I think the era of the bad batch might be a tad early for the inquisitors to be fully active. It could be that the upcoming failure of Hemlock might lead to the inquisitors taking over the role of his assassin clones.

    • @westwardstar1686

That would make sense because Hemlocks Necromancer Project runs kinda parallel with the soon to be Inquisitorious.

I suspect that the tales of the empire will be getting more into that, with Barris Offee being trained into potentially one of the first inquisitors in this same time frame. Also what Hemlock is doing isn't so much redundant with the inquisitors, it's more that they will replace or begin to oversee the M-count bounties.

So one of the things about the rule of two is that in included both the fact that the master should not go gentle into that good night, as well as the fact that if they find a potentially stronger apprentice they should start to train them and make the two compete... to the death. Darth Bane himself knew the essence transfer force technique and tried to use it on Darth Zana when she came to succeed him, had he succeeded then Bane 2.0 would have found and taken an new apprentice with the same set of rules. The fact that he had trained her to be stronger than him and he was unable to take her body was the entire point.

The emperor would not trust the Inquisitors with something of this nature. Remeber, the kids are basically DNA donors for Palpatine, he has no interest in training these kids in the force whatsoever, and putting Inquisitors near them and potentially having one of them use the force on the kids may inspire them to connect with the dark side and then just cause unnecessary problems, Palps wants their DNA/Blood, not more Jedi hunters.

It's so new that they aren't really trained at all in the ways of the dark side, so they're basically like really bad sith and a really bad Jedi the worst of both worlds but also I feel like the major second reason is because if Palpatine brings the inquisitors in then Vader will find out and that's a huge threat. Not so much as what he is hiding but the Empire has a lot of projects running that compete against each other (Krennic, Thrawn, Vader, Palpatine and more). It reminds me when NAZI Germany was competing agiants itself buying stolen works of arts for both Hitler planned museum as well other officers personal collections (the Germans wasted precious war funds in the markets due to agencies working for the same buyer out pricing each other).
Check the different US intel agencies as a modern example as, I understood, one agency had intel for 9/11/2001 but decided not to share it until much later that there were some suspicious persons that entered the nation.
So both Vader and Hemlock are working hunting Force sensitives and it is a thing that is believable.

I believe they used bounty hunters in the earlier stages of the Empire cause the were transitioning from the Republic to an Empire.. so, some shady things couldn't be tie to the government, by having the military involved.

It may have been Palpatine’s openly recruiting of Luke in the throne room scene in Return of the Jedi that put Vader over the edge. I assume Vader had some emotional attachment to Luke, but also this would have been the last straw for Vader’s belief in the rule of two and in the Sith at large.

Never would I have thought that I would feel the need to correct you, but you did make a mistake when saying that it doesn't matter if you loose your limbs considering your power in the force. Darth Vader did loose power due to his loss of limbs and blood which contain the Midoclorians. Sure he still had plenty left in his upper body, but not as much as if he had been left unharmed by Obi-Wan.

The Sith went through hundreds of years of subterfuge to get revenge on the Jedi and rule the galaxy only to have that rule last a couple decades.

The inquisitorious, Like the dark side acolytes are officially not sith and officially not part of the rule of two but the emperor was never about following the rules to the letter. You wanted to have a deep bench pull from in the event of losing any apprentices.
Technically, you would not want them to know about the project seeking immortality because that takes their ambition for advancement out of play.
The emperor's quest for immortality is the ultimate middle finger at the rule of two.
As of the time of the bad match, the inquisitor programs ranks are too thin to have readily available powerful individuals for the side project You're trying to hide from them anyway. The only standing forces the Inquisitorious probably has at this time Are the recently turned and therefore not really trusted dark jedi.
