles per year maybe even less, so I really need EV specific tires?
Just got my TMY 2021 two weeks ago and I know tires will need replacement before winter comes to Chicago this year.

As long as they meet the load and speed ratings, they should work fine. What they might do is be louder and slightly less efficient. I put some cheap tires on my 3 at 1 point and they functioned just fine, but had those drawbacks.
Dang I wish you had tested these tires on the same wheels. I’m debating between the Hankooks and the Sailun tires rn. And I think the Hankooks are overall better than the Sailun, but can’t compare apples to oranges!
I didn’t see that you mentioned anything about the mileage for the Bridgestone Turanza. It has probably one of the highest that they do which is 80,000 miles I just replaced the full set for $600 because of the mileage warranty.
Does anyone make a larger 19" tire that will protect the rims? I'm considering switching my LR MY wheels to 18" to protect the rims and gain that slight 3-5% range boost
Tell them to make them for the model Y Performance! we only have like 1 or 2 all season option for the 275/35R21

255/45 is the factory wheel size for the 19" wheels. The 20's are 40 and yes the 19" wheels feel better
I go to Costco I feel they do the same thing treat your car no matter what it is right.
